Babk 9f Hawai'i gas taken nearly 500 dollars in nsf fees and return fees from me since April. I have called twice ladt month to ask for some sympathy or mercy concerning these fees. Both times, I was denied. Today, I spoke to an agent via their live chat and was again denied any mercy from the bank . The agent Aahley disconnected the chat while I was typing. Over 4 years with this bank and the customer service is ALWAYS sub par. They do not care about your well-being, only their profits and gains

Hawaii has hidden racism. This bank displays it proudly. I could feel it when I walked in the door and feel it when the teller tired to talk down to me. Hawaii isn't all it seems to be nor are the people and services.

Ridiculous limit of $300 cash withdrawal from the ATM with a $4 fee. It isn't 1980. Make the limit $1000 like a normal bank.

Worst bank ever. If I could give zero stars I would. Cannot do any transactions without a appointment. Lines are incredibly long. Online banking does not get posted forever. Worst bank I have ever felt with. Caused me more problems and takes forever to post any transactions. Worst bank ever. If you do not have a "appointment " you do not get to talk to anyone. WORST BANK EVER

OMG, this lady (teller) that helped me with making a deposit was so rude. I had a question about how to look for the whole numbers of my accounts too. She talked to me in a condescending way, her facial expression was so unpleasant. I wish I had gotten her name. I took a picture of her though when she moved to the section where there are desks and chairs. She is ugly inside out.

I have bought and sold many properties over time, and have had many mortages. I have NEVER experienced what I can only call "harrassment" by BOH loan department before from any other bank. In addition to losing faxes, claiming they never received them, only to later "find" portions of the fax, I was basically harrassed for documentation of every dollar involved in my disclosure, even things that only amounted to a few hundred dollars in a million-dollar loan. Every time I was told "this is the last thing we need", they came back with 4 more trivial "necessary" items. I cancelled my application, and just paid cash. I would avoid BOH unless you want to spend countless hours being harrassed on a daily basis

The personnel at this Waikiki Branch need to be a bit more patient, especially the filipina Bank Teller, when it comes to people with disabilites, especially someone like myself with a hearing loss situation! Her horrible, unprofessional attitude needs to be adjusted by the GM of this branch ASAP! It seems she as a chip on her shoulder of Grandness that needs to be address soon! The BOH Waikiki Beach branch is not my favorite branch, even though, i live 4 blocks from it! I do not recommend this branch unless you want to get rude customer service!

Horrible customer service !First of all I am 8 month pregnant and I wanted to deposit check on our joint account . Check was written to my husband'a name . Amount on a check is average what I usually deposit for him. So the check is always from the same business name and it's always available on the next business day . I been depositing this checks for 2 years now ! This time they told me to wait 3-4 days . I was upset with that and explained that it's usual transaction for us and they should look it in their system . They asked me who was a the last person that let this deposit to come thru on a next business day and I told them I "don't remember HIS name" . They laughed at me and said that there are no guys that work there ! Like I was crazy psycho but I remember for sure it was a male clerk last time . Later on they told me "what if you trying to steal your husband's money" because check wasn't on my name but my husband's! I feel like it's unacceptable to treat pregnant woman like this ! And any other customer ofcourse . NOT COMING There again !!! For sure not without my husband. Because no one has a right to tell me and judge that I am "stealing from my husband" while I try to make a deposit to joint account ! Also I have my business account in a bank of Hawai'i and been client for years but never felt this mistreated in a branch !

I'm not a customer at this bank, but I came in to cash a check that came from Bank of Hawaii. I know there are a lot of dishonest people out there, but I believe there are more honest people - at least I would like to think so. Banks and businesses shouldn't treat potential customers as if they were dishonest though. Don't make me feel that I am suspect with your tone and attitude from the get-go just because I'm trying to cash my check. Don't make honest people who could potentially open up an account with you feel like they are not trusted. I did not appreciate feeling like that as I am an honest person. I know you need to protect your business, but you need to do it in a way that doesn't alienate your potential customers. Because of the way your teller made me feel, it made my decision easy to open up an account at your competitor's branch.

I am customer of First Hawaiian bank and visit the Lahaina branch on a weekly basis and today I was racially profiled at this branch today. All of the customers waiting in the bank teller line before me and the ones who were at tellers along side of me were asked for the last four digits of their socials and their DL to verify their identity. I too was asked the exact same information and then was told to pull down my mask so that she (the teller) could match my face to my DL. When I asked why was I being asked to do this and not everyone else in the bank line, I wasn't given an answer, only a blank stare. I told the teller that I was insulted by this and asked to speak to the branch manager who arrived with a fake apology and said the had a meeting today about better ways to identify customers and this was one of the solutions they came up with. I am totally fine with the bank establishing new protocols to verify identity (if this is truly the case). My issue is why was I (the only black person in the bank) selected to test your "new protocol". I am highly offended by this teller's behavior and the branch manager's as well and will be escalating my complaint as I would like for the senior level manager to review this morning's bank footage and see how many tellers asked other customers to pull down their mask to verify their identity. I know for a fact that their bank footage will only show me pulling down my mask to show my face. Shame on you Bank of Hawaii. ... Read More

If you have to go main branch be prepared to wait. They shrank the branch, made it feel modern but I think there are only 6 tellers (May be 8 max). The tellers are courteous and friendly but the wait is irritating. I've always had to wait in line. May be this is how they are encouraging you to do more online banking. BTW. At American Savings Bank main branch they is usually not a line or if there is there is only 2-3 people.

Great evening market! Save your appetite and dine at the Bank of Hawaii Waikiki Center Farmer's Market. There are so many vendors to peruse. You can get souvenirs, temporary tattoos, fresh fruits and veggies, desserts or dinner. We picked up a salad and fresh cut mangos. There's something for everyone!

I go here for work reasons - dropping off deposits / making change. The staff here is super friendly & helpful! They have a few new tellers in training right now so please be patient when going in as they tend to get nervous over the littlest things. They're definitely a friendly bunch to start my morning work errands.
