Tristan was amazing! He taught my husband how to surf by the fifth attempt. Tristan was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and did very well teaching an old dog new tricks. We are hoping to go back for an intermediate class soon.

Private session with Mike was epic - he took me to a locals spot where nobody else was around, made sure I was safe and having fun, and knew the ocean soo well. Highly recommend!

Great experience for us first timers. Excellent text communication from Mike and Andy starting about 24 hours out. They picked a great location, sparsely populated just at the base of the mountains (Panalu’u beach park). Andy was super helpful with instructions AND providing local recommendations for lunch/dinner and future surf locations. He even offered to meet us later in the day with surf boards for rent, if we wanted to surf on our own later in the day.
5 stars all day and I would highly recommend 808 Surf School if you are visiting the north shore of Oahu!!!

My partner and I booked a private session with Andy and had an amazing time. Andy showed us the basics of learning to surf, and my gf was able to stand up on her second wave. Definitely book your lessons with 808 and ask for Andy - you’ll have a rad time. Much love and mahalo nui loa from the Canadians!

Andy was a wonderful instructor! This is my first time surfing. I wanted to do it the right way. I’m so glad I went with 808 surf school! I had such a fun time and we had the entire area all to ourselves. We spent a lot of time in the water. If I had enough energy Andy would get me on the waves one after another. I got so much out of the lesson!

We had such a great experience with Andy. There were four of us who are all beginners, two being kids who were both feeling a little scared to start off with. He made us all feel safe and all of us were standing up and rising waves by the end.

Andy was an incredible instructor and he was able to get me up on the board and catching waves in no time. As I told him, he is the "Wave Whisperer" and knew exactly which wave to choose. Additionally, he was able to provide me the exact suggestions when needed. Andy is also a really cool local guy who eats and sleeps surfing so the next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to reach out to 808 again to improve my surf game. Do yourself a favor and go with 808 Surf School vs some of the other schools for the best surf lesson experience on Oahu!!!

My kids just had the best morning with their instructor Andy! the beach for lessons was perfect - just them and the waves ? - plus a great place for the momma to get pictures ? ! 10 out 10 highly recommended ?
