Been calling this location for 30+ minutes now. They let it ring for 4 minutes and hang up on me. No one ever answers! I hate the post office, stealing my package on video. Reported them to the post master and nothing happened. Wonder what other mail of mine has been stolen, WE HAVE CAMERAS!

Mailman crams packages in mailbox and can't get them out from the front. Has happened several dozen times and called and nothing is done about it.

I wish they would have moved this location. The carriers are rude the employees are rude. They've lost two packages of mine. They act like weird gatekeepers. Caught them on my Ring door bell camera calling my house a POS

Saaed and the other front desk clerks at this location are always very nice, helpful, and doing their best make my visit a great experience. I usually only go inside when I need to buy stamps, send a certified letter, or have a package to mail, so I cannot speak to the other services. They're good about recommending the right shipping container, speed, etc., based on what I'm looking for at the time of service. Thank you!

What could this mean if we were home all day with the same access that we have everyday ? .........We could not access the delivery location to deliver your package at 7:14 pm on February 6, 2023 in NEWPORT, KY 41071. We will redeliver on the next delivery day. No action needed.

Will disconnect you from phones and place on busy if you call close to lunch and our replacement mail carrier won't walk up any steps. Been over a week without any mail delivery. Lazy.

Does it get the job done? Yeah. So if that's what you're looking for, I'd say any post office (including this one) will work. But I've never experienced someone so uninterested in helping a customer before. Maybe I've just been lucky but the other USPS locations I've visited in Bellevue and Covington (Latonia) have always been super kind and helpful when I am mailing a package. I usually get to the counter with my item and the clerk gives me an idea of the best way to package it, either handing me the right envelope/box or pointing out which one to pick from the selection available. Once I fill out the info and package it, the clerk has always reinforced it with packaging tape from behind the counter. It happens every time I go so I assumed that was standard! Well, at my visit to the Newport location, I got to the counter with my item (a book and card) and she just looked at me and said "yeah you'll have to package it, you can't mail it like that." Ok, I understand, I was wondering the best way to send it. She just pointed to the envelopes and told me to pick one. Alright, I guess I could have just started with that myself. After I packaged it, I noticed it was a tight fit and I was worried the stickiness wouldn't hold so I asked if she could reinforce it with tape and she literally handed me Scotch tape. In what world is that going to be sufficient to reinforce a package going through the mail. I asked if she could actually use packing tape and she just pointed back at the shelf and said I could buy some. What?? I was honestly a little shocked so I asked if maybe each USPS location was run as a franchise (you know, each one having different policies) - just trying to give the benefit of the doubt. But she just said she tries to follow the rules and it's definitely not allowed to use their own tape to reinforce customers' packages. I mean, I know in the grand scheme of things, this isn't a huge disaster of a visit, but if you're looking for cheerfulness and helpfulness, go elsewhere. P.S. no, it was not busy. I was the only customer in the office at the time.P.P.S. The older I get, the more I sound like my mother and it's depressing. I've never wanted to complain about anywhere or anyone. I'm a freaking millennial - it's just not our thing. We're all just out here trying to do the best we can, right? But geez people are making it hard to be optimistic in life. It's not hard to try a little, especially when a customer is being polite.

I generally have a good experience here and the staff they have now are much better than from years past (especially the alternative girl with dark hair, she is usually the one there when I go and she is super great and has gone the extra mile for me before when I have had an issue with a package). However I want to warn people that recently I dropped off pre-labeled packages that were stolen out of the drop box outside somehow. Four packages went missing last month, and it’s happened before at this location too. The tracking never gets scanned and they disappear. Always put pre-stamped packages on the desk inside. Not sure what they can even do about this but just be aware.

I’ve been coming to this post office for two years and each time the employees have been helpful and as quick as possible. They even go out of their way to save you money if you’ve picked up the more expensive and unnecessary packaging materials

I was in this location on 08/22/2022 around 12:30 p.m. The employee who helped me was very rude and condescending. I don't like to consider that he behaved this way because he was faced with a Hispanic customer and his prejudices emerged, but it's hard not to apply occam's razor in this situation. He seemed bewildered that I, a customer, had the audacity not to know exactly how to navigate his post office, and would frequently turn to his sole co-worker to snicker and whisper when I had a question or wasn't sure how things are done (speaking as someone who doesn't send mail directly at USPS facilities very often and was just looking for some simple guidance). The employee did the bare minimum of his job well enough, but it would behoove him to remember that he is there to help customers, despite any prejudices he may have towards certain customers -- his job description does not include profiling individuals and changing his behavior according to his own bigotry. He should leave his feelings at the door, because behaving like a snickering child in front of a customer couldn't possibly reflect well on USPS. It's not 1950 anymore -- treat people with respect or find employment where the opposite is celebrated, because plenty of those places still exist. I will be warning anyone who asks about my experience at this location.

The best time to go is early morning or afternoon. If you towards closing 4pm to 5 pm it's usually a line and crowded. If you have prepaid labeled packages you can leave them at the front desk. Outgoing already stamped mail can go in the door slot. It's not bad, just go at a good time.

I don't live in Newport , but as part of my job must visit Newport P.O. regularly. It must be the luxury of having a government job, but these guys are NEVER in a hurry to help anyone. I have spoken with James Bosley, the Postmaster about missing deliveries and he literally started telling me about all the pallets of late mail that he had sitting in their warehouse. You MUST go to the office for complaints as there is not ONE phone number that doesn't ring into infinity (or a message that they aren't picking up right now, duh). No wonder so much mail fraud is happening, these guys don't even care. It's very frustrating as a person who works in the private sector where you have to hustle every day, to deal with people who so obviously don't give a darn. I see some of these reviews. These are a bunch of scabs who can't make it in the real world. I don't believe for a second that these guys are "overworked" (translates to working a full day) or "understaffed"(translates to unwilling to pick up the pace). In the real world we have all gotten used to carrying more of the load, hustling harder and getting more done in less time than ever. Get a grip, do your job and don't act so put upon. It's your JOB! (By the way, 0 STARS is not an option or I would have used it) Have a good day!

Never pick up the phone. Government employees are the worst kind. Do they train them to be slow and incompetent, or do they just pick the worst people to work at this post office?

Utter garbage. Never answer phone. Garbage delivery. Took my mail and lied about it. Privatize USPS already!

Totally unprofessional clerks working the front desk. They haven't been delivered all of my mail lately. The big yt guy is extremely rude and I had made several complaints and yet nothing has been done. At this point I'm thinking about suing for emotional distressed and tampering with my mail. I have never seen such incompetent employees in my entire life.
