Bobs is my new go-to for any of my future transmission work. I recently took my 2003 mustang in for a whole new clutch assembly as I felt (and heard) mine was going out. As a student, finding a shop that’s flexible, affordable, and friendly is a top priority for me. I decided on Bobs based on their location and years of experience, and they also accepted installing my own provided parts, which is very generous and hard to find these days. It can always be a gamble getting major work done on your car, especially when it’s an essential tool to you. The team at bobs made me feel at ease as soon as I called them on the phone, Melinda was very nice and assured me they could do the work I needed. I dropped it off a few mornings later, and sure enough a few days later I got the call my car was finished! Drives smooth as butter, and I couldn’t be happier with it. On top of it all, they provided me with a fair price. And overall great experience. Thanks again to all the folks at Bobs for assuring me I made the right choice.

Bob was the last shop I could afford to wake my geo tracker to. It was a manual transmission, but I had taken it to nearly ten other shops, with maybe half of them charging me to look at my transmission around a hundred to "diagnose" the issue and the other ones telling me that they "knew" the issue from what I had told them. And all I told anyone was that my gear shifter slowly became nearly impossible to move. I was practically driving to some of the latter shops in third gear because I couldn't shift any higher. Most places told me I need a complete rebuild for 1-2 thousand dollars. The other few told me I needed a new clutch and other mechanisms that I can't recall. Bob's was my last option. I was out of money, and I can't remember, but I believe I ended up having to tow it there. While not one other shop called me, I had to call for updates directly and/or ask them what's taking so long, Bob called me the next day while I was working and left a message on my phone telling me to come by that they figured it out and fixed it. I was concerned about the fixed part - I'd never gave them confirmation to fix my car! Well when I came in the next day, driving a friend's vehicle afraid I wouldn't be able to afford the costs, Bob - the owner, told me that I wasn't being charged. While it honestly took maybe 29 mins of anxiety waiting to be greeted by anyone, I was shocked. And I told him I can't do that, let me give you something? He told me that "it really wasn't that big of a deal, there was just a nut that needed to be tightened underneath that basically controls how tight or loose you clutch is and we just tightened it..." Once again I said let me pay something, all the other shops wanted thousands and you are not charging me?! He refused and I said let me give someone a 20 dollar tip because y'all have blessed me. And he told me, Nope! He said if you really want to do anything at all, which he wasn't asking for until I refused not to pay, he said, if you want to leave any review on Google that would be better than 20 bucks. My mind was blown. And he, the owner, came out there and showed me the exact nut (actually I think there where two or three very close and you had to hold one or two while twisting the other of I remember correctly. It was as simple as tightening a nut and you had to continually check how the clutch felt) him laying on his back on the asphalt, prob in his 60s, and I eventually had to readjust the same thing maybe four or five times over the next two years. I only "rated" him five stars last time because that's all I knew how to do on Google and it was probably a different email but god bless you Bob for help in hard times. (Actually I was just looking up the shop and I guess the owners name is Karl) regardless I'd highly suggest and I am ashamed to see bad reviews when they come from some random college kids mom that lives out of state. I hate to use the name "Karen" but that's exactly the first review I saw and she clearly knew nothing of her son/daughters situation, while the business responded appropriately. Last thing - to all you Karen's or carons, your loved, I wish name calling didn't exist, but that's where we are today - I can explain an entire personality by a made up name. ?

Zero stars...I pull up to Bob transmission needing air in my tire after 2 air machine out of service . The young service man said let me go ask my boss. Young man comes out and said the boss said he can't put air in your tire because insurance liability. I said to the young man this is a business right? When I told the lawyer why I had a young man late for court .2 air machine broken and finally get to BOB transmission and his insurance issues ???.I told her .Im not the one to beat the doors down Begging for SERVICE ! My money will spent better else where.Nice nasty business will go on until the end of time. Bob should be worried about Gov.DeSatan making employers check immigration status before hiring . ?That's a problem??.

I must say... Mr Carl and the Mrs. are excellent people. The process repairing my vehicle was quite lengthy..Initially, the work was to go through a warranty company... Unfortunately my work was quickly diagnosed as a wear in tear issue which would be my responsibility. .. The bill came to be $4500 and some change.... 7 LONG MONTHS later I retrieved my vehicle and was NOT charged any storage fees... The 7 months was all on me because I had to pay the car note, insurance and Now the repair... Many would have given up and just let the whole car go back.. Mr Carl and the Mrs was so nice, there is no way I could stick them with the repair bill and the ignoring ideal of the repo issues.. Thank you Bobs Transmission for the long over due repair which once again was on me.. Honestly, when I finally paid my bill down some. The repairs was done in 1 week... YES,,, on week.

Called to get a quote on a transmission service, had an idea that it was going to run aroung 250. After a minute of hemming and hawing this guy said "well we can do it for around 350". Not sure how they can justify 30% over the going rate. Stay away!

Fixed up my El Camino free of charge and was honest with what the problem was. There is a reason this place has been open and busy for decades.

As Rs. says the office woman Melinda has the nastiest attitute of really anyone you could possible meet. The quoted price isn't what you will actually pay (in my circumstance it was 1k estimate for a bench rebuild including torque converter, in reality it was 1672.98 and wouldn't provide torque converter. If you don't get a written price and they give you a verbal quote (Karl is a smooth talker and seems trustworthy) they will not even come ballpark of honoring it. They most likely will not as required by law offer you a written estimate and will force you to sign the waive written estimate paper to pick up your transmission once work is complete knowing you will probably do it just to go back to work. Also out of 3 transmissions I personally know were build 2 lasted less than 1 day and the 3rd lasted a year and a 4 days before complete failure. The jeep clubs will tell you horrible builder. Currently they won't release my transmisson that's in the shop for warranty repair until I pay the fee (which I agreed to pay though there was no written estimate or verbal and it was supposed to be a pure warranty repair) just so I could finally get back on the road. But on top of that they want to void any future warranty even if I get an authorized transmission shop to install it (they won't install it). Currently going through dep of ag complaint and attorney general. Probably going to have to do small claims.
