Great staff, no noise place. Good restaurant, great bar, food and excellent breakfast. Worth staying here, even if it is little away from your work place. No self service kiosk, but there is vending machines.

Very pleasant stay at this long standing DoubleTree. I know many wish for a remodel, but I like it just the way it is. The entire hotel is enveloped in rich woods and timeless textiles which give the place a very warm, rustic vibe. Front desk staff are fantastic, very kind and attentive. Beds were comfortable, clean and I enjoyed the excellent C&E toiletries, considering I forgot to pack shampoo for this trip. Also, it was nice to see on site security, who I also found to be very polite and welcoming (a rarity with security)
All in all, I think this is the best place to stay in the Mundelein/Libertyville area without spending a fortune. Thanks for the excellent evening, DoubleTree staff!

Rustic and Lodgy vibes here! Staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout the property. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Loved the feather pillows I had in my room. Like many other reviews indicate, the hotel could use an upgrade in the rooms. Carpet and doors feel dated. As does the HVAC which is loud BUT I like white noise like that when sleeping so I actually liked it.
For what the room cost was for our stay it was a great deal I would totally stay here again.

Everything was pretty good here. Had a few stalker issues, which resulted in immense frustration. Breakfast was okay. Most staff were friendly.

This was a great night stop before heading to Chicago. Great room, super comfy bed, decent food with a full bar, and very nice staff. Shoutout to Dan at the front desk, and Gaby the cool bartender, thank you! Dog friendly and lot of access to grass around the property for your pup business.

The room was clean, though a bit outdated. They really messed up when deciding where to place the shower, as you had to either reach to the far side to turn on the water and risk slipping, or suck it up and embrace the cold as the water warmed up.
My biggest complaint, and the reason I will never consider going back to this hotel, was the bed. We could feel the springs digging into our backs and woke up feeling very sore for most of the following days.
I will note, however, that when I brought this to the attention of the staff, they got right on it by having the housekeeping bring a couple mattress toppers. Unfortunately they were pretty booked and had no other rooms with a king bed available, and the concierge did mention that a change in rooms was unlikely to solve the problem, as all their beds are the same and hinted at them being very low quality.
Overall this was definitely a disappointment.

The hotel is dated. The AC blew foul-smelling air all night, very loudly. The staff were fairly friendly. We had breakfast at their restaurant, for the $15/person, the pancake house around the corner is a better option with something besides a warm continental breakfast that is usually included in many hotel stays.

when me and my fiance arrived to the building, the overnight guest relations associate was nowhere to be found, I was locked outside of the building, ringing the doorbell for an unacceptable amount of time, then once the door finally did open by somebody, he had a rude tone, was very snotty and he was very short, and I would like to add very lazy. For the amount of traffic the hotel had during my arrival, he continuously was calling the overnight security guard for assistance. It’s like I wait all day for assistance on amenities, just for them to wait until 10-11 o’clock when the security guard arrives and depending on the day, how busy it is. I would also like to add in my 20 years of vacationing and staying in hotels, I have never had a security guard Bring me things that guest relations should be bringing upstairs or room service, I was taken a back. The rooms are decently nice breakfast is good but if I could rate this location, a negative for service in regards to the agent on site I would. I believe his name was Jeffrey or Jeff. i was here a week, never ever ever again. you guys need to do something with him.

This is a grand lady showing her age. I remember the building from the 1960s. I return to it every time I come into town. The rates are great as is the service and the staff is friendly. Pets are allowed.

We stayed in this Double Tree hotel for the first time. Having never stayed in a Double Tree hotel before, we were very excited to find that this location was phenomenal. The location was perfect: there were restaurants, gas stations, and convenience stores within walking distance. The hotel itself is in a well maintained area. The parking lot was well lit, the grounds were landscaped well, and the front entrance was beautiful. Inside the hotel, the front desk is to the left and the staff greeted us warmly with fresh cookies! (They even had gluten free chocolate chip cookies!)
Upon receiving our key cards, we took the elevator up to the third floor and we were pleased to find that the hallways were clean and the room was immaculate. We had a view of a busy street but we were never bothered by the noise. The shower and sink were huge and it was nice to have a lot of room in the bathroom.
After getting a great night's sleep, we ventured to the onsite restaurant to check out the breakfast area (breakfast is not included in your stay at Double Tree Hotels.) We were disappointed to find that the selection was sparse for $15 a plate and with having many dietary restrictions we could not eat there, so we decided to go to a local diner instead.
All in all, this hotel is in a great location, it is well maintained and the service was wonderful. Even though we could not eat any of the breakfast foods offered at the restaurant, we still found ourselves saying that we should stay at a Double Tree location again. Thank you for your hospitality!

We have stayed here on several visits to the area and have never been disappointed with our room, service, or location. It is extremely convenient, close to family, and dining. It seems that Dan is always working the desk when we check in. He is very personable, professional, and always represents the hotel's high standards. Those standards are the primary reason we select this hotel for each of our visits and why we will continue to choose this hotel.

Checked in this hotel few times few years ago! Always clean and had a pleasant stay. This time my experience was terrible. I don’t think I will be booking this hotel again. There was hair all over bathroom floor, in shower tub, and on towels. Sink drainer was broken. This place gone downhill.

No bathroom exhaust fan is the only thing I would change. Excellent service, and great location with plenty of retail and food choices.
