I had the best experience with Joanne Lewandowski at Posh Curls! She’s incredibly professional, experienced, and truly understands curly hair. After trying so many salons that never quite got it right, I finally found someone who could work with my curls instead of against them. My hair used to feel bulky, puffy, and unmanageable — I was honestly so unsatisfied for years. But Joanne completely transformed that. For the first time, I’m actually embracing and loving my natural curls. It was a truly eye-opening experience, and I’m beyond grateful. Highly recommend Posh Curls for anyone with curly hair — it’s a game-changer!

It took me 50 years to realize that I have curly hair so I was clueless about caring for curls. Once I mustered the courage to make an appointment in August 2022, I was not disappointed. Annette set me straight, giving me the exact recipe to follow. I was able to toss almost all my product stash because they were not right for me. It is expensive, however curly hair does not need to be cut often.

Kicking myself for not getting to Posh Curls sooner! Had an in depth consultation with Joanne before the cut and then she walked me through each step of product application, styling and drying. I couldn’t believe how curly my hair was! Really enjoyed working with Joanne; she answered all my questions thoroughly and I love how the cut turned out. I don’t need trims as often as I had been getting them so I won’t need to return for a while but looking forward to when that day comes!

Joanne blew me away with her skill and knowledge of curly/wavy hair. I got a curly cut and style and OMG my hair has never looked better. I keep looking in the mirror thinking the volume will deflate and curls will straighten but it is staying strong, curls and all. This is by far the best hair experience I've EVER had!!! Thank you so much for moving to Barrington. You are welcome with open arms!!!!! Joanne, I can't wait to go on this hair journey with you. Till my next appointment : )

I have been going to posh curls since 2018! For most of my life I chemically straightened my hair. It got to a point where it was extremely fragile and limp. I came in and Annette put me onto Deva Curl products. Over the past 5-6 years it has been a JOURNEY but I am so thankful to Annette and Joanne for helping me get my hair to its full health and potential! I have really tight curls now (3c-4a) and I CONSTANTLY get compliments about my hair. Overall I would say- be sure to communicate what you need/want and trust the process. These Ladies do amazing work, but it also includes YOU putting in the Blood, sweat and tears to find what works for your lifestyle!

I'm so sad to give this review, because everyone was so nice to me, but I think it's fair for future customers to know this may not be the right place for your curls.I have type 3A/B dry curls and I have been wearing my hair naturally curly for 6 years. I didn't have many hair complaints other than needing a trim and some shape.I mostly use Deva Curl, which is the product that this salon promotes, and I had been using a different product just the last week because I ran out of Deva.I went in for a first haircut appointment with Annette. She did a dry cut and washed and conditioned my hair. She then put me in the dryer for 20 min. My first sign is that I had wet frizz before going into the dryer and she should have known that you need to fix wet frizz or it'll look terrible after. In hindsight I should have said something, but I trusted that she's an expert. Of course my hair didn't dry in 20 min, which surprised her. I assumed that all curly hair takes forever to dry and was surprised she expected my appointment to only last an hour and had another customer waiting. She then used the diffuser which also didn't dry it completely before she admitted that I looked better when I arrived than after her styling. She refreshed my hair with a spray bottle and put me back in the dryer. I still looked terrible. She then let me go and only chaged me for the cut ($120) and not the styling (full price would have been $200).She kept blaming my dryness and frizz on the product I had been using for a the last week that it had "dried my hair", but the reality is that it was styled wrong. I'm not sure what the other client's texture is but I was surprised that a curly hair salon wouldn't know that if it looks messy wet it'll look terrible when it's dry. Every curly hair person I know knows that how it looks wet is how it'll look dry, just with more volume. She also used deep conditioner as the styling product which left a thick sticky texture that I can't wait to wash off.Once the hair finally dried at home it looked terrible and I just put it up in a bun. I'm waiting to wash it and style it like I do to see if the cut is even good but so far I don't like it.It is SO hard to find a good curly salon so if you find one keep it. Unfortunately I lost track of my favorite curly hair stylist and I don't know which salon she's at now.Again, everyone was so nice, but they didn't know how to style my hair.Services: Shampoo & conditioning

I drove into Posh Curls to get a curly cut and education on how to treat my curls. Annette was awesome explaining each step and why she was doing the cut, what the goals were and how to apply each product. She also explained my face shape and what would be a good cut for my shape. The whole staff was welcoming and friendly. I would not hesitate to book an appointment here!

Annette is the best!! I've been going to her for years. I kind of just let her do her thing with my hair and it always turns out so beautiful. I've had so many bad curly hair cuts since childhood. You can't go wrong with this salon, with Annette's skill and artistry!

Annette is my curly hair guru! She is a gem for the curly hair community. She is very compassionate and a great listener. She will work with you always and goes out of her way to make you happy. Even when something is a miss she will acknowledge that it doesn’t work and work her magic to fix it! First time ever in my life my hair got so long and healthy. Ive been straightening my hair for 20 years and hated my curls. After Covid and a toddler, I just wanted to make my routine easier and get my hair healthy. After researching salons that do curly cuts and lurking on their SM, I decided to try Posh. This was my first visit and it won’t be my last! I’ve never had a haircut designed for curls and now I wish I had done this years sooner! Such a great experience! Annette was great! She’s super professional and knowledgeable. I walked in not feeling great about my hair and walked out absolutely loving it! Not only did she do an amazing job cutting my hair but she also made sure to educate me on how to care for it as well. Super happy with my cut and highly recommend. Annette and her team are the best!
