Purchased a paddle 1 year ago and was sized 3 inches too short. This last paddling season there were 7 of us that were sized incorrectly that purchased paddles from Sue too short for us. I have made several attempts to come by to purchase another paddle but the store is never open. Went by today on my day off from work and there was a hand written. Note saying if you need help to call her with her her number. It went straight to voicemail with a full mailbox and absolutely no way to reach her. I am flying to Oahu to purchase a new paddle next week and will never give her a single dime of my time or money again.

Im not entirely sure why theres such bad reviews. I had called ahead to get rubber shims for my Thule racks and the owner was very responsive. They had to search a bit to find them but held them to the side for me. It was a big help because you can't find these online easily. She even showed me some of the Thule racks she sells that you couldn't get even from Thule website as it's been discontinued. I forgot to ask for her name but she seems like the straight forward no BS type of person. But still is more than happy to help if you ask for it. Id recommend this store to anyone

Owner is a cranky Debbie Downer and a HORRIBLE salesperson. Unless you can self-serve your purchase (i.e., clothing) or know exactly what you want and can get it down from the shelf yourself, I suggest you look elsewhere. Otherwise you're up for a colossal waste of time.

Elderly lady / grouch working today spent more time talking with her friend at this counter about how great so and so is at paddling while we waited for her and her friend boring story to finish. Asked about decals (stickers) where she pointed to the cabinet and went about her merry way doing nothing useful. At the end I returned goods (while she carried on talking with her equally lameo friend) and left the store bc id rather waste my money on trash then customer service reps like her. You are better off ordering from Tahiti or Nz or online then wasting your time driving here to shop. They had some cool caps, and dry fit but paddles were ok. Photos must be from years ago.

Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The owner is rude to the point of being comical. I would rather paddle my canoe with a dustpan and a broomstick than give that horrible woman once more cent.

Sue is a one-woman, paddling expert. She determines what type of paddler one is, what one's needs are, and if appropriate, what one's team or club demands are. With this understanding of the person, she makes excellent recommendations to satisfy one's requirements. She will make sure one has exactly what one needs, which could mean she directs one to another source.She listens and assesses. Like a doctor, she focuses on one person at-a-time. Being a one-person operation, one needs to take some initiative and make your presence known at the middle of the store. Be patient; you will be rewarded with the excellent choices.Experienced paddlers know what an important source is here in Kona and why she has scores of long-time customers.

They definitely have many paddle types and choices for your paddling pleasure. The owner knows her business. Check this place out. It's on the upper road before you reach Home Depot. Enjoy your fun in the sun!
