Before I say, in the end, they did order it for me using my financial aid. But I learned my lesson to order books before the semester starts.
Anyway! Toward the end, the financial aid office told me to go to the bookstore. I go to the bookstore and the employee explains that they need to apply the scholarship to my account. I go downstairs (two levels by the way) and ask for the manager Jennifer. I go downstairs and say that I need to ask for Jennifer after having a conversation with the employee who was already going to get their manager. They go get their manager and she says according to the employee "Ugh, what now?" ..... Was she busy? I am giving her the benefit of the doubt. But when it is your job to do something, don't supposably, roll your eyes and give attitude to your employee. If you are not able to give your assistance, tell them you are busy (if you are truly 100% busy).
So, two stars for the trips I had to make back and forth to the bookstore to financial aid, up and down the bookstore. It was out of stock, but I will eventually get it. Thanks so much Jennifer <3

This is horribly operated and horribly managed. I expect newer workers to struggle however the level of incompetenacy at the management level is awful. To be overcharged by the University then to have the University not be able to deliver necessary tools on time (Books and web access) makes me consider legal action.
They should all be ashamed. Also, positive reivews on this are certainly paid for or botted. This place is a joke.

Yeah I dont know who is posting these reviews but they are lying. Prices are crazy here and they will gouge you. If you need an access code, buy it from the website they literally, not lying literally charge double.

Worst bookstore in the country!! Called ahead and the attendant straight up lied to my face about available books in stock for classes...none were available nor backordered. Then proceeded to say find your books yourself, when no one was in the store and she stood at the counter on her phone. Refused to answer any questions about books or backorders. Then I ordered online and my order was cancelled. What a scam! This bookstore brings shame to NKU and should find a new manager immediately.

Impossible to get textbooks. A third party is paying for my books and sent in the form. I have sent the form in multiple times as well. I have called numerous of times to get the form accepted. Everytime I call they tell me to email someone completely different from the last time I called. I have been trying to get my books for a whole week now. It is insane how difficult it is to just get books here and I am just trying to get digital textbooks.

I've had many bad incidents purchasing textbooks from this university but by far my worst instance was during Summer 2023. I ordered three textbooks in early May to prepare for my June class and my July class. Out of the three books, only one was available on time. I didn't get my last one until Week 5 out of 7 for my second class, so I literally used the book for like two weeks and still had to pay full price. I figured it should be half price if I could only own the book half the time I needed it for. To top it off, the ones I tried to return since I rented they said I couldn't get my money back because apparently they had to be returned ten days before the due date... Why is there a due date if apparently there's an imaginary deadline? Absolute dumpster fire. If you can get your books online, I strongly urge you to do so for your sanity.

Lots of great stuff but limited DAD merch for those of us paying the bills! Prices are a little high for general supplies. They'll also bait and switch you if you order used books. We ended up with new books which were way more expensive!
