We rented a side by side from Beach Bum Rental aka Sharky’s for 3+ days cash up front. On the second day it broke down on the beach. It took more than 3 hours for the worker to reach us. He brought oil with him because evidently this is not the first time for this to happen. He filled the oil and it started. The machine was not leaking oil, it was using oil or low when we took possession of it. The worker said he would address this issue the next morning. We did not get a call from him. We called him to return the machine because it was still sputtering and dying on us. It was not a trustworthy machine to be out in the beach in. We drove it back sputtering the entire way and ask for a refund of at least one day. The worker told us to call the owner. The owner Dustin Cheramie was not helpful at all said we had NO recourse. There happened to be a city policeman near. We stopped him to get advice and help. He said he was very sorry this happened to us and unfortunately we were NOT the first. Do not rent from Beach Bums. The machines are in disrepair and the customer service is nonexistent. IF you choose to ignore this review, read every word of the contract you sign because they won’t enlighten you until after the fact.

Sharky’s is now Beach Bum’s Golfcart Rental. Great service to Grand Isle State Park. Cart delivered and picked up by them. Arrived clean and ready to go. December 2024. We would rent from them again.

Called to try to rent jet ski it was $175 a hour and I was really looking to have fun every time I called they said they would call back never did kept playing with me I would not recommend this place this is sad

if i could give zero stars i would. we were given a half a tank golf cart with a very wobbly steering wheel and it was already damaged causing something to break “because of us” when it was already in risk. We talk to the owners about everything and they said they would talk to the higher up person, dustin, and see what he thinks. We were told no charges would be made to the card until a discussing was held with the owners and then with us (to be on the same page). Soon after they overly charged for “damages we’ve created” with no warning. Dustin then proceeded to be very unprofessional with the conversation THROUGH TEXTS THERE IS PROOF using profanity and insults. i would not ever spend a penny here again and if you don’t like unprofessional behavior i would suggest you stay far away from this “business”

the golf cart that we had rented was already broken before we got it. the steering wheel was shaking and the gas pedal was loose. the safety bar in the back of the golf cart was already broken off when we got it and poorly put back together. when we returned it we were charged with a over exhaterated fee.

UPDATE: Here for the weekend and much to our surprise it's now called Beach Bum. Same great service and despite bad reviews we are never disappointed. We found our cart, found keys and never had a problem as the owner stayed on the phone with us. It's good to know Dustin and his wife are overcoming all odds after Ida and they are still here. Thank you!! We will be back. See you next trip.The only thing bad about Sharkys is having to drop off the cart when your vacation is up. Absolutely everything from the pick up to return could not have been more easier. Mr Sharky is an awesome guy and between him and his wife they can provide the most value for your buck. I highly recommend them. Thank you, oh yea, call them and ask about camp/cart bundle. Wish we had called them sooner.

Very Poor Customer Service!!! Contacted him by phone for a half day cart rental at 2:30pm on 3/15/2023. We agreed on $80 cash and was instructed to proceed to his lot and fill out paperwork with no personal contact. After 16 text and phone calls we weren't able to find a key to any cart on his lot that was operational. Requested that he come to his lot to find us an operational cart and he refused. 45 minutes wasted and NO cart. Wish we could give him 0 stars.*UPDATE: A response ( see below ) by the owner to a negative review proves my point. Responding to a customer with STUPID and IGNORANT, is IGNORANCE in itself on how to run a business. Find key 45 or 21 in the picture I posted, it is nowhere to be found. The owner was too lazy to appear at his place of business to assist his customer. Again Poor Customer Service.

I was in contact with Sharkys a week before my day trip on Grand Isle, and had a smooth rental transaction on the day of my rental. Ashley was in contact with me for my rental, and I had a great day with the beach cart. If anyone decides to visit Grand Isle, you will need a beach cart for the 10 miles of beach available. So, I give Sharky's 5 stars for a great day I had.

Sharky's is an ok place to rent carts. Two reasons why it is not perfect is one because the girl who rented us the cart could have explained how to run it a little better. I never drove a cart before, and her directions were a bit confusing. And two even though Sharky's does NOT have hidden fees as another reviewer mentioned, there is a fee to use credit cards to pay with, which we were notified of. Square Trade charged 16 dollars. It would have been better to pay with cash.

Great service , our cart broke down on the middle of the beach and in matter of minutes someone was there to tow us and give us another cart , thank you guys will use you guys again !

Negative review! Tried contacting several times, over 2-3 days about reserving a golf cart for a weekend trip we would be staying and could never get a response back other than "send me a text with your name and number and I will call when I get to the office". He did not in fact call back and doesn't pick up the phone when called. My significant other tried to call as well. As stated above happened but he also blocked my significant other's number. So do not recommend this place for the simple fact of how the business is being ran.

Overpriced with hidden fees that are not explained. Would recommend going with Island Adventure since they are less expensive and nicer golf carts
