I’m leaving one star because I have to. The hospital is filthy. I’ve been in this room for 2-3 days and not once have I seen housekeeping. I had a major surgery, so I was out walking the hall and the floors are horrible. I would bet they haven’t been swept or mopped in at least two years. They’re getting ready to move me to another room/floor and I can only hope the cleanliness and nursing staff are better. The nurses don’t seem to care at all. If you have an option, I would suggest you bypass TMH.

Visiting my son here in Tallahassee was not as expected. I got gravely I’ll and had to be brought to the ER at 3 am. My care from the moment I arrived was exceptional. From checking in, to triage, to ER patient room then finally to my room that I had. The nurses were very professional first off, but with compassionate smiles. Also, the chaplain on staff, Cecelia, was my sons co-worker and was there with me until I was in my room and doing much better. On every occasion or step I had to take the personal was extremely personal and professional. Even housekeeping and dietary brought me to smiles. It was such a great experience. Thank you everyone that helped me during a scary time of my life. It was received with the warmth it was presented with.

Excellent care of my mother. The nurses, dietary, doctors, Everyone was so empathic to her needs and prompt to take care of her. I’m so thankful of them and the chaplains who support us all during the scary time.

Hospital could be great; however, the inability to give continuity of care is severely lacking. Too many doctors who are changed up constantly. With their residents giving care to patients, the hospital then sends in other doctors as well. Imagine how confusing it gets when you see three doctors at different times who all seem to have different stories. I think it becomes a challenge to communicate. I do see incredible doctors here though but I also see failed communication between patients and physicians. It is very dangerous and my dads life was in jeopardy here which should scare the hell out of anyone. My major concern is how my father almost died here over the lack of care from a nurse in ICU. My dad was his only patient and he horribly left my father for an hour and a half without any care when we called repeatedly. No regard to my moms pleadings. Additionally I brought to nursing staff my concerns during the day of my fathers very obvious cognitive decline with possible co2 retention which could have easily been resolved with an ABG. This would have definitely alerted medical staff. I was told he was not a priority due to their cyber attack and they had issues getting blood results back in time. Okay an abg is run on a separate system that is handheld or a small computer not attached to a mainframe. So I was so utterly shocked that this was not tracked ALL day.He also did not get a chest x ray which would have revealed tons of fluid all in his lungs and around his heart. My dad then ended up in crisis at the end of the night that could have been resolved earlier in the day. Thankfully decent doctors stepped in hours later to save his life. Again, could have been solved had staff cared to watch his decline in ICU!!! I am SO disappointed in this hospital. Please please resolve as a hospital to fix your problems. The city depends on care here and I would hate to see this hospital have a reputation even worse than currently I see. I work with the best medical researchers in the world at the leading hospitals with my career. I just hope that we see improved care here one day.

I am a doctor and a nurse. I went to this hospital through the emergency room and have NEVER experienced such low and rude nurses. They had on loud Rap music and were laughing as if they were having a party. A patient came to the desk and stated that the laughing was bothering him and they told him to go back to his room. "We are at work and have the right to laugh. You're the one out of line" If I were the head nurse here I would be firing all of that staff and making firm rules. The compassion and professionalism is atrocious.

If I could give negative stars I would. My newborn son just had surgery, the staff informed me that after the surgery they would send a member to bring my family and my son back to our room. But instead of doing what they said they were going to do, they called me and acted confused when I wasn’t in his pediatrics room saying they had already transported him ACROSS THE HOSPITAL. So without informing the parents of a literal infant, they thought it was smart to bring him back to his room, and the nurse said “well he was crying so I brought him back to comfort him”. Long story short, their communication skills are trash.

