I had a very disappointing experience at this branch.
I went in to complete the process of opening a checking and savings account and provided my valid state ID — the same one I use daily for business, purchases, and DMV transactions. The branch manager claimed it wasn’t valid and refused to move forward with my account.
While I was still in the branch, my father and I contacted the management team above the branch level, who immediately confirmed that my ID was completely valid and acceptable. Only after that confirmation did the branch proceed with opening my account.
The whole situation was confusing, frustrating, and unnecessary. I hope this branch takes this as an opportunity to better train staff and ensure customers are treated with fairness and respect.

Denied my daughter a bank account. She just moved to the island. She has a huge amount to deposit too. Disappointing for sure.

BEWARE: ATM errors at this bank.
Disappointing trip to this bank. Took out $500 from the ATM and only received $200. Janelle was extremely rude and dismissive. The manager was not helpful either. In the end we have to dispute their error with our bank and wait. At the very least they could have reimbursement the ATM fee. NEVER USE THEIR ATM!!!!!!!!!!!!

very bad and slow service! long lines. I got into a difficult situation while traveling, we ran out of money on the card. But I had cash. We could not buy a ticket home due to the fact that here you can not put money on the card of another bank. Even for a commission. I find this unacceptable! I spent half a day walking around the banks and asking! I do not recommend dealing with this bank! They not good.

Babk 9f Hawai'i gas taken nearly 500 dollars in nsf fees and return fees from me since April. I have called twice ladt month to ask for some sympathy or mercy concerning these fees. Both times, I was denied. Today, I spoke to an agent via their live chat and was again denied any mercy from the bank . The agent Aahley disconnected the chat while I was typing. Over 4 years with this bank and the customer service is ALWAYS sub par. They do not care about your well-being, only their profits and gains

Hawaii has hidden racism. This bank displays it proudly. I could feel it when I walked in the door and feel it when the teller tired to talk down to me. Hawaii isn't all it seems to be nor are the people and services.

This bank in general is not helpful at all.Old system, no good customer services or people who want to help.I have been having the same conversation over months already and one simple matter is handled yet. It’s almost been a year and they still think it’s okay not to do their job.I will change my account to somewhere else because clearly I am wasting my time with them.I DO NOT recommend this bank.

Ridiculous limit of $300 cash withdrawal from the ATM with a $4 fee. It isn't 1980. Make the limit $1000 like a normal bank.

Worst bank ever. If I could give zero stars I would. Cannot do any transactions without a appointment. Lines are incredibly long. Online banking does not get posted forever. Worst bank I have ever felt with. Caused me more problems and takes forever to post any transactions. Worst bank ever. If you do not have a "appointment " you do not get to talk to anyone. WORST BANK EVER

Best banks EVER on the islands! Many ATM's, easy access to your cash, brick and mortar banks for other transactions, Loans from biz to home me, home equity. Glad there are so many around the islands to serve the locals and visitors!

This review is for the bank, not the branch. Unlike several other banks, they never send email or paper notifications for important account matters or statements. So expect missed deadlines unless you regularly check your account looking for maintainence. And they will close the account, without any forewarning of the concern for an outstanding $12 fee. Surprisingly though, after they sent the account to collections, THEN they will mail you a notice to pay them. Which somehow arrived 2 weeks after the date on the letter. When I called - they cited "that somewhere in the contract, when you opened the account, we probably had it stated you need to take care of the account". These guys are lucky to be operating in a monopoly with no mainland competition - otherwise they would be bankrupt. Because they don't understand it's more profitable to keep business, rather than kick it to the curb and try to get new business. Literally a simple reminder, which every other bank does that I have, would have prevented this. All in all, don't expect help when you need it, and expect to get screwed when you least expect it, as this bank operates with a handicap and defensive attitude. Short this stock - it's definitely going to lose in the long run.

OMG, this lady (teller) that helped me with making a deposit was so rude. I had a question about how to look for the whole numbers of my accounts too. She talked to me in a condescending way, her facial expression was so unpleasant. I wish I had gotten her name. I took a picture of her though when she moved to the section where there are desks and chairs. She is ugly inside out.
