This week I drove to the Shreveport area for work. We were pulling a heavy boat. A piece on my transmission failed at the end of our workday as we were pulling the boat out of the water. Me and my crew were in a very bad spot, and far from home. I was referred to ATR by a co-worker that lives in the Shreveport area. I spoke to Christina with ATR Transmission, and she was very helpful. She helped me and my co-workers line up a towing service and was very knowledgeable and accommodating. When I described to her what was going on with my vehicle, Christina helped diagnose what was going on with the truck's transmission. She and one of her mechanics called me and walked me through steps to get my truck back into gear to make it back home without bringing the truck to her. She and her mechanic helped me get back to my family on time and in one piece. I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to speak with and work with someone that was so knowledgeable, honest and helpful. Thank you!!

Small operation, but very honest and comprehensive Information and repair. We had a 6L80 from a 13 Yukon done last week. The guy doing the work has been at it for 42 years. They had better than factory components for some things and give a one-year warranty. They REALLY make sure to flush the transmission fluid radiator cooler., which is super important to get any metal filings out of the radiator / cooler that could re-enter the rebuilt transmission and quickly cause damage again. They have a hot flusher machine for this. Driven it for three days now and it drives like a new vehicle, I had forgotten what New felt like.
Christina is very helpful and knowledgeable, she can tell you every brand of every component they use, without looking it up. I had heard that Joe Richelles (sp?) in Bossier will often tell people that their 6L80 it’s not rebuildable or too damaged, Whereas ATR said they’ve never had one they can’t rebuild. The Bossier place says that because they just get too backed up and they can make just as much money for a simpler swap out with a rebuilt one on the shelf. Which will cost you more because they have to reprogram the computer with a different non native transmission, whereas with your own transmission, they don’t have to reprogram. Good people good work. Listed with a Better Business Bureau says a lot. A friend of mine recommended them because a few years ago they had an old oil fill water hauler truck rebuilt with them. He said they were honest and straightforward, and the truck is still running good. I Highly recommend them. Will update if I have any troubles.

Honest repair. This is the only transmission so in the area that I have NOT had to come behind them and straighten out a mess or expose fraudulent repairs. They really do the right thing by the customer and I applaude their ethics.

I picked up a 2014 GMC with over 200K miles for a low usage truck mainly for hauling trash to the dump and running an occasional errand. The newly built transmission was leaking so I took it to David and his crew at Auto Transmission. He identified the problem and fixed it for a very fair price but also informed me of a few other issues he saw such as a broken engine mount and a dented drive shaft that were probably contributing to my vehicle not driving as smoothly as it should. I got the engine mount repaired fairly easy but when it came to the drive shaft I had to have it removed and take it into the repair shop. Even though this isn’t their area of expertise David removed my drive shaft and when he discovered I didn’t have someone with a truck to take it over to the shop he told me to throw it on the back of his truck and we rode together to the drive shaft shop about a mile or so from his shop. I’m 50 years old and have been having vehicles repaired for well over 30 years. I have never received better service from an automotive mechanic and I’ve had some good ones. These guys are second to none!

They found a leak in the trans. when the car went up in the lift and asked me to come back to the shop and talk about the options. The leak appeared to be cause by a lose screw in the trans. adapter and that's why it ran low on oil. They tightened the screw and serviced the trans. with new oil and filter. Transmission works like new and the leak stopped. I am a customer for life. thanks

Great service and fair prices. They're very transparent and I never felt they would ever attempt to sell a customer something they don't need.
