Absolutely terrible experience - employees, particularly Jeff - are rude and will talk to your children without an adult present. For no extra charge the head trainer will be pedantic and aggressive to your spouse. Embarrassment to the community!

I strongly deter anyone from sending your child to the before or after care programs on site at the elementary schools. More specifically, Douglas Jamerson.

I can’t count all the times that their pool area has been closed. This includes the sauna and hot tub. “Sorry” and “I know how you feel” responses from staff just don’t cut it anymore. Refunds for lack of services should be offered, but that will never happen. Sad!

Emily Conklin, if you can’t handle the image of a young Scared black child! Then you don’t need to be around any children!!! You should step down!!! You are an example of an intolerant white American paranoid woman!!!! Resign!

I love the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg. What a wonderful place to be where all can socialize, make friends, meet new people and work out at the gym. My family and children love attending the school age programs and swimming lessons and Jim and Heather Gills!

Employing known racist like Emily Conklin in a position of authority is the very cause of systemic racism. They couldn't ban Ruby from schools in 1960, so Emily did it in 2023. It's one thing if you don't want your child to watch the movie, but ban it so others can't is despicable. The worst thing the devil did was convince people he didn't exist, and you're doing that with racism. Ruby was brave enough to go through it, but your kids can't learn about it because it hurts your feelings? Ruby Bridges is still ALIVE, and you trying to deny her experiences to comfort your feelings is infuriating, and divisive. Your complaint states that the movie teaches that "white people hate black people ". No, Your actions, and the actions of those who agreed with you to green light this ban does that.

The development director Emily Conklin has negatively affected ALL the children in Pinellas county schools. She asked that the story of Ruby Bridges not be told.. If she is a representative of the Y then their mission statement should change or she should be removed.

The historical reviews here are alarming and illuminating. Given that a member of your staff is objecting to Ruby Bridges, a pg-rated Disney biopic about a six year old girl who was the first African-American child to attend desegregated school in Lousiana, I am very concerned about the way children of color are treated by this organization.

For the director of young women’s christian association, Emily ConklinAttempting to censor and hiding Truth is not Christian thus, you do not fit the qualifications needed to do her job while aligning with the Christian value of Love. By exposing examples of hate, we can teach Love. This faux Christian does not deserve to work at a Christian agency.

Emily Conklin who works for an organization whose very mission is to ensure equitable access for all so that all families have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. This individual is upset that a true story a 6-year-old who integrated New Orleans schools in the 1960s was being shown at school. Stop trying to erase the history of marginalized communities!

Employs racist and history denier Emily Conklin. She is actively trying to deny segregation existed in Florida by preventing it from being taught in schools.
