Super cute grocery store a mile away from my lake house! As soon as you walk in you get the small town feeling from it. You hear a lot of cashiers greet customers by name which warms your heart! The deli clerks are fast and friendly while at the same time fast and efficient! They carry Boars Head which is the main reason I went in! The produce department is a little on the small side but they carry the essentials. So many prepackaged fruit bowls!
During our visit we noticed that they had a gingerbread house contest! My 6 year old had a blast voting for his favorite house!

While getting some pastrami in deli then man waiting on me kept figiting with his face mask. then proceeded to slice the meat touching it several times with his gloved hands that he was touching his mask with. He didn't like when I called him out on it. Had him reslice my pastrami. With new gloves on he did it again.. Don't touch/adjust your mask then touch the meat. He is dumber than a box of rocks. I bought a cake from Al’s bakery this past Saturday and I was extremely happy with her hand decorating of the cake and how delicious it was! So fresh and the frosting was perfect! The staff on the phone from when I placed the order were extremely friendly and they even blew up balloons for me in the floral area that I bought online for a fee when other places said they wouldn’t do that for me. This is definitely going to be the only place I purchase my cakes from now on!!

Al’s on Karwick is a local staple for the beach communities and a great grocery store to have in the area. Locally owned, it can be a little pricier than other big box options, but on the flip side Al’s carries a lot more local offerings from small businesses and diet specific choices. If you are looking for something unique, there’s a much higher chance of finding it here over the chain grocery stores. They do have great sales as well. Their staff is always friendly and they still offer to help you out to your car if you need it. I don’t mind paying a bit more for that level of service.

Being near Long Beach and all of the summer homes, this is quite the upscale market. It's like a small Target with about anything you might need or want. Very convenient to the Northeast of Michigan City on the way to New Buffalo. Prices are very good, too, and we found one if our favorite Rose wines for under $8! Bakery is outstanding, and all of their meats and fish are as fresh as can be.

In town for a few days and appreciate the nice selection of local items like Indiana and Michigan-made honey, chocolate, ice cream and berry pies, yet I can still score a Chicago Tribune. The ladies in the meat department were helpful with my take-away chicken dinner question. Checker Jude was pleasant and helpful. We were able to find everything we need at this well-stocked, tidy and brightly-lit store. They sell beer and wine too, which is nice. You can now buy alcohol in Indiana on a Sunday, although during certain limited hours.

This is a very well cared for grocery store with many choices some unusual items the staff is extremely kind and friendly and the store is very clean parking is accessible hohoho and they have a nice flower section for you men who forgot to say you're sorry to your wife or girlfriend and you make up to her with some roses haha

I don't understand the negative reviews. There is no other place to get really good fried chicken and inexpensive as well. The rotisserie chicken is also very good. The people at the deli are awesome!! They are always friendly and helpful. Cheese and deli selection is very good. I really like the price list so you can get the most for your money.

Home town courtesy and service with a wide array of food and specialty items. Good value for the prices. People greet you at the door. Parking lot accessible and friendly to the handicapped
