Pretty nice place to live in Tallahassee. Units are spacious and pretty nice, although a little old and worn out. Management is friendly and helpful, and maintenance staff is nice and efficient. So far all the neighbors I've met pretty much keep to themselves but everyone is respectful. It's so peaceful and quiet here, which I especially love. So much nature all around makes it very relaxing. Some downsides are the frequent water shut-off and no choice for internet or cable, but we haven't had any major issues. Overall, I'd recommend living here. It's not perfect, but it's a good value and much better than other places I've lived in Tallahassee.

I lived here for a year. I liked the area my apartment was in. Very quiet.
They were flippant when I had questions about the internet and it not working in my apartment after the elect was out for a week.
I just left the apartment after lease ending. And I cleaned it.
Super irritated they had the audacity to charge for steam cleaning carpets. That’s on them. Thats normal wear and tear for a year
I’d have done 5 stars of it weren’t for that.

This review comes from a tenant of a few days shy of a full month. I was refused of an upgrade at my old apartment residence so I was forced to find a new place. I found Blairstone and was surprised at their website so I decided to do a viewing. I was helped by Ismara, who was heaven sent!! She answered all of my questions and at the end, my 6 year old was so excited. I ended up applying and was approved 2 days later. The application process was easy!!
While scheduling the movers, there was an issue with the time. The office staff was so understanding and accommodating that i was able to pick up my keys earlier than schedule to help solve my movers issue. I am grateful for that. On the day of my move in, I went to the office to retrieve my keys and was met with a bag full of goodies. I was shocked at the hospitality i was given. I walked into my new apartment and was blown away!!! It was so spacious and clean. I just love my screened in balcony! I am so in love.
After moving in there were 2 issues that were handled very quickly. All of the staff are very welcoming and professional. My 6 year old son loves the basketball court and the pool. This is such an upgrade from my last apartment complex. It feel like there are actual people living here versus everyone staying inside. You see people walking, playing in the pool, playing tennis, listening to music. I love the environment.
I have read the reviews prior to moving here and saw the concerns about vehicle theft. I make sure to keep my car doors locked. I also have a ring camera. There is theft everywhere but you have to do your job to try to keep your things safe. My experience so far has been top tier!

They have fiber internet and trees all around. A locals gem as far as Tallahassee rentals go.
Just read thru the comments and noticed the opinions on Broadstar. That fiber internet is amazing for people who know how to use it and way cheaper than xfinity Comcast. As an IT guy and gamer having multiple Gb and unlimited transactions is so important.

multiple leaks and mold that they have not taken care of after reaching out multiple times. I was out of town and contacted about getting into my apartment due to my downstairs neighbor having a leak. I called multiple asking them to update me on the status of the leak since I was out of town and they were not able to give an answer. I return to find the apartment covered in mud, footprints, and a soaking wet carpet in the bedroom. I called twice asking them to clean the carpet and they never got back to me. I have also had two visible and wet to the touch leaks running down the drywall for months. The entire apartment is humid and smells awful. If someone from management sees this please help me!!! I have read other reviews and have been having the same issues. The lawn maintenance will sometimes go until 10:00 at night. I have witnessed multiple people checking car door handles. The water gets shut off CONSTANTLY and is terrible quality. I have replaced my drinking water filter six times since moving in five months ago due to clear sediment buildup. Mind you I use this filter just for drinking water from the tap. I haven’t had any poor interactions with management other than a lack of response.

UPDATED 05/2024**I’ve lived here since 2020. I'm a young professional & live in a 1/1 in phase 1. From my experience, I’d rate the apartment a 4. I’ll go into FULL detail below.
Neighbors: The best part of my experience here has hands down been my neighbors! I truly got lucky with them. Our building is always quiet, nobody has kids or loud pets. Everyone minds their own business. Hell, I don’t even know their names lol.
The unit/property: My unit was clean upon move in. There were only a couple minor things that needed to be handled by maintenance. The unit is very spacious. The appliances work. I love the screened in patio, because ya know, Florida. The property is beautiful, they do a very good job at groundskeeping. There are plenty of amenities on site, and all are kept in good condition.
**Plumbing: 05/2024 UPDATE: They have had less water shut offs in the past few months and have done a better job with giving notice of them. And yes, they will typically happen during work hours.
Original post: Your water will be shut off once a week at minimum! This week it's been off twice. They'll give you about 10-20min warning if you get one.**
Management: Getting accepted to move in here was a headache. They dragged their feet on it, but I stayed on them and eventually got in. This was a few years ago, and I think the people I dealt with at that time are no longer here. I recently had someone from the office leave me a voice mail asking how I was doing and if there's anything I needed from them. That was super sweet and has never happened before, so kudos to them. They also just had us fill out surveys about things they could improve on.
Obligatory internet/cable provider: BROADSTAR! You will be forced to pay for their cable (even if you don’t use it) and not-so-great internet. No other option.
Bugs: I don’t have any ants in my unit. I do, however, have big ol centipedes that come out in the summer and make their way into my apt. They laugh at bug spray, and you will hear them before you see them because they blend into the dark floors and make a horrible crunch when you inevitably step on them! I occasionally get a spider or other lil critter because my unit backs into the woods.
Misc.: Parking is very plentiful in my area. There’s a homeless camp in the woods behind my building. You will sometimes see them enter the woods from the entrance of the apartment. They don’t bother us, we don’t bother them. Crime is low in the area. The location is perfect. We are close to plenty of food and stores, just not the interstate. This is a good part of town. Rent does increase each year, but it does everywhere else too.

