Food was great. Service at the beginning was great. Where they sat us there were flickering lights the entire time. One in our party had an "accident" where his food didn't stay down. The crew handed us towels, gloves and cleaning spray for us to clean it. That was after paying. The menu is not $10 to $20 as advertised here. It's $20 to$40+. Safe to say, we will not be returning.

The food is really expensive and the service was not great. On a $10 Caesar salad, it was an extra $11 to add chicken to the salad. We had a party of 7 and my friend’s son got sick at the table and threw up and the staff made her clean it all up before we could leave. Never have I seen that happen in a restaurant.Kid-friendliness: No kids menu

We love this place! Great food, great service, and the ambiance has a Caribbean island feel!Food: 5/5

Sitting outside at Tortuga's, one might think they are indeed in the Caribbean. The setting is one of lush greenery, beautiful flowers, and plants and herbs that they use in the kitchen. With the fans blowing, even in the heat of summer there is a breeze. We like sitting outside and just taking in the laid back vibe for brunch. In the two times we've eaten at Tortuga's, service has been friendly and efficient, the food selection and quality superb. Most recently, we had their Sunshine Breakfast and their grit cakes over crab cakes. Both were delicious and the crab cakes were fresh with loads of meat. Paired with a beer and a mimosa was the perfect brunch.

We tried a different place and saw that they had an obvious political point of view/ agenda and left. We came to Tortugas and Ruby was our waitress. She was polite, respectful and wonderful. The food was great. My husband was trying to decide between 2 sandwiches and you were out of one of the main ingredients. We will be back when you have it. Thank you!

Sadly the worst meal we have had since moving to Savannah three years ago.Came in for an early light dinner. Spinach salad: small, barely a 1/4 piece of bacon, one egg, good dressing, add on was $10 for 5 shrimp. Total $25 salad!!!Hubby's Grouper BLT and this was the special!!. Texas Toast, I don't think so. Lettus needed trimming, protein was small in every way and they even skimp on the spoon of rice and black beans.Sadly, a real disappointment.

We had a Spinach salad and added shrimp. We also had a non remarkable bp&j and a Ponce Delion. I must have not paid attention to the menu because it came with 25 slices of Jalepenos.I don't mind a little heat so I took off 16 and left 9. It was a good sandwich. We ended sharing 2 bread puddings for 3 people. Eating outside we saw a small park but the gate was locked. It had a small pier and a good view of the river. We would return in the future.

Great little spot away from everything. The food was fantastic and being away from the crowded downtown area was even better. They were dog friendly and even brought out a water bowl.Food: 5/5

I go there for lunch often, they have the best burger. The homemade chips are really good. Service is always good.

I used to get whiny because I'd drive by and it was "never open" when I was there. That was my own damn fault bc I never took the time to look at their hours...This time I caught them open and *sheeeeeeesh*! Yes, I was hungry so my taste buds may have been a little biased at the time. I had the Jimmy Lew chicken sandwich. Quite frankly, the BEST chicken sandwich I've ever had. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. The place was at about 3/4 capacity and the service was excellent and timely. Prices were very reasonable also.Check the hours before you head that way, but definitely make it a point to stop by.

This is right along the river in Thunderbolt. My group of 6 rolled in for brunch right at 10 or so. There was plenty of seating available, indoors and out. We opted to stay inside where it was nice and cool. The food was great. The asiago on the grits was good, though cheddar was also. The french toast was far and away the best dish. Everyone in the group wanted to try some and said it was great. Though everything else we got (omelettes, sandwiches, etc) was really good. They state they are a little understaffed, but our server was always there when needed. Though our food wasn't all ready at exactly the same time. For a small restaurant and the group we had, not an issue. Especially since some of it was the server needing to make a second trip anyway.

Can't honestly rate the food, we never got any. Came in around 7pm for a quick dinner, thought the ratings and pictures looked good, we were there until 8:45pm with nothing more than water, though thank goodness for that, otherwise we would've had to wait another half hour for the check. The server seemed nice enough, but she talked to us maybe twice, once to tell us the specials and get our orders, once to tell us it would be out soon. 30 minutes after she said that, we decided to just cut our losses and go somewhere else so we could at least get to eat something. I don't like doing that, I know that puts servers in a bad position, but it was over an hour for a panini and a chicken sandwich!
