Do not try going an hour before close, store closes early.

Store frequently closes early without notice. Today I arrived to find one of the workers literally staring out the entrance doors.. After parking and approaching the door, worker disappears and door is locked. This is 40 minutes before close - no signage posted.

Very small store with little selection in the produce and bakery. Higher prices than Kroger and Walmart. Cashier was anything but friendly. I'll find a different store next time, even if I have to drive a bit to get there.

When you call a business and ask for department,do they have the to say I don't have time to talked to you and hang up .And it took me 3times to actually talk to a person at Flatwoods Food Fair in the bakery department .And 1 star they don't even deserve that it's more like -1000 ,Not good customers service.

Penningtons is the only grocery store in our small town of Flatwoods Ky. So some residents go to the store multiple times a week or sometimes more than once in a day. I do wish they would be a little more considerate when hiring Cashiers because not only did I have a bad experience with an employee recently, my husband and my parents have all had a bad encounter with a new employee. On three separate occasions. She has blonde long hair and she's really a beautiful girl.... Until she has to do her job and then she shows an ugly, impatient side and if not for the Man over this store being Such an Awesome, trustworthy and reliable person, I may not have gone back. She looked at me and rolled her eyes at the elderly lady ahead of me for taking a little longer than most people, as if I was going to agree with that type of behavior. She did the same exact thing to me when I needed to put my phone number in to use my account points.

I will shop here only if I'm grabbing a thing or two. Their prices aren't that good and the selection leaves little to be desired. Being privately owned it has its ups and downs; their prices are higher than say Krogers but it's a lot more personal experience. Their produce is usually very nice and plentiful.
