First time owning my own cat and taking him to the vet for shots, worming, and nueter. All the staff was so friendly and helpful and they went out of their way to make sure he had all the meds he needed, and calling to check on him a few days after and scheduling re checks to make sure everything was healing right. Dr Hoag is wonderful

Do not go here! Dr. Christine Heaver killed my dog with a misdiagnosis, wrong medications, unneeded surgeries and hospitalizations that caused horrific pain and suffering, and charged me over $5000 and another $200 to cremate her! This place has a "CareClub" that is a scam, they give unnecessary vaccinations and throw meds at your dog that worsen the problem. She is an incompetent vet and should lose her license. VCA is owned by MARS and their doctors are there to sell you their products and rake in cash from unnecessary tests and procedures. Truly an evil place.

This place used to be the best vet in town until they went VCA. This is hands down the worst place and I will never bring my pets here again. I warned my mother not to, but she did anyway and regretted it. The staff are incredibly rude and judgmental, first off. I've worked for animal shelters, but they still treat me like I'm an idiot and neglectful. The last time I went there they almost killed my elderly cat by giving her a treatment that I did not approve and that caused her to have a nasty reaction, then they charged me almost 1k to keep her overnight while they fixed their mistake. My mother just had her cat there and they refused to give him back until she paid her bill, even though she just left her wallet 2 blocks away. Which is understandable to a degree, but they treated him like a prisoner while he was there. They knew he had separation anxiety and refused to let him go with her anyway. Her cat got so stressed out by the way they treated him that he pooped all over himself, which is not even remotely a symptom of what he came in there with. They put him in a muzzle because he was stressed, which only stressed him out more. They kept insisting that he was dangerous just because he had a low growl in his chest, like they've never seen a scared cat before. He was not being actually hostile in any way, he even let the vet stick his hands in his mouth to check his teeth and didn't bite or even struggle, so the muzzle was completely unnecessary. He doesn't even have claws (we got him like that, we do not declaw our cats), so not sure what they thought he was going to do. He didn't do anything hostile the whole time except let out that low growl, which is completely normal for a cat in a stressful situation. Dr. C knows better. He was the best vet in town (especially for cats because he's a cat lover) before, but whatever changed over there made him completely untrustworthy, too. They will do everything they can to leech as much money from you as possible, and there's a 50/50 chance they make your pet worse in the process while making you feel like a bad pet owner. I will never go back there again. Check out Animal Hospital of Woodstock instead. The people there actually like animals and people, and won't torture your pet and then blame it on you.

I took my Dog and Cat here when I first moved to Illinois and was very pleased with our experience. I was very happy with the doctor who got on the ground to make my dog feel comfortable.

Some hiccups while transitioning and training staff in late summer, but apologies and promised improvements were definitely made. Now fall, and I'm grateful for the care and service provided to my two beloved dogs. Thank you for standing by your word and goals for excellence!

Idk folks, the upselling is becoming an issue. I just got charged over $700 for one visit for my cat, and some medication the vet insisted I needed for all of my cats, which, upon looking online, it doesn't appear that I do need. I really can't afford this, and while I appreciate them getting my cat in, who wasn't feeling well, I absolutely cannot afford $700+ per visit, plus the upselling of care plans and supplements. It's a lot, and I have a lot of medical bills myself as someone with dynamic disabilities. I love Dr. Carmichael and Dr. Ulrich, but I don't know what has happened here. I am in absolute shock about the amount of money I paid today, and I felt like while certain portions of the price were mentioned, the entire thing was not. I had a family member call to make payment with our family credit card, and upon hearing how much it was, I don't know how I can pay that back. I guess the vet clinic doesn't accept returns either, so I'm stuck with it--a single, disabled person, with a $700+ bill from ONE vet visit. I'm thinking of looking elsewhere--maybe someplace that hasn't been taken over by VCA. I am literally crying right now. This is just more than I can possibly afford. I set money aside for the care of my animals, but never would I expect a non-surgical visit for a wellness check for ONE CAT, a vaccine update, and some medication to be $700. That's insane. I don't know who can afford stuff like that, but it sure as hell isn't me.

VAC pet clinic in Woodstock had an opening on Friday, the same day Pets in Motion canceled. VAC very caring and listened to the issues our Shiba Inu was suffering from. She found a dead field mouse in our yard, that most likely had mites all over it. Sasha, our Shiba Inu was constantly scratching her snout and ears until they bled. The doctors prescribed the correct ear medication and antibiotics for Sasha. After 4 days in treatment Sasha is herself again. That Saturday morning, staff @ VCA called to check on Sasha nad how she was doing. Definitely recommend this facility and staff for my pets needs.

They killed my perfectly fine cat on September 14th, 2021. I would absolutely give them 0 stars if I could. Went in for my senior cat who was having some diarrhea, did a simple check up and for her age of 14 she was looking great they said and simply sent us home with some medicine for her to take for 10 days. After the second day on this medication, her stools were black. Called them back and they said just stick it out until her meds were all done. She was still acting like her normal self a few days after, but 3 days before her final day of medicine, her entire mood shifted, didnt eat, didnt drink, wasnt moving much, stopped meowing and greeting everyone like normal. Called them again, they said come in tomorrow morning. Morning rolls around, shes not moving, barely breathing and we rush to take her in. Turns out her blood sugar was at 30, all her organs were failing rapidly and she died having a seizure in my arms as they were getting the shot to put her down! And on top of everything they charged us for, the first and now second visit, they charged us an insane amount for that shot which wasnt even needed, her paw print, ashes and we requested to get a tuff of her fur for remembrance. Ashes and paw print come in but no fur, im crushed, we call them again asking what may have happened and all the lady said was 'oh, i see it was in her file to do it, im sorry.' As if it was nothing. Please. Do not go here. R.I.P
