The place displayed 1.59 water instead 2.09The big woman was extremely dismissive and abrupt cut me off and said we dont price our water. When showed she said it was old.Store missed out on money because of her nasty attitude!Tourist go elsewhere!Locals encourage better!

Nice local gas station connected to a diner. You can get fancy coffee, house made subs to order and pizza to go in the afternoon among other grab and go items.

We stayed a mile from this store and visited very often because it has great variety and we'll stock, the lady there is so nice and helpful. If she didn't sell what I was looking for, but had it in her kitchen she would just share or point to the store that have it. Also this store is open when most others are closed.

Be aware. Overcharged me both times I went. First time, realized at the cash register. Second time, didn't realize until home. (That's on me for not checking...) Sheesh ?

Cool shop, not much variety and it’s very expensive. It does it’s job for being in the middle of nowhere. Pizza and subs sold inside. Thick slices.

Loved the veggie subs! There were so many veggies to choose from so the sandwich was filling and not at all boring. Great place to stop for subs to take to Volcanoes National Park for a nice picnic lunch. They even put the sauce on the side so the sandwich wouldn't get soggy. And there are plenty of snack options to go with the subs.

Its clean little general store. It has fresh bread sandwiches and pizza that that you can add what you want on it. There were 2 of us and it filled us up with 1/2 leftover at first it doesnt look very big but its deep and worth $15. They have a little of everything except the only thing I couldnt find is a Redbox so pick up your movie before heading to Volcano Village area if your staying the night.

This general store has great sub sandwiches where you choose your own toppings and they are made fresh for you! It is a great option when a lot of other restaurants in Volcano are closed. They also have delicious macadamia nut bars and mac nut cookies!

Kilauea General Store made me feel like the Prodigal Tourist! The first of my Big Island trips occurred during Christmas of '99, and I had spent a night in the town of Volcano so I could more fully enjoy the park. And there were some magical moments, including my "Star Story."So, for my wife and daughter's first visit to Big Island, I was hoping to recreate some of the magic I had experienced during my trips. Of course, I booked a night in Volcano again, hoping to make new memories, and maybe relive and share a new "Star Story."But apparently a lot can happen in 22 years. Like the location of my "Star Story," the parking lot of the Hale Ma'uma'u Crater, doesn't even exist anymore. It fell into the freakin' crater! After checking in to Volcano Inn, where I stayed 22 years ago, we were anxious for a good meal. Except it was 4:30 on a Monday, and apparently Volcano residents don't usually eat on Mondays, because almost every restaurant is closed on Mondays. Granted, we all hate Mondays, but seriously? One option was going to be closing in 30 minutes, and the other option wouldn't be opening for 30 minutes, and was EXPENSIVE, from what I saw on their menu. So, being the cheap swear-word that I am, we decided to pop over to Kilauea General Store, and just picked up some snacks for an impromptu dinner. For me though, I had that déjà vu feeling, like I had been there before. Because I had been there before. I vaguely recognized the whole place: not just the store, but the Lava Rock Café, which I ate at 22 years ago! Even the gas station out front. Kinda brought a tear to my eye.Okay, the whole tear thing is exaggerated hyperbole! The reason I'm giving Kilauea General Store 5 stars is because they had in stock Hanalei Island IPA; my favorite and really only beer I like! Kona Brewing Company, in Kona, where they MAKE it, doesn't even stock it. Was one of the reasons I was so excited to come to Big Island, to be a five minute walk away from Hanalei Island IPA Nirvana! So, mahalo Kilauea General Store, for making this alcoholic happy!

Excellent pizza, and very nice people! Get there early because they do run out of pizza dough towards the end of the day.
