I entrusted Tax Services of Hawaii, specifically Gorden, with the preparation of our taxes. Unfortunately, this decision led to a significant setback for our business and personal life. We were recently informed by the IRS that we owe a whopping $30K for 2019 and an even more daunting $55K for 2020. He single handenly made sure my quickbooks was lost so my current CPA would struggle putting the pieces back together and costing me more money. We at first thought we were lucky to have found Gorden and loved his advice. The words didn't match the above-mentioned mistakes. The entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. When seeking professional tax services, efficiency and effectiveness are paramount. Sadly, I did not find these qualities at Tax Services of Hawaii. I strongly advise potential clients to think twice before using their services.

Waaayyy and ridiculously Overpriced for a job that took my new accountant less than half an hour and 1/12th of the price. Not kidding. Wow just wow. Thank God for honest people in the world who sleep well at night. We couldn't live without them! I absolutely love my new accountant and will return to her for many years to come. As requested via email please shred all the documents that were shared with you. Mahalo.

I had never needed a tax professional before because my returns are fairly simple, but the GET was tripping me up and I realized I had overpaid. I didn't know where the amounts were coming from anymore or how to fix it, so I called Tax Services of Hawaii. Sheri helped me sort it out the very same day. She organized the information, explained to me where I went wrong, and walked me through amending my G-49 so I could get a refund. What I appreciate the most is that she didn't just fix it for me, she taught me and gave me a reference sheet so I can do it myself next time. It was during tax season and I didn't expect to get helped so quickly. I would recommend these excellent tax professionals to anyone.

What can I say? Gorden is the best! Just talking to him, I already know my business is in good hands. What I admire the most is, he doesn't throw papers in my face and expects me to understand. He actually takes his time explaining every detail. Thank you Gorden for putting my mind at ease. Tax Services of Hawaii also has a front receptionist name Sheri, she is the reason why I went with the company to begin with. Super sweet and definitely has a lot of patience. She answers all my questions the best knowledge she can. I call her 50x, she answers the phone without any attitude unlike other tax service companies that think they have better things to do. When she is busy, she calls me back right away. Overall I love the communication and the way they handle their customers. They are very on it! I wish I found them sooner.

Gordon and his team did a fantastic job. I was looking for a highly rated tax service and found a good one. I liked that Tammy returned my contact email the same day. She guided me through the initial process. Very courteous. I should mention this was a long distance filing, I live on the mainland and was doing dad's taxes (he's in a nursing home). Did'nt know exactly what documents I should send but no worry, Gordon called to advise me what else was needed. He followed it up with an email about our conversation. In the end what I though could be a difficult task turned out to be painless and easy. Go with them!

Tammy was extremely professional and patient. She is a wealth of knowledge and took time to explain in detail what steps she and I would take to ensure successful completion of my taxes. She is not only thorough in her process but efficient as well, as we needed to meet a specific deadline. I highly recommend Tax Services of Hawaii and will definitely be back in future.

Being so busy, we did the extension to buy us some time. Then in October, my wife and I finally finished our taxes... and even got some money back! Thanks to Gorden Gates and the staff at Tax Services Hawaii, we realized it wasn't that hard to do! In fact, this great experience made us decide to file on time next year!

It was the final week tax season 2017 and I was panicking. I had called all over town to find anyone that might be available to help me prepare my taxes (can't remember why I was so late). Needless to say, everyone I spoke with was smashed with returns. My final call was to Tax Services of Hawaii and I spoke with Gorden. He immediately scheduled an appointment with me; we met and literally went through my shoe box of records. He not only had my return completed on time, I was getting a nice little refund. So of course he continued to prepare my return for 2018 and 2019. This guy continues to amaze me. Since I started using him, Tax Services of Hawaii has developed a system so that you can log in to post your information and records and communicate any questions. It is absolutely user friendly and awesome. This year I ended up owing the feds; he prepared my return and then went through it again with a fine tooth comb to see if he could reduce what I owe. He shall forever be my hero. Because he and his company are so easy to work with and so dedicated to good service, I am no longer in fear of tax season!