My son-in-law arrived around 4am. My daughter was in a hurry and inappropriately dressed. She passed several employees who "claimed" not to speak English. In any case they should have tried to help by offering a wheelchair or something to put on. They finally found the emergency room and she still had to sit in the waiting room almost 2hrs for him to be seen and no one offered any clothing. After we felt he was taken care of she left to get some sleep. When she returned 2hours later she found him sitting in the waiting room "released" with absolutely no paperwork and no one there to pick him up! I was shocked that they would release him, take him outside and leave him. We have to take his word for it because no family member was there. I called "patient experience" and was transferred to the "ER Advocate Cathy" who assured me @1:50pm that she would have her team check on it and she took my number so she could call me back. It is now 4:22pm and I have heard from anyone! I then spoke with Kelsey "Charge Nurse" for the ER. Someone else was impersonating her because my daughter thought she had spoken to her but she did not. Kelsey told me that someone from the ER called her and spoke to her about the situation and she was gathering a team to talk about it. My concern is the way he was released, and the fact that he was still exhibiting the same behavior as when he came in. The fact that we were complaining did not matter at all! I could not be any more disappointed in a "hospital". If I could give zero stars I would!

I have scabies and they are exposing me to the entire lobby of sick people, for over two hours now. If you're in a hurry or seeking treatment for something serious or time sensitive, I wouldn't bother with this place. The staff and nurses don't care and are only concerned with their own time clocks and each other. I've been waiting over an hour with scabies in the waiting room exposing many others to what I have while I wait for any nurse or staff member to call for me. If you come down with scabies, blame TMH.

Not gonna cap they are one of the worst service ever, Their lazy not much of help and they leave you in pain for 3 hour straight. Then you can hear them talking and not working. If you come here be ready to wait in pain till they decide to help you when they feel like it.Man theses people on the 5th floor are the worst, They don't have hot water they gave me a bucket full of cold water! Their lazy I cought a rash from the room and when I was trying to ask for help with the cold water they kept walking when I yelled hey. Close the door on me and didn't come back. Or try to offer me hot water so I could clean myself off. IF IM A SICK PATIENT and my breathing is low and had to wash in cold water as a sick person wouldn't that make things worse for me, inside a cold room too think about it and they don't be on time when it's time to help give medicine. LIKE TMH hospital really have fallen low. Even the TV sound and remote control doesn't work like why give a sick person this kind of room in the first place.Ps this place need better people and not hire people based off connection or a relationship. TMH really have disappointed me dearly.

I am so impressed with the care we got in the cardiac ICU on the third floor. Every staff member was professional and empathetic throughout the time my family member was critically ill and died. I’m a nurse and understand the complexity of caring for patients and found the nurses to be attentive and patient with our questions.

Our night nurse, Festus, is one of the best nurses I have ever encountered. He is friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I feel he has treated us as family. He takes time to explain things and answer any question you have.

Heading to have cardiac surgery is not something I look forward to in life but having a great experience provided by Tallahassee Memorial Hospital provided the healthcare needed. From registration which was fast and efficient, ALL the nurses and kind staff that got me prep properly on time, thanks! Dr Bavikati and his Team were personal, professional, Informative throughout the cardiac process and aftercare. I did not have any needs the TMH Teams that also included Recovery, Cardiac floor, and Dietary left unattended. Thank you TMH for showing there are Healthcare professionals that go the extra mile for us.

After my primary care Dr left, I was handed off like discarded trash to the other Dr within the office. This Dr proceeded to insert her opinion, in place of my already established medical care, and began to reverse what had already been prescribed. Treatments which had been effective for years already, best of all, I could hear her in the background of the phone call saying she was going to cut the med down to zero, while the nurse tried to tell me otherwise. On top of all this, throughout how many appointments, phone calls, and multiple things mailed to the house AND nothing showing under bills due on their own app, they failed to mention that my insurance didn't cover $30, and they sent it to collections. This sham of a hospital is disgusting.

We just moved to Tallahasee in August. We didn't yet have a Primary Care physician here and were told to go to TMH to get a referral for a neurologist. This didn't really make any sense, but we wend to the ER of TMH and told the receptionist specifically that we are here only to get a referral for a neurologist. Long story short, she was admitted, examined and we were told there's nothing they can do! I told the doctor that we did not expect for them to do something, but to give us a referral for a neurologist. The doctor said that they do not do referrals. Long story short we got a bill from the hospital ... for what??? might I ask??? I spoke to a Ms. Warren Johnson Mobley on three occasions over a 3 months period of time! She never got back to me! Never did anything! What an incompetent staff!!!!
