Best poke we've had on Maui. Loved the spicy poke especially. The ahi was very fresh and had a great texture.

Okay you guys we had plenty of poke throughout the island and this had be one of our favorites in the Lahaina area. We had poke from foodlands farms, fish market Maui, and other restaurants nearby and seriously this was our favorite poke from them all. They also have plenty of wine options and other liquor at such great prices. We ate here many times throughout this week. We will be back next year.

People aren't joking when they say liquor store poke is the best. We were recommended to come to Tamura's to try their poke. Most of their selection is fresh and their poke seems to be very popular, so it's better to go earlier in the day vs evening to get the best selection. Fresh poke was roughly $22-23/lb. My favorite is their ginger ahi poke and spicy scallops. They also sell uncooked spare ribs, but we weren't able to get some since they ran out. They'll provide chopsticks/forks and napkins when you pay. Highly recommend!

Best Poke spot in Maui. I literally come to Hawaii to eat at great poke spots. This one is by far my favorite on the island.

A great spot for poke to go! Make sure to get a variety as they’re all delicious. They also have a great selection of locally made liquors and beer.

We were only in Maui for 3 days and we chose to get poke twice from this Tamura location. We already know how fresh and great their poke are since we frequent other Tamura locations in Maui. $22/lb of fresh delicious poke, can't beat the price and taste. We got almost every poke they have and ate at our car. Staff are very friendly and nice, they take the time to talk to their customers. 100% recommend Tamura's for poke and of course if you need alcohol.

Best poke ever! You would think it would be random to buy Poke out of a liquor store but not so. The choices were all per lb. with the option to buy a side of rice for an additional $2. Don't expect what you would get at the mainland poke spots. It's much more simple and straight forward without all of the unnecessary toppings. You can also do half and half per container. Our favorite was the ahi ginger. Also note that it is a liquor store so there aren't tables to eat on. You have to carryout and eat some place else. Highly recommend!

EXCELLENT Ahi poke, it is so fresh, it basically melts in your mouth. It set the bar so high that I don't think I can eat poke anywhere else. The customer service is also phenomenal, the guy who was working at the Poke station recommended the best seller and the best beach to go to after. It's a MUST!

Had no idea a liquor store would have amazing poke of all kinds. The line was long a went quick. Picked some of the spicy pokes and garlic edamame. I went to refrigerator and picked up a mini sake. On the way to register I found dark chocolate with toasted coconut and the wife grabbed some Hawaiian fruit jellies. Very reasonable prices for quality poke.

Amazzzzzinnngggggggggg fresh poke! Some local said this was the best poke place on Maui. Yes it's in a liqour store and for 23 dollars a pound, this place is not playing around!!! They make a limited quantity per day to keep the quality which I appreciate. Compared to foodland, this place is double the price per pound almost but omgggggggg the freshness and flavor is unbelievable. I've been back twice already in two days because you can always sprinkle in some poke between meals and boy it's yum. They don't do poke bowls, they sell rice separately on the side. As for the rest of the liqour store? Idk! But get the poke!!! Worth the price.

Came here for some ahi tuna and wine. Definitely the best quality ahi tuna I've ever had and the prices are more then fair. Also grabbed a couple bottles of Maui wine from there as well. Definitely check this place out and get there early for the poke. The hype is real at this place.

The cashier at foodland actually recommended this place to us over their own poke so I was very eager to go there. The place is pretty much a deli counter inside a liquor store with a bunch of poke. We got there at 10 AM and they had everything, but we returned later the same day and they were pretty much sold out. Definitely come early. We got the spicy ahi, the shoyu, and the cooked scallops. They also have rice available to make your own poke bowl. This poke is on another level. It is without a doubt the best poke I've ever had. Huge chunks of ahi and it was sooo fresh. No fishy ness at all, the pieces almost melt in your mouth. The spicy was my favorite, but honestly anything you get here is probably good. A must try in Maui. We also went to the Tamuras in Kihei and it wasn't the same. If you are in the Lahaina area make it a priority to go to this one.

When someone told us to go to the liquor store to get the best poke in Maui, we were skeptical. One bite and we were sold!!! I think we went three or four times while on our trip for more! They were also great with guiding us to options that were gluten free!

5/31/22 *See SF Japantown Yelp - pictures to be uploaded if I can recover. Quality/Quantity - Small local supermarket that sells poke and alcohol, so you would think this would be PERFECT for someone like me! The poke was limited by the time we got here at 1:30pm ish. The poke looked fresh, and there was a long line; slightly unorganized. Not the business's fault, but the customers. I think everyone in line was trying to look into the case at the same time. Lots of other Maui and/or HI items for sale. Atmosphere - Plenty of free parking. Open 7 days a week from 10am until ?? See my picture. Starting 6/3/22 open daily from 10am to 6pm; as of 6/5 this has NOT been updated on Yelp. Poke hours differ, see picture - thank you for posting this! The bathrooms are right when you walk in, which is nice. No delivery service. No loyalty program - everyday low prices. Service - Good. Price - Reasonable prices, same or slightly above the other supermarkets. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1995 with your 12+ locations (includes markets and restaurants). 1920 Makitaro Tamura opened the first store. 1995 - Grandsons now own these locations.

Tamura’s is the go to shop for alcohol and to-go poke in Maui. We stopped by on our way to Haleakala and grabbed some beer and sake for our stay in Lahaina and also got poke for a picnic on top of Haleakala and couldn’t have been happier. Their beer, wine and liquor selection is excellent and their poke was phenomenal. Highly recommend!
