I have always been the type person to purchase the cheapest of products and services. Insurance was no different. When my cheap insurance company filed for bankruptcy, I had a change of heart. I decided a more financially stable company would be a wise move, but expected to pay more. I have to say I was shocked at the level of insurance I was able to procure for my home and vehicles at the same price I was paying at the “cheaper” company. And I can have peace knowing this company is as stable as they come. My first experience with Bill and his staff was top notch. I felt like a neighbor, truly. Mary Travelstead was the representative that I dealt with through the initial agreements. She is an absolute professional with tons of knowledge in the insurance business. This staff always has a smile while interacting with customers. You can’t go wrong with Bill Ecker and this great branch at State Farm.

Bill has been a friend as well as Agent to my family for many years. He has taken the time to help my father (as he isn't well at this time) in ways no other agent would sit with him and do. My father's trust in Bill is like none I've seen from him before. I could go on with much more but will stop here and say Bill has been a guiding hand for my dad in more ways than insurance. A true friend! And that same friend to all of my family.

Mary was wonderful to work with. Any questions that I had getting set up, she answered. She helped us to save money monthly. The transition from insurance companies can be very difficult. In the past when comparing insurance companies I stayed with my previous company to avoid the hassle of switching. Mary made this transition very easy, literally no work from me at all. I highly recommend Mary Travelstead & Bill Ecker with State Farm in Marion, IL.
Edited to add- We recently had to file a claim due to a tornado that hit our property. Bill called to check in with us the day after the tornado which happened to be a holiday they were closed. During the entire claim process Bill and Mary have kept in contact with us making sure everything is being taken care of by the claims department and answer any questions that we have. The process has been a breeze because of their assistance.

Bill at State Farm has been my insurance provider for years. I bundled my home, auto, motorcycle, and more with Bill. Aside from excellent service from him and his staff, the pricing is really great. I once called several other insurance companies, even some online ones, and none could come close to offering the coverage I have at the price I pay.

I've been using state farm for 22 years and switch agents as I moved around the country, but by far Bill Ecker has been the best to work with. So if you're looking for a good agent I suggest him.

He tried to twist it and keep my money when i cancelled. He said it was suspended. It’s been weeks trying to get it changed. He was charging me 202 a month. Went to another place and it’s same full coverage for 94 dollars. Took 202 out of my account the day before I cancelled. Only sent me 60 bucks back. I posted on fb. Seems he’s not very popular and has ripped off several. Wish I would have shopped around.

First time we have ever had to use home owners insurance. Basement flooded during all this rain; I called Bill to figure out exactly my policy, because I was told 2 different answers by the claim department. He didn’t want to talk to me. He wanted to tell me because I had been in contact with claims, then why was I calling him. He can respond and say otherwise, but this is exactly what happened. I read the other negative reviews, and I see nothing is ever his fault, especially customer service. After this is over with, I’ll no longer have State Farm. It has been a nightmare to say the least. Before this getting a value for my classic car was like pulling teeth. I have had State Farm for every vehicle, house, and boat I ever owned. I’m 31 and paid for my insurance since 16. Sad when you try to use your safety net you’re treated so awful.Edit: changing from 2 star to 1. Called him 2 times during the entire claim process, today being the second. He said because of my negative review (he was wrong about what the review even said) that he contacted his attorney. I asked for his attorney information so that mine could get in contact with him, and he wouldn’t give it to me. Said that I would be getting the info from said attorney. Again, like before, he wouldn’t answer any questions I had about my policy and what I needed from the place that I’ve paid thousands of dollars to over the years. Getting zero help from this company and especially this rep. Would avoid at all costs. Had to make a claim with illinois department of insurance. Would read the claim with them before sending this agent your business.P.S. he handled everything like a child.

When I turned 18 earlier this year, I got my first car and Sarah at Bill's office helped me quote the different cars I was shopping for and wrote my policy. Then, she got me signed up for the Drive Safe and Save app and now I'm earning a discount for my driving. She also made sure I was getting my Steer Clear and Good Student discounts. I feel well protected as I go off to college and the State Farm app makes it easy to take care of my insurance in one spot. Thank you to everyone at Bill Ecker's office for taking such good care of me and explaining all these new concepts to me! Customer for life!

This guy loves to come into other people’s businesses and tell them how to run things.Also, StateFarm is notorious for looking for ways to deny people’s claims in their times of need. I highly advise against getting homeowner’s insurance through this company. Google it and you can see for yourself how terrible this company truly is.

Highly recommend!!I had the same agency for several years, and prices began jumping incrementally since early 2020. My driving record has always been clean, so there was no reason for the increase.I spoke with Mary through State Farm, provided her my information, and her full coverage quote was half of my comprehensive with my former agency.Mary was absolutely wonderful. She was knowledgeable, attentive to my coverage needs, expedient in covering multiple options - overall fantastic service. I have been with State Farm agent Bill Ecker, for over 13 years. His office has taken care of my auto, homeowners, life, and business insurance all this time. Recently, we were car shopping for my son and Sara was so helpful, quoting car after car, to help us make the right decision on which car to go with. Years ago, Mary talked to me about disability insurance,--something that I had not thought about, but am glad that I have. I have referred several friends and family members to her for life and disability insurance. And I love how they are all so friendly and attentive to my needs. That is a rare quality these days in business!
