The staff was ok did not have much information about me at all, I only seen the doctor one time even though I asked several times to see them, I had developed new symptoms the next morning, like my inner thigh was burning in pain and it has been over 12 hours since I had peed and my low stomach was swollen and hurting, I felt like I had to go really bad but couldn't. They gave me a purwick thing and finally several more hours later I kept forcing and finally went, that open the flood gates. They had to empty it twice so they brought in a potty chair. Well with my daughter in laws help we figure out how to get me up to use it, over and over. She had to be the one to clean it, the CNAs would just walk out. They knew I wasn't eating so my son was going to take me down to get some fruit or something I might could try to eat, and I was stopped and ordered back to my room like a child said I am not aloud to go anywhere in the hospital. Then when I told them to tell the doctor through the grapevine that my insurance was already familiar with me and PT and OT at TMH they brought in a whole new company. So to say I had a good visit with you. No I can really say that this time. I eat butterscotch candy to get my sugar up from 50 which then I got a shot every 3 hours. And stayed sick to my stomach.

I was admitted with a colon mass. Over the course of 10 days, I went through a colonoscopy and major surgery to remove the mass. I truly believed that I had cancer. All the doctors were convinced that the mass was malignant. We had the discussions that go with that type of diagnosis. Dr. Terzo and Dr. Robertson conducted the surgery. They were able to remove the entire mass and send it off for biopsy. The results came back...no cancer. The care I received was nothing short of miraculous. From all of the doctors, nurses (IMCU & Post Operative Care Unit), the patient care assistants, the dietary people and housekeeping, the care all these people provided is something I cannot adequately put into words. I am still in awe of the dedication, caring and compassion all of these medical professionals and support professionals provide to the patients in their care. There is no doubt in my mind, that were it not for these heros, I would not be typing these words. TMH is extremely fortunate to have ALL these people on their staff. I will be forever greatful for the level of care and compassion these heros of mine have.

My experience with the TMH Surgery Center from pre-op to release exceeded my expectations. The Team was kind and thoughtful toward my needs. Then when I needed to spend the night, the admission process went smoothly and the team that took care of me was incredible.

No pillow for me in Bixler Trauma center. No food or drink from 2:00 to 10:00. No chair for my Dad to sit in. The nurse station that I could see from my room. They were young and playing on their phones. No answer to nurses button. Terrible experience!!!!!

I was discharged with No discharge paperwork. I received nothing in writing about the dos and donts after colon resection. No idea what to use for diarrhea or constipation. No idea when I can restart meds and vitamins. On the positive side, nursing staff was very pleasant. But can’t say anyone was extremely helpfulHad a girl from TMH pharmacy come to my room 2 days prior to my discharge and she informed me that I could get my discharge medications thru them and have them delivered to my room upon my discharge. My RN called them from my room with all my pertinent information and was told meds would be there in 30 minutes. An hour later I had heard from no one. RN called again and was told they would be there in 20 minutes.I’ll skip forward a bit and say , while I was heading home I received a call saying I had another med that was not given to me. They offered to mail the meds and said I should receive them the next day. I never received the other medication. When a patient is discharged they don’t need this. Especially being discharged prior to the weekend. This could be a great benefit to patients. But the task has to be completed properly. If the pharmacy can’t do it properly the service should not be offered. I m sure it’s a nice money maker for them but definitely not a service to the patient especially patients in pain.

Everyone taking care of me was very good to me and my daughter, who stayed with me. The only problem we had was that housekeeping never came and took out the trash or provided any toilet paper or cleaned any at all. We spent two night and days without seeing housekeeping.

I could not have asked for better care during my experience with TMH. Everyone from the desk clerk's admission, crew laboratory, dietary housekeeping, the wonderful surgical staff and nursing staff. And of course my doctor and his surgical team were well above experiences. I've had other places.
