I asked one of the workers about fishing tips as I was ready to pay for my stuff and after getting more knowledgeable experience, i decided the tackle I choose to get didn’t suit fit for the type of fishing I wanted to do, so I ended up re-choosing some things and they helped verify a better fit of tackle. I went way, waaay out of my way to visit this store (from Waikiki) because of the high ratings and reviews. And my experience couldn't have been better. Kai stopped what he was doing and helped me selected what I needed, from selecting the proper reel for the pole I wanted, to picking out the best baits, lures, and other items to make the best out of my limited fishing experience. Items are priced very reasonable and can't be beat!

The staff all have in depth knowledge in different areas of fishing technique and tackle. You will never get Nanko's knowledge base and professionalism anywhere else. The Big Box stores can't touch 'em.