I had a difficult tax problem and was searching on google for someone who could help me. Tax Services of Hawaii was the first website to pop up and I checked them out. I watched their video and it taught me some things I wasn't aware of so I dug deeper into their site. There was a lot of timely information there. The comment of "No Shame!" was friendly and I got the feeling they really cared. I went on yelp and saw another 20 different local tax specialists and went down a few rabbit holes. Many of them had prices listed and were basically competing on price. My situation was complex so I knew I couldn't go with the lowest bidder. You get what you pay for. I checked out YouTube and found some testimonial videos by Tiny Tadani of Tiny TV who said the owner of Tax Services of Hawaii, Gorden Gates, helped him a lot and saved him a ton of money. I called their offices and explained my situation and the admin assistant Tammy was friendly and invited me to come to the office for a quick meet and greet. After explaining my situation, Gorden took out a piece of paper and in 15 minutes mapped out exactly what I needed to do to solve the problem and be safe. He gave me options but showed me the projected results of each path in PLAIN ENGLISH. I left his office feeling confident that I had a solid plan of action that would take care of my issues. It was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. The actual process was very fast. Once I sent Gorden all of my docs, the turnaround time was less than 24 hours. After checking the final returns, he did everything he said he could according to the plan he mapped out. If you're looking for an insightful professional team that provides great value, is fast, accurate, thorough and professional... Gorden Gates and Tax Services of Hawaii are the best tax professionals in Hawaii. Thanks again, Gorden! You saved the day!

Gordon is the best tax planner we've worked with after working with many tax advisors in California prior to coming to Hawaii. He is able to work through our personal and small business taxes and spend the time to do tax planning strategies. You will walk away with a plan to successfully reduce your taxes.

We have been working with Gorden and his team for only a month and we are absolutely THRILLED with the services we've experienced! This April, 2 weeks before the tax deadline, our former tax preparer informed us that our business taxes were too complicated for her and that we needed to find a CPA - panic time! I was so worried that no company would take us on so close to the deadline since they'd all be so busy. I called 5 different places that I found on Yelp - they all said no. Thankfully, I then called TSH and spoke with Stewart. He answered all of my questions and said they'd gladly take us on as a client! It was SO SO easy and convenient to file with them - everything was done online, so no need for an appointment to go over everything. We uploaded the necessary documents, they organized the files and Gorden called us when everything was ready. This is when I got even more impressed...in the peak of their busiest season, Gorden called us and spoke to us for over 30 minutes about our filing, but also consulting us about our future business plans. We have since met with Gorden and plan to meet with him every 6 months to analyze our business performance and to ensure we are utilizing the tax benefits that we deserve. This company is professional, friendly, tech savvy, and definitely up to date on the latest tax and business laws. We are SO grateful to have found them and hope to work together for years to come!

This year I was looking for a new CPA, so I turned to trusty yelp and found Tax Services of Hawaii. I sent an email inquiry, and within the hour, I received a reply from Gorden Gates. After confirming we wanted him to proceed, the engagement letter followed along with easy instructions to upload all my tax supporting documentation onto a secure online portal. I will say that that Gorden made this painful process, well, pain free! He is quick to reply to emails and questions (which I totally appreciate), is super thorough, is very knowledgeable on current tax laws, efficient and organized, and he offered great tax advice for future withholdings so that we can avoid having to owe the IRS in 2019. I have already recommended him to family and friends and can't emphasize how happy I am with the service he provided.

My husband and I have just registered our business as a LLC and we were somewhat overwhelmed with the amount of forms etc. needed for IRS Tax purposes both for the business and for our own personal taxes. We had engaged a firm on mainland US who prepared our Tax Returns for 2017 - not easy as we had moved from U.K. during that year. Unfortunately they were not able to give us the information we needed so we hunted around for Accountants in Honolulu. We found Tax Services of Hawaii, looked at their website, read some reviews and decided to contact them. I can't praise them highly enough - when you phone them you reach Tammy who is reassuring and welcoming. She put us in touch with Gorden and we had a sit down chat with him. He is amazing! We feel confident knowing that our returns are being professionally dealt with, and Tax Services of Hawaii are so incredibly helpful and guide you through every stage line by line. Thoroughly recommended.
