Just minutes from the bustle of downtown Chicago in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, Pequod’s has been a staple in this area for more than 40 years. In that time, it has expanded to two locations, updated its menu to include thin-crust pizza, appetizers and desserts, and Italian fare like pastas and salads, and been featured on TV across the nation, all while continuing to provide late-night dine-in and delivery of its highly sought-after deep dish. Make your reservation and experience the best pizza Chicago has to offer today!

If you read On The Origin of Species: Pizza Edition, deep-dish might seem like a horrible evolutionary mistake that would make Darwin roll in his grave. It's polarizing - people either love it or hate it, and it's frequently hated by people who've never even eaten it.
About the restaurant & décor: Among the pizza giants in Chicago, Pequod's earns its name. Started in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, it made a home on a not-so-neighborhoody corner of Lincoln Park. Inside, feel the Chicago warmth, though, complete with the divey interior: exposed brick walls, high-tops covered with cheesy pies and pitchers of beer, and locals and tourists from every corner of the city. The second floor is cozier than the first, and a good spot to wish the winter away.Likes: This deep-dish vies for the crown of 'za.Dislikes: Service can be spotty and wait times can be long (although you can request a table with more than 24 hours' notice).Food & Drinks: No surprises here: Thin-crust and pan pizzas are staples with toppings such as giardiniera, pepperoncini and Canadian bacon. Unlike other pizzerias, their version is more balanced, a 1-1 ratio of topping to cheese to sauce. Personal-size seven-inch pies are a solid choice when diners can't agree on ingredients. Sandwiches, pasta and pub grub round out the menu. Draft beer is popular, and wine is available, too. Also located at 8520 Fernald Ave., Morton Grove, 847-470-9161.
