Yesterday me and my best friend went to the Aeropostale in Jordan creek wes des moines iowa on july 21st 2025 around 11:30 ish pm. we walked around and i decided to try on a light green square neck top and black sweatpants. I saw that one of the changing rooms was open so i went towards it and i was almost in it before an older scruffy woman with stringy gray hair yelled at me saying something along the lines of “No, You cannot go in there an employee needs to let you in” And i apologized and said i didn’t know, so then the scruffy woman asked me how many i had and i said i had two items, i was very clearly holding the two items listed above. then she opened the already opened door for me and told me to go in, when she looked at me and when she asked i could tell she seems slightly suspicious/skeptical of me but i didn’t understand why, then i went in and tried on my two items, then i changed out of said two items and went out where i was greeted by my best friend standing right at the door to my left and the other worker there who was an overweight woman with very sparse eyebrows and hair with a large wart on her face by her brows asked me if i was done and said ill take your items, i thought she meant the stuff i didn't want because she had a moving rack next to her, so i started to give her the pants which i didn't want, then, she said no I want everything, so i gave her everything then she said this; because you stuffed something down your pants and i got immediately very defensive and angry because she was publicly embarrassing me and accusing me of a crime i did not commit. I showed her my pockets which only held my phone, my wallet and my car-keys. I told her i didn't have anything and that i wasn't stealing, my best friend chimed in with similar stuff and she also said that she felt like they were racially profiling her. The overweight worker asked us to leave and told us that we weren’t allowed to come back and while we walked out and past the detector things it didn’t beep because we did not steal anything. We left the store and we feeling humiliated, scared, and embarrassed. i wanted to cry and i was seething with anger. We eventually parted ways and when i got home i obviously told my mother what happened. She got extremely upset and called the store and spoke to the manager and the manager claimed i had stuffed a third product in my pants and when i was changing it fell out of my pants and a worker and another customer saw this and reported me. She said nothing of my friend. their stories do not line up at all. This is so unbelievably unacceptable. I’ve been to this location before with my white friends while the scruffy woman was working and i have never had issues. Its so disgusting that Aeropostale chooses to hire filthy degenerates as employees. this is extremely unacceptable and those two pathetic women deserve to be fired and another thing about the store it was very dirty. the fitting room floors were caked with dust and even the store is extremely dusty in some area. things need to change ASAP.

Me and my friend walked into Aeropostale and I immediately saw 2 employees staring at me and my friend as we looked around. My friend went to go into a fitting room when a lady basically chased her down and yelled that “we let people in” and the employee asked how many items my friend had and gave my friend a look. I was waiting for my friend to come out to the fitting room while looking around the clearance section when an employee began to hover around me. I greeted her and she responded with “what did you put down your pants”. I was in the clothing section of the store and there was nothing small enough for me to put down my tight jeans. I had no other pockets besides my jean pockets and my bag was unzipped, so I knew this was a bunch bs. I could tell she was trying to intimidate me because I’m 4’10 significant shorter than her and she was a lot closer than she needed to be. I emptied my pockets for her and she still claimed my pants had a “bulge” which was obviously my behind. I told her she could pat me down if she wanted and she proceeded to just stare at me and not do a thing. So I turned to look at the clothing on the rack behind me and tried to ignore her. the lady continued to hover, although I proved to her I hadn’t taken anything. I went and stood by my friends dressing room because she was making me uncomfortable and I just wanted to leave. A bigger employee who seemed to be 5’11-6’0 almost shoved into while I was waiting by the dressing room, I believe it was very intentional considering, there was space on either side of me to walk by and not graze or touch me. the same bigger employee began to hover around me obviously trying to be intimidating and she watched me on my phone for 5 or so minutes, although I was nowhere near any items. Immediately after my friend got out of the dressing room the bigger employee took her items and accused us both of theft because she “saw you put down something down your pants and I know you put down something down your pants” and told us to “never come back”. Both of the employes were mid-late 40’s one with black hair, and the other with a wart on her eyebrow and blond hair. I know that neither of the women saw me or my friend put anything down our pants, because nothing but our phones and wallets were in our pants, and we were both wearing jeans. I understand loss prevention, but the fact neither employee took the opportunity to call mall security to prove we took anything or request the items we “stole”back make this experience feel extremely racially motivated. In the case that it wasn’t racially motivated, you do not talk to anyone’s child the way those women spoke to me and my friend who are obviously minors. My friend’s mom called when we got home and they claimed that an employee as well as a customer saw the item that was stolen fall out of my friends pants. again I was standing by her dressing room for while so I should’ve saw the item fall as well. It’s safe to say that the Jordan creek areopostal is racist and even if they didn’t tell me to come back I wouldn’t. I will never spend anymore money with areopostal as a business if these are the people they choose to employ. The behavior shown was was wrong and and reflects on the business as a whole.