There has been instances of car robbery since living here and there is no security at all. I alert the management team about the situation and they did not care about communicating it to the people who lives in but they can send a lot of texts messages about closing the gym at least 2 times per month and pest control.
The gym is not nice at all, very limited machines.
The prices for these apartments are very high for the apartment quality at this point.

I've lived at Blairstone for over 6 years and have only recently read the reviews posted here. While it is true the water has had some issues and we do have water shut-offs (it is not nearly as often as some have said), the office staff lets us know in advance of these shut-off times, and they always occur during work hours when the majority of people are not home. It has never affected me.There have been a few office staff who were less than pleasant, but they don't work here for long. Currently, there are two incredibly polite and friendly office staff - J'Monte and Elizabeth - who are my all-time favorites over the past 6 years, as well as Nikki, the property manager. They all have responded quickly to any concern I've ever had. When they say they will call me back, they actually do. I couldn't ask for more. Maintenance responds quickly to any issue I have. The landscapers, Dynamic Lawn Care (DLC), do an amazing job. The property, while it is not brand new, looks great in no small part due to the landscapers. If I get rich, I'm hiring them! The swimming pools are always crystal clear, the fitness facility has enough equipment I don't need to pay for a gym membership, there's a dog park, tennis courts, basketball courts, a beach volleyball court, and the complex itself is a great place to walk around if you just like to walk. There's even a kids play area. Everything is kept clean and in good repair. My favorite part about living here is we are smack dab in the center of town, so close to everything, yet we are pretty much surrounded by trees. There is one way in and out, which means there is zero through traffic. People can complain about the price, but if they compare the prices here to comparable apartments around Tallahassee, they would realize these apartments are a pretty good deal. I wouldn't have stayed here as long as I have if they weren't.

Edit October 19, 2023:They told us they would shut the water off today so they could do repairs and then the water stayed on. Now we get a text that it's going to but shut off tomorrow. It's been really hard to plan when I can work out because I think the water is going to be shut off. This is so ridiculous.Edit: Water still being shut off once a week, often without notice. I hate it here. The water is shut off several times a month. No one takes responsibility for it. The front office blames the city, but they could at least text us when the city arrives so we can prepare (fill up bath tub to make toilets flushable, fill up water filter for drinking, etc). They could even ask the city to wait just five minutes to turn off the water so we can prepare, but they can't find it in their hearts to make that happen for us.

Nasty , old apartment complex . BROKEN SIDEWALKS , steep staircases to second floor , dated old discolored popcorn ceiling , 20 year old air conditioners and rude staff … musty smelling , outdated appliances and floors , water out all the time with no warning , huge holes in the parking lot that will break your tires … people fly through the parking lot , save your money go somewhere else !!!!

I went to the front office to report that I was being harassed at the gym and the supervisor in the leasing office said that there was nothing that could be done. Do not move here.

Me and my husband have been here almost 5 years unfortunately. And it's has been terrible. The hot tub has never worked since we moved in. The water is off at least 1-2 times a week. And now our last month is here finally! and our Air-condition unit quit. So they put us one small window unit in the window. Mind you with this small ac unit they put in the window it does not cool the entire apartment, it’s staying between 82-85 inside the apartment still with this small ac unit running. And they told us they wouldn't put a second one in due to management. (We have the 2 bed 2bath) Can we say cheap much... and there not sure when the actual ac unit will be replaced. This is ridiculous since rent is well over a thousand a month here. Not the most friendliest place either. Some of the staff in office is friendly. I Definitely do not recommend moving to these apartments.
