If there's a line with locals, it's good. We waited a little but outside (covid regulations), but after that it was fast. I had the huli huli chicken plate, it was delicious. Sizes are pretty big. Definitely worth the stop!

Love the local vibe the the shop. Food was delicious and affordable. The staff was friendly and ready to answer any questions. I will be returning if i'm back in Lihue.

Good spicy poke over rice. Poke seemed fresh and flavorful, but wish they put it over sushi rice instead of plain rice and wish they asked me which rice I wanted! Fried chicken was just ok though.

COVID-19 era review This spot is my Kauai go-to for fresh omiyage as gifts for Honolulu people...and for myself. I always order two to three dozen pieces of ginger fried chicken (12 pieces per order) and an order (10 pieces) of ginger shrimp. (I tried the fried wonton this time and should have probably eaten those fresh out of the fryer.) Be sure to tell the helpful staff that you are taking this on the airplane and they will not only pack your food neatly into boxes but they will also wrap the boxes neatly into pink butcher paper that look like gifts. I try to get these home to freeze overnight and on departure day pack into bags in bags in bags into my suitcase - which usually keeps it cold for the 4-5 hours it takes me to get island-to-island, door-to-door. The Hanamaulu Restaurant (RIP) chicken is outstanding. Slightly sweet, lightly gingery, a little bit of soy, light batter and loose skin that you can either eat or pull off and gift to a hungry partner. :0 The shrimp is much the same, the marinade and dredge are so tasty. I really have no idea what makes this stuff so good. The chicken, in particular, freezes really well - and I pop it into my air fryer on low to reheat and crisp up. With hot rice and some potato/mac, it gives me the taste of Kauai even when I'm back on Oahu. Bonus: these folks are some of the last holdouts I've seen with thermo face scanners and hand sanitizers posted prominently outside their front door. I kinda love the precautions as it says something about how they will treat you and your food. Don't let the dreary strip mall surroundings scare you. This place is fantastic! A Kauai favorite!

Stopped by here after a flight from another island. What a great experience! So much stuff to choose from its honestly a bit overwhelming. There are a lot of bowls and things made to order, but also tons of pre cooked food you can buy if you'd like. Anything from. Fried chicken to seafood. Lots of deserts and drinks too. We had two chirashi bowls. My partner has a shellfish allergy and we were asking the counter person what was safe to eat. She was super helpful and actually just asked what kind of fish she likes and made her a special bowl that was safe for her. The fish was fresh and everything tasted great. A good serving that had us mostly full and the prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality. Really wish we could go back and try all the other stuff they had, although that might take a year... If you're looking for no frills take out sushi, chirashi, poke, as well as a million things I don't know about, i don't think you'll find a better place than this!

This place has the best poke, sushi, and dessert options! It's more of a hole in the wall spot, but the food does run out pretty early! I'd recommend getting some items early in the morning and saving it for lunch. It's also really affordable compared to other fish poke places around the island. I got the ahi poke bowl, and the fish was so fresh and delicious! There were a lot of different poke options, and my favorite was the spicy ahi tuna. What stood out most were the "balls" or tofu wrapped rice topped with poke. It has a spicy, savory, and lightly sweet flavor. I've never had this before but it was just as delicious as it sounds and looks! For dessert, I tried the ube cheesecake and taro masaladas. Masaladas were a fried taro donut. The ube cheesecake was my favorite - it had a rich delicious ube flavor and the crust was perfectly buttery. I definitely recommend coming here!! I went here several times while visiting Kauai!

We landed, we were hungry and we went in search of poke! So happy to find this place. The service was very welcoming, the selection was huge, and their poke definitely hit the spot. Additionally if you are looking for some filipino food, they have some of that too! They had a hella good ube cheesecake. It was so good, we made sure to come back again before our flight home. Next time you are in Kauai you gotta check them out!

There is a good variety of poke available. Lots of combo plates with options like beef stew and laulau. Employees are friendly and helpful. There's always a line (which means it's good) but it moves fast because the employees are efficient. Definitely recommend.

My favorite poke spot in Kauai. I loved all the different options they have. Huge menu. The daily bento is great. I had two separate daily bentos - both were spicy ahi on sushi rice but one had a galbi side while another had chasu side. The chasu looked dry and hard but was perfectly crunchy with tender pork. Galbi was also good. All of the poke options were tasty and affordable around $15-18/lb. Be sure to also pick up some pieces of nigiri from the glass case near the checkout. You can't go wrong with any of the nigiri or inari options!

A place not to be underestimated! Super fresh poke with great flavors. It seems like a go to for locals which is a good sign. I can't stop thinking about it!!

Ginger chicken! Spicy poke bowls! Dumplings! Grab a drink and your takeout and drive over to eat it on a beach.

Great ahi poke bowls!

We ordered the ginger fried chicken and shrimp, as well as the tuna poke bowl. Ginger fried chicken and shrimp didn't really have much of a ginger taste to it, more like sweet mirin. It was a nice taste though. If we managed to get it just as it came out the fryer, that would have definitely increased our satisfaction of the dish. They price it by one piece with each piece costing $1-$2. Tuna poke bowl was fairly standard with nothing to particularly rave about. The sushi rice wasn't as good as other places I've had (may have been an off batch today!).

This place was like sushi heaven. They had all the poke I loved so I ordered 1/2 lb of the spicy poke and California poke. Then I looked to the left and found all kinds of inari and sushi bombs. I also had to get a couple of pieces of the ginger chicken and the fried wontons to see what people were raving about. The poke, inari, and sushi bombs were spot on. I wish we bought more. So happy they open pretty early in the morning. We got there at 7am and avoided the crowds. Don't forget to grab a tub of the butter mochi! This is definitely the place to go back to to get poke, inari and sushi bombs. I would pass on the fried stuff.
