I left my phone on the check out counter there and when I got to my car I realized I left my phone in the store. Of course when I got back in there it was gone. The sweet lady at the register let me use the store phone and magically the phone appeared on the counter. I’m pretty sure a customer, who was being checked out, returned my phone putting it back on the counter. I was just thankful the lady let me use their phone because I suspected the dude but I didn’t want to start accusing anyone.

This is the only men's and women's clothing store in Baton Rouge that I know of that does not carry any men's shoes, none at all.. I wasted my time and gas....

Line moved pretty quick for being a Saturday.

really great place to shop if you want that name brand stuff without the name brand pricing! Clothes, shoes, socks, bedding, rugs, small furniture, lots of home decor dishes, jewelery, etc.

Major pros and cons to this TJ Maxx location. If you are looking for an inexpensive gift, home decor, handbags, clothes or jewelry and need a one stop shop, this is your place. My husband loves coming here for that simple reason. Service is spotty and sometimes items are piled together on clearance so sloppy that none of the items are worth purchasing. With that said, I almost always buy something here. My favorite items to buy here are the kitchen items and men's clothes. Very good prices. My least favorite items are the kids clothes. They seem to fit awkwardly.

You’ll find a good deal. You just have to look around.

Disorganized! Horrible selections! Just bad! My mom drove an hour to spend some time with me but she also wanted to go to TJ Maxx and see if we could find anything we might or might not need(the one near her is much MUCH MUCH nicer) she and I were disappointed by this location. It was dirty, the selection was scarce, we walked out of there shaking our heads and promising yourselves we would never waste our time in that jungle again.

I used to love this store before they hire some very unprofessional and rude employees. The manager Geraldine and her cashier "Danielle" should not be working in customer service since they have no idea how to treat customers with respect, they argue and even yell at customers. I will never go back to this store again!!...

Love the Store, but Checkouts are too too LONG anytime you go there

I live right behind this tj maxx & i come in all the time & i usually have a great shopping experiance. Until 2 nights ago on sunday nov 5th 2017, i went to tj maxx pretty early around 1pm & did some light shopping... i saw a pair of shoes i liked but wasnt sure if i wanted to get them so i made my other purchases & walked home. A couple hours later i decided id go back & buy the shoes. It was roughly 7:45 when i left my house & i got there at 7:48 (literally right in my back yard) sundays hours are 11-8pm... when i got there, i noticed a lady was standing outside trying to get someones attention because the doors were already locked & no one bothered to come open the door for her, i saw employees walk past ignoring her & all she had in her hands was a return. A customer happened to walk out from the exit when i walked up so myself & the lady who was standing outside walked in. I headed straight to the shoe dept to look for the shoes & couldnt find them. i do recognize its almost closing time but the store was not closed. I didnt touch anything as i had noticed the shoe dept had already been sized & organized, I wasnt looking for anything else or touching anything when i noticed an older female employee came over & was staring me down...... i kept looking for the shoes & she eventually broke her awkard stare with "did i need anything? Not even a "how can i help you?" ... I explained about how i was there earlier & saw the shoes & i reassured her i was only looking for those shoes but she kept looking at me with a rude stare. Another employee walked up to her to see what was going on and they both expressed VERY VISABLE frustrated "wtf" kind of looks to each other which made me feel very uncomfortable. Ive worked retail before at a very busy mall & as much as it is exausting we never locked the doors or announced before the actually closing hour that we were closed. If we did, we would KINDLY announce "store will be CLOSING soon..." , It was only 7:52, and in the 2 mins i was there i heard 2 over head annoucements that the store was closed and to take your purchases to the registers. I think the attitude & reactions i got from that particular employee was very unprofessional. Its november. Holiday season. last minute shoppers are inevitable so she needs to do a better job of putting on a smiling face & provide superior customer service instead of making customers feel like they are a hassle. Or not work the closing shift if she doesnt like to stay late... Or just get herself another job. I hope my next experiance isnt this unpleasant.

A bit messy but all in all a great place to find useful items for much cheaper than regular retail stores.

Okay, so discount department stores are kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. I admit that I can walk aimlessly around one for hours. Even though I don't need anything in particular, I just like to shop around for something that I eventually will realize I need. During my last visit, it was a Sunday evening, just around the time the school year started. I was looking for a backpack with wheels for my daughter, laundry baskets for her and a screen protector for my phone. Surprisingly enough, I found exactly what I needed without too much digging. It's fairly organized for the most part and there are some pretty cool finds, if you're lucky. Beware of the snacks and packaged foods they sell - check the expiration dates! Will I be back? Always because their prices are right and fairly decent quality, too. Come check out their clothing, luggage, housewares, shoes and more! I love the fact that no matter how busy they get, the lines always move fast. They always realize when they need more cashiers, so the line doesn't get bogged down. Location, you ask? It's in the same strip mall as Bed, Bath & Beyond, Shoe Carnival, Jo-Ann's and Old Navy.

Absolutely love this place. The best retailer that United States ever had. The only problem is they dont organize well or often enough.

Actually had pretty equal brands to Marshalls, which I found surprising as typically Marshalls has better brand selections. The store is a little hectic but overall good finds!

They were closing when I got there, so I was only in there 10 minutes, but from what I could tell it was super nice for a discount store. Store was organized, there were displays and some nice clothes.

Dirty, messy and unorganized are some of the words that can define this particular TJ-MAXX. Though terms like these usually plague most of the stores of this type, this one was extra messy. Fortunately for us we found our diamond in the rough, a $10 Lodge black iron skillet, and were very happy. They do have a larger store, and a good selection but as we know, stores like this are hit and miss. It can be a waist of time or a great stop. That's why I'm rating it 3 stars to keep it in the middle.

Don't expect to look at any of the jewelry in the cases if there is even one other person around, and worse than that don't expect them to even tell you about the "policy". What you can expect is awful customer service. My 1 year old niece is more mature than the undereducated cashiers that work here. The inventory isn't special, most of what is actually worth buying is damaged, the store is a MESS, and the bathrooms look like they will break when you even look at anything in them. Do yourself a favor and go to the one in Hammond!

Great store little mess but it's ok

The purpose of visiting a discounted store like TJ Maxx or Marshalls or even Goodwill in a city like Baton Rouge is completely defeated by the high sales tax percentage of a whopping 9%. In addition to this, this TJ Maxx doesn't have a good selection of particularly anything. Most of the clothes I perused were either in the wrong sections, out of order, or on the ground. Finding a good deal isn't impossible here, however, it's one of those places where digging in a pile may be required for something nice. The dressing rooms here are also a mess. I stepped a couple of needles that were obviously not sifted from the ground, but thanks to my lovely rubber kicks, I avoided an accidental acupuncture session. Letting customer service hear my complaint only prompted an apathetic excuse, "Oh really? Alright. We'll have someone look into it." The slowest and most painful experience is the customer returns. The people are nice and all, but the slow pace of answering phone calls while tip toeing to another errand along the counter, makes for many unhappy customers. I'm willing to bet once the shift is over, they're sprinting for the door. Other than the things mentioned above, this store can be a great time killer. Patience is required for almost all things in Baton Rouge, especially during the shopping frenzied holidays.
