Employees seem bored which reflects management. They avoid eye contact when you meet them in the aisles—probably afraid you’ll ask them to help find something. Definitely not my first choice to shop there.

Hi, I don't shop a lot at Safeway but I was able to get my booster's at Safeway Kihei. I feel bad for the lone pharmacist, John. I might be more inclined to get my prescriptions filled at Safeway if it wasn't just one person to take, fill and check out a customer. Please consider more help in the pharmacy.Mahalo,Jennifer

This pharmacy is terrible. The guy who works there clearly doesn’t like what he does. He ignores the customers on purpose. I waited for at least 20 minutes. 10 minutes into it, I asked if anyone was working in the pick up section. He said hold on and proceeded to just stare at his computer for another 10 minutes. Nobody else was there. Nobody was on the phone. When he finally came over, he said I didn’t have any prescriptions. He asked when it was sent and I said yesterday. He literally laughed at me and said it was going to be at least 2 days before it gets filled because they are short staffed. I asked if he could just check to make sure it was received and again he laughed- said it would take days to filter through all the scripts.I then called my doctor and asked him to transfer the prescription over to Longs in Kihei. He did and that pharmacy was able to get me my medicine in less than 30 minutes. They literally put Safeway to shame.The experience described above was the last time I was there. A few months back, I had to explain to him that birth control is a preventative medicine. He tried to tell me it was not and I had to pay almost $100 for the birth control. It was only after the insurance spoke to him that he decided he could put in the effort to run it a different way.

5 stars- Convenient COVID vaccination and groceries in the same stop. As 5 star as a you can reasonably expect at a grocery chain pharmacy.2 star UPDATED: Pharmacist NOT helpful. I stood patiently waiting to ask a question about booster shots and he ACTIVELY ignored me. Even when I asked him if I was in the correct place to ask a question, he told me where to stand and still ignored me. Clearly he does not enjoy his job or more likely, the people he is there to help.

DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY!They literally don't answer the phone 75% of the time - just goes to voicemail & you often get sent to voicemail WHILE WAITING ON HOLD.Transferring my prescription to them was a hassle & they got the wrong dosage - not sure if it was their fault, but I couldn't reach them over the phone to rectify the issue.STICK WITH CVS/LONGS - they have their act together.

Very difficult to get in touch with. I said over the phone that I’ve been trying to get in touch for a week, but I’m now realizing it’s been a month since I moved out of Kihei. I’ve been hung up on about 10 times, and the one time I actually made it to the voicemail and it wasn’t already full, my message was ignored. Thank you for finally answering my call today but I don’t think it was fair to put me at the end of the line considering how long I’ve been trying to get help.

I am overall happy with the grocery pick up service. The substitutions are great and I love the little prize they include. One comment though is that twice now they have brought out my groceries in bags missing handles. I am on a walker and have to transport my groceries in two bags at a time holding my bag handles while holding the walker handles. Without handles I have no way to get my food inside my home. I live alone and being able to shop for food pick it up and get it inside and put up myself is critical to my independence. Please store staff- this service is not just about covid safety! Thank you!!

Horrible pharmacy. 2 bad experiences in 1.5 months. I made an appointment online at 9:30 am to get a covid 19 shot today at 12:30 pm and when I arrived they checked me in and I sat in the waiting room. 5 mins later thethe pharmacist, John, said they weren’t ready for me and I needed to come back an hour later. I asked why and he said they checked in the morning and there were no appointments, so they didn’t check for 4.5 hours?? The lady in the front office is great, John is who makes it a bad experience.On a previous time about a month ago, I went to get a transfer to refill my prescription from Seattle over here in Maui and John was very rude to me told me he was to busy and I had to wait to talk to him for 15 mins. I was the first person in-line right when they were supposed to open. Already started off bad but I waited for 15 mins and then John asked me what I needed. I said i have 2 more days of my meds till I’m out and he responded by telling me he is too busy and couldn’t get to filling my prescription for at least 4-5 days. What!?! How insane. I went to long drug down the street and what an amazingly better experience, and also filled my prescription in 24 hrs.I wasn’t even going to waste my time giving this review but hoping Safeway will read this review and fix the bad apple. For now id recommend going to Long Drugstore down the road.
