I used them before for my Camry when it was out of warranty and had great service. Now I'm bringing my Ford Flex and am very confident in their abilities. My husband fixes our vehicles for certain items, so to find a shop I trust is so useful for the bigger items.

This Midas will go out of their way to help you. I have always had superior service and have even been referred there by my regular mechanic for some repairs on my exhaust system.

I was disappointed with the last two times with oil change services recently, 29 Aug 2023I have coupons for oil change and tire rotation,So they did not perform tire rotation, and he told me its done, but I found that I have cut on my tire, and it's still the same on the front passenger tire as it is then how its done ??? they did not change the label inside for next time oil change mileage, nothing. I dont know, even if they changed the oil or not. I have no idea its still black as I checked very badly,2e time they forgot they forgot the break fuild cap its hard time to tell they always right but after that they found it was dropped in engine during take out the car out sideBecareful everyone.....

Had my transmission replaced in a different state to find out three months later after moving here that the flywheel was overlooked and was cracked. Karlo the manager listened to my concerns and was able to replace with O.E parts at fair pricing (Dealer labor rate 210. vs theirs) huge savings. I am extremely happy with the repair as well as appreciating not being upsold on repairs not needed ie.. rear main seal was NOT leaking and did not need to be replaced at this time. Will be bringing vehicle back for more repairs I know need to be done on my vehicle as well as a slew of repairs needed on husbands truck. I cannot thank Karlo enough for making something potentially so stressful not stressful at all.

Called for oil change appointment, Carlo said I'd have to drop car off around 11:00.He said They were busy, I asked nicely, is there anything sooner. He said alright bring it in at 10:00. The parking lot was empty and they were working on 2 cars, and 4 mechanics were there. Finally took my car, and later a mechanic comes get me. Car hood wouldn't open, I didn't know that was an issue till 15 minutes later. So I went to the back with mechanic, and surely the hood wasn't opening. I said something is wrong, I've never had an issue before. Young Man came out yelling all hyper "I need to start charging you per hour". He was so rude all jacked up, I'm not a little girl for him to yell at me. I said y'all must of done something to my car clutch. Then the old mechanic yelled and said "You think we would break your car?" I stayed quiet, and then the tall old mechanic said sorry for yelling at you, but we wouldn't break something in your car. Although he apologized, I was still upset and stayed quiet. The rudeness, they make it seem like they are the only mechanics in Des Plaines. I've learned in Life, It's not what you say to people, it's HOW YOU SAY IT. Plus why do your staff smoke cigarettes where cars are being worked on? In the garage itself the old tall mechanic was smoking, I've never seen that before at no other mechanic shops. I went home and told my husband and he was livid. He looked at the hood. All it needed was some WD40, and 2 minutes later the hood is open. Husband said what kind of crappy mechanics they got over there. Definitely we won't go there again, neither will my family. Sure y'all don't care, cause I can tell by what you've hired.

Customer service at the Midas Des Plaines location on Oakton , went above and beyond. I had my car towed to Midas early evening. I was told they would look at it the following day. The manager, Karlo Perssico called me late morning with the diagnostic report and completed the repair by the afternoon. When I picked up my car, Karlo Perssico showed me the diagnostic report and went over repairs. The following day my car lost power. I immediately called Midas. Without question, Eric arranged for free towing and assessed the problem. They determined it was a problem with the engine. I went in person to speak to Karlo Perssico. He explained that the engine rod had broken and that the problem could not have been detected before it occurred. Although I was quite upset, Karlo Perssico remained calm and listened. He suggested the engine may be eligible for the Hyundai engine recall. He told me Midas would work with me to get a new engine but first would reach out to Hyundai to share what Midas suspected. Karlo Perssico called 3 Hyundai dealerships to get recall details and help determine my best option. I had my car towed to Hyundai that day after Karlo Perssico explained his suspicions to the dealership. It took Hyundai two weeks to confirm what Karlo Perssico had suspected. Without any other effort on my part, Hyundai is now replacing my engine free of charge. Karlo Perssico’s calm, reassuring manner and professional commitment to help me through the process of working to get my engine replaced under the Hyundai recall was above and beyond expectation! If you are looking for trustworthy quality car repair services, go see Karlo Perssico at Midas in Des Plaines!

I don't have anything except positive things to say about Midas. My brake light came on, which turned into the master cylinder, front brakes, a brake line, the wheel cylinders, and the rear adjusters. It actually turns out the Car X across the street who did a blown brake line for me last September missed that my back brakes weren't functioning at all, but Midas caught it and got them working again. Car X actually missed this TWICE: first back in September, and then again last week when I brought it back in in case it was related to their previous repair. Car X did an inspection, was totally wrong about the diagnosis, and then after telling me to bring my jeep there, claimed they didn't do those repairs and had no history of ever even touching my brakes. So I took it across the street to Midas, and I'm so ever grateful I did as Midas fit me in right away, didn't let it go when they noticed this huge safety issue, worked with me on the pricing, and didn't play games with me. I will absolutely be bringing my jeep here going forward. It's scary how different my brakes feel now that they're actually working properly, and it's horrifying to think what could have happened had I not brought it to Midas. They have good, honest people working here!Service: Brakes

Disgusting store, the manager I dealt with Thursday at 2pm Thursday match 23rd was a terrible person, was nice at first, then turned evil when couldn’t fix my problem and I told him that they wasted my time for nothing. Je said some racist things to ne which I will talk to the BBB about and then stormed to the back and sterted screaming and swearing at me. This is inacceptable.

Great service here. Fast turnaround considering the fact that they are super busy and their lot is filled with cars. They do great work. The manager Carlo is a veteran mechanic and will be upfront with you regarding what is critical vs what you do later on. He’ll work with you. Highly recommend this place, especially if you want to save over going to the dealer!!

I took my car to this shop after being informed that work was needed after receiving an oil change from another shop. Midas confirmed I needed struts, bearing and arm replacement for total of $1800.The next day I had severe issues with the brakes. I had a complete front brake job 4 months prior so I knew that the problem occurred at their shop. The manager felt I should go back to where I had the brake job completed but the other shop voided the warranty since they worked on the car and there were no previous issues prior to taking the car to Midas. The shop manager said he would try to help me but wouldn't accept responsibility that it was there fault. I brought my car back NINE (9) time to fix the problem and when I got it back I had other issues with whistling and clanging noises. They claimed they replaced the pads and rotor but after not being able to fix the problem, they told me I had bad calipers and that I would need to pay $470 to fix it. This shop is incompetent of diagnostic, repairs and customer loyalty. 0*.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Don’t even think about going there. These people are purposely creating issues to your car so you can be back. They just did it to a friend of mine, single Mom leaving paycheck to paycheck. She went for oil change and they pulled out a Vacuum hose from the intake. She immediately noticed the car shaking and after 1 mile driving the Check engine light went off.Well she asked me check her car and this is what I found. This is just nasty. They will be hearing from her Attorney soon.
