Helix Camera is the sort of quality, family-owned camera shop that photographers hope to find, but wonder if still exists. I’ve been a customer for many years. Helix is a warm and welcoming place staffed by avid photographers. It’s great to feel at home surrounded by lots of name brand gear that you can actually hold in your hands instead of only glimpsing in cyberspace. Helix also expertly services and repairs cameras and lenses. Customers are treated as valued clients whose needs really matter and who deserve the unhurried, expert attention, fair prices, and thoughtful advice Helix provides. Both Marie and Eric went the “extra mile” for me recently as they have before. That was very appreciated. I’m always happy to walk through their door, and look forward to returning. Helix is a “find” and really delivers. Very highly recommended. Easily 5+ stars.

Thank goodness Helix is still here. A much smaller version of what it use to be, but still good quality service, and Great camera equipment. Yes, they even have a rental department. Valerie was as helpful as they come. She listened to my not making sense of what I was looking for, and came up with a great solution, and she even put it all together to see if everything fit, and worked like it should. It did, and it was under a hundred bucks. Unheard of in the camera world. I have a great tripod setup thanks to Helix Photo. Next will be the camera Backpack???

After speaking on the phone with Marie and verifying they had the item I wanted I went there she spent over an hour assuring me what I was buying was what I actually needed for my situation she was very knowledgeable courteous and helpful I would not hesitate to use this company in the future local very clean shop nice to see in this day and age top ratings for the employee

Traded in some gear for a new lens and they were fair with the trade ins so I’ll definitely be returning. I use to go often when they were in Chicago and they were nice back then as well.

Ordered a set of Profoto Gels online and never shipped. Despite multiple phone calls on different days, voicemails, and emails, no one ever got back to me about my order and had to cancel it through my credit card company.

I ordered a flash on the website almost a month ago & haven’t received it. I tried emailing, but the email wouldn’t go through. I left a message & didn’t receive a response. I finally called again & spoke to someone that didn’t know the status & said she would have to contact the manufacturer & get back to me. I received an email later that day saying that they would have to refund me because the flash isn’t available. I’m wondering how long they would have waited to tell me this. There was no way to track the order without calling or emailing. Not to mention the customer service woman I spoke to was not at all friendly nor was the email I received. No apology for my inconvenience or anything!

Terrible customer service. It took weeks and serval emails to get a status update on my order. It was backordered, however there was no indication of that when I placed order. I will not order here again, and I recommend you avoid as well.
