I had been in this store far too many times. The store was average for a big box hardware store. The customer service was the same. Well I went in a few weeks ago and walked up and down the aisles for over ten minutes seeking assistance and with no success. I did let them know at CS as I was leaving to go to Menards across the street. Well this past weekend I went back in to get more items and had such a hard time getting help AGAIN. I finally asked for a manager and I met Venus. Well this woman changed my whole outlook on personal customer care! After I explained what I needed and my previous experience she rolled up her sleeves and jumped right in to help me. She even helped me cut material for me!!!! It was Venus, Sam and Miguel who had me appreciating the customer service at this Fox Lake home depot! They over staff during the day to assist the contractors who come in, which are professionals and don't need the kind of assistance as the DIY people that come in after working hours and weekends. Home Depot maybe you can fix that. Please note the 5 star is for the amazing customer service I received from these three individuals !! I am yelling a thousand thank you' s to Venus, Sam and Miguel!!!

We got our floors done by Home Depot last year, I believe in February. The team they sent did a great job on the LVP, but they cut the carpet on our stairs terribly when putting the transition lip over the LVP to carpet. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but now having a baby, this has become a big safety hazard as he wants to pull the carpet and stick his fingers in this area. Unfortunately, looks like we'll be having to replace our carpet now and hope the team who puts it in can do a better job with the transition. :/

Clean store and lots of things to choose from but if you want to get help you have to probably walk through the whole place to find somebody. It's usually empty but there's just nobody ever available to help. At least that's been my experience.

In June of 2019, I chose to have this Home Depot install new flooring in my entire house. Initially the measurement showed that our old floor needed to be taken up so the new floor could be installed. The old floor was hand scraped wood, so it was wavy to begin with, and clearly hadn't been installed correctly as there were large gaps and loose boards all over. At the day of the installation, our installers noted that because of a difference in thickness between the old floor and the new floor, there would be gaps in our baseboards and door jambs if we didn't raise the level of the floor with new underlayment. The Home Depot manager of this store refused to acknowledge the mistake and was rude and disrespectful to me, and threatened to cancel the entire job instead of offering to do something to make up for the mistake. Unfortunately for me, I didn't let the job get canceled. However, the manager and the installation company, Superior, decided to skim coat the old wood floor that was supposed to be taken up. I was promised by the manager of this Home Depot that the skim coat would solve all of the issues with the existing floor, and that then they could install the new floor right on top. After installation was complete, I immediately noticed that there were odd noises, squeaks, deflections, and popping sounds coming from the new floor. I know they are not normal because the second floor of my home has the same floor installed, but it was installed on the floorboards.

Beware people at the store would rather put stock away than help people who are in to try to find things waited 40 minutes put all my stuff down and went across the street to Menards

This review is for the home Depot in volo Illinois off of route 12. Worst experience ever. I purchased a washer and dryer for $2,000 and was told it would be delivered on Saturday the 6th. I'm in desperate need of the washer and dryer which is the reason that I decided to go with them. They called me the day before and the message was distorted and all I heard was 1pm. I had my alarm set for 11:00 a.m. as I work nights and took the day off specifically to be home for the delivery. Woke up to use the bathroom at around 9:58 a.m. and found out that they had tried to call me at 5 minutes to 8:00 To let me know they were outside in the driveway and they refused to come back and deliver it today. Now I have to wait an additional 10 days. seriously thinking about canceling and going with Best buy who could be here 5 days earlier but would lose money. Do not order from home Depot for appliances unless you're going to pick it up yourself. spoke with five people and there's nothing they can do and it's a horrible experience and I do not wish it for anyone. I will never order appliances from home Depot ever again for this very reason.

Store in Volo, IL is horrible. Was there yesterday and had a cart with about $1000 worth of lumber, tools, etc. not a single register open. Tried to check out in the contractors area and no one was there. Asked they they told me to take it down to self checkout. Pushed the heavy cart all the way down there to find 3 employees standing around doing nothing. Started checking out, not one of them asked if they could help or anything. Rang a few items and then decided, they clearly do not have any customer service so they do not deserve my business. Stopped checking out, left the cart with $1000 worth of stuff. I took my business elsewhere. I do not recommend the Volo, IL store.

It's the big boy in home repair and improvement. You should be able to find just about anything you need, and then some. If it's attention to detail that you need, select a good contractor - Home Depot is not the place for that. As Ford basically started the mass production of automobiles, so has Home Depot set the standard for big box home improvement.

When a customer literally sits in the patio furniture area for 10-15 minutes and not a single employee notices them, it's time for an improvement. Also, how about opening some registers and not force customers to use the self-checkout. Lastly, when a call is made with a complaint, it might help to get the customer's name and number and not just say 'I'm sorry, I'll talk to them.' then say "thank you" and hang up.

Fantastic customer service. We prefer Home Depot, especially this specific location, because they are always ready to help and give a smile. They also allow dogs and I walk around their building frequently working on public manners and leash manners with various dogs I train. We also remodel our house and we prefer most of Home Depots products and prices over their competitors.

I went to this Home Depot today and had a great experience. I went to buy a new BBQ grill that was on sale. Mike helped me showing the features of the grill, showed me an electric Rotisserie that would work with it and good cover for it. Then he helped me get 60 watt garage door opener build that were on clearance. Then he took me over to the service counter and stayed with me to make sure my new grill would be assembled by their best assembler and to arrange a delivery day and time that was convenient to my schedule. Kudos to Gwen on the phone that told me how I could arrange both the assembly and delivery. This store has always given me great customer service. Also the Mundelien store gives great service too. Being the Internet Sales Manager at a Ford/Lincoln dealer I know and appreciate good service when I experience it.
