Food was awesome so as the location. I especially liked the french fries. Four stars as glasses were smelly. For some of the dishes they didn't care to provide serving spoons. But over all their service is too good to complain.

We had the pretzel and beer cheese for an appetizer and it was phenomenal! Then I had the French dip and let me tell you it was absolutely amazing. Our waitress was extremely helpful. We were beyond happy with our experience with this restaurant!

My friend and I stopped here for breakfast before a winery 40 min away. The food here was divine, the view was breath-taking, the service was prompt, the warmth of heaters was weather-appropriate, and the red cabbage was my first-ever discovery which became a new obsession because I loooooved it so much. The mashed potatoes here are the best in the world!We sat by the river and took it all in.My happy place for sure!When we returned after many hours in the evening for my friend’s forgotten credit card, it was safe and given to her right away. There were ladies DANCING outside which I loved!P.s: we initially went to a different cafe in the morning where we felt disappointed, and I unfortunately almost mixed up the two when writing my reviews this morning, sorry about that. This cafe is most definitely excellent and also offers live music.

Cafe International is definitely good and the Brats are a must when you visit Helen. It’s not anything too special but they do have a few Vegan options which is nice including a Vegan Brat. The views are also nice if you get a spot next to the Chattahoochee. If you want Brats then stop by!

We were driving from South Carolina to Marietta Georgia and saw that Helen was a cute little town so we decided to stop. The town is very cute but not much options to eat. We were going to eat at other places but this was the only one without a wait. There's a cute little patio that has live music right by it and it's covered too. We asked for a table and they brought us to a little crappy room. Our waitress was not the nicest and took a long time to come to our table. We ordered a pretzel and it was really good but it took a long time to come out. There weren't many options to choose on the menu so I just ordered another pretzel for myself. But it took almost 45 minutes to come out and we were kind of in a rush because we were visiting our friends an hour and a half away. We were going to use the bathroom but they were super dirty and there were only 2 so there was a really long line all the time but even one bathroom had no toilet paper!

Their vegan bratwurst was amazing! So glad we could eat “authentic” German food and not just a Beyond burger as vegans. It’s super important to have choices no matter what your diet is. Not to mention, our server was so nice (the one that suggested the vegan bratwurst). 10/10 will go again!!!

Five stars, yes it's great! I had the wurst plate and it was fantastic! The atmosphere, great scenery overlooking the river, a 32oz house pilsner. What else could anyone want?Food: 5/5

I only went here for snacks and beer but the staff was great, the beer cheese is to die for, the hot toddy is so great! There were also 2 guys singing which were really good.

This is a nice spot on the Chattahoochee river with a great view where you can relax and enjoy some drinks. Most of their space is outdoors but they do have a smaller indoor space as well. They don't have the option of a glass liter stein here unless you buy a glass boot which they really need to offer the glass steins that you don't have to buy. They do offer a plastic mug that is several ounces under a full liter that you can get discounted beers at several other spots in Helen with. They also offer food here but I never ate here although their menu did have a few items I found interesting. I think there are quite a few spots in town that offer better menus at least to my taste. Overall this seems like one of the few spots in Helen that are right on the river where you can enjoy that view along with some adult beverages. We had a delicious “wurst” platter for lunch. Excellent food in a nice outdoor space overlooking the River. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Would recommend!

Not handicap assessable.. stairs to get up or down for seating..we tried to get in, but 5 people writing down who and how many and we left after 1 hr because they never seated us.. bad bad bad .. owner didn't care either when I ask about our name..

They lie, they kept sitting guests, they don’t care…..
One hour wait for a table. Not a problem it’s what they did after we got the table.
For years we have eaten at this restaurant for our “German” Foor connection. Used to love it. Waited an hour for our outside table. Did not get outside table after the hour, good thing!
Then we sat. And we sat and we sat. Ordered our beers. Ordered our dinners. Finished our beers. No food. Waitress says there are 4 orders ahead of us and should be coming up shortly. Ordered more beer. Finished those. No food. Should only be a couple of minutes. Five tables around us, no food. Ninety minutes later, asked if the cook quit. Waitress says something to the effect that someone did walk out. No food. We ask for check. Waitress says if we leave she has to pay for it. Asked for manager, she says she is one. We ask why would she have to pay if the food has not been served. She says that’s the policy. Food is on the grill.
Two hours, we leave. Still no food at the five tables. We look into kitchen on way out. There is no one there!
I will never go back. In fact it soured me on Helen in general. Beers should have been comped. Apologies should have been issued. Nope, they were still sitting tables!
What a joke.