Bought some clothes for my daughter and customer service was horrible only 1 register open and the other 2-3 person were just talking to each other pretending to put stuff away I finally got them to help with check out and come to my surprise when I got home this lazy girls forgot to take the tags out of my items I was so mad ? so I returned them to another Aeropostale store closes to my area since they don't have the same pin removers

Quality is horrendous. I wore a top I purchased in store for ONE day and the strap completely snapped and fell apart. I attempted to exchange it but it wasn’t in stock in store or online yet they wouldn’t refund me. I had to pick a completely different item of same or less value.

Me and My Daughter Went in here since I hadn’t been in so long so we look at stuff in the front then went to the Clearance Section seen they had extra 60 percent off so we look through the sweatsuits to find sets with matching sizes while we was back there the 2 associates came to the back then was eyeing my purse I still went ahead and bought something …..Anyway So since the Big Tall girl associate # 955952 was thinking someone stealing I opened my bag at the register and tilted it so she can look in with her looking azz to take my phone out to pay with Apple Pay…… Now How Dumb Are You? Can’t even enjoy my time off for my birthday week from my very good paying job because of people like that. Such an Idiot!!! I’m returning these item’s tomorrow too!!! I don’t even want em & I hope she see this too.

I've had jeans from here for a couple of weeks now. Worn them about 3 or 4 times. They're ripped mom jeans. They're terrible quality. I've careful with my pants. I pull them up when I crouch. And the strands are snapped and I get to walk around looking stupid. I doubt I can get any refund or exchange.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE experience EVER!!! My daughter ordered a shirt online, well she got a completely different piece. She did online return and the representative told her she could return to store. She went in to the store a hispanic lady and man helped her, said you cant return here, you have to call the number and get a return label sent to you. She came home we contacted and they said NO you can return anything in store. Mind you we drove over 30 minutes to the mall again, I went in this time and talked to a tall heavier set white lady bleach blonde hair, who said she was the manager, she did the return just fine, no problems there, except a little attitude. Well I looked at receipt and they didn't give my daughter back all her money the shipping. Got back in line. Talked to the lady again, she said that shipping is non refundable, I said well per customer service you are to since you sent the wrong item. She said no, I again asked for manager, she said she was, I said fine I will call the customer service right here, and she said, "Ok, you do that" So I stood there calling and then I asked her for her name, and she said, "I am not giving you my name, and I dont have to, just tell them the assistance manager." I said oh, so your the assistant, so can I please speak with the store manager. She said No she is not here, I asked for her name, And she said, "No I will not give you that information" I was not happy, at this time, I am still on hold at this time and walked out of store, waited in front of store, and I noticed 2 other employees went over to her, both were hispanic (pretty sure one was the store manager) , as I am on hold a customer, yes a customer came out and said I over heard what happened and wanted to let you know that the 3 employees over at the counter were talking about terribly about you. I thank this lady and I told my daughter lets go, because I am going to flip out and waiting still on hold. I finally got a guy on the phone, and he said that this is not OK and they are suppose to give you the names, he said he was making a complaint for me. I wouldve done it, but I was driving and he did it for me. I informed him that my daughter nor myself will NEVER shop there because of that lady, He said I dont blame you and I wouldnt either. He did say he was sorry and he hoped that in time we come back to Aero.

Honestly had no idea this place was still open! Employees were very friendly & helpful. Inexpensive pricing for cheap teen options. Our kids do not care for the Aeropostale branded stuff like sweatshirts & tshirts so choices were just OK especially for small & medium sizes.
