This is the most beautifully curated boutique. I loved the focus on small brands and artists. I bought one item in person and after I returned home to another state, I regretted not having bought another item. I called the store and MK was very helpful in finding the item and shipping it to me. I wish I could shop there regularly!

This is the BEST place to shop for gifts!! You can find something for anyone here - beautiful tea towels, matches, mugs, cards, art pieces, puzzles, etc. I always find some treasure here. The staff are kind and knowledgable. This is a must-go in Harvard square!

While it’s new location is off the beaten path of Harvard Square (corner of 26 Church Street & Palmer), it’s not to be missed. Helpful customer service with a dash of conversation (and directions & suggestions) will add to a unique experience while browsing for a gift for yourself or others. Scarves, jewelry, tabletop accessories, stationery and more!

Motto is a very unique shop. Almost everything it carries is by a special designer - ceramics (much is Japanese), jewelry, scarves, leather goods, frames, candle sticks, prints, and much more. Everything is gorgeous, unique, very well made. It is a delight to visit the store.

I have known Kim now for six years. And my every interaction with her as owner and curator of Motto has been perfectly wonderful. Her customer service is hands down the highest quality. A level you just don’t experience any more in retail. The quality and diversity of the productsyou also just can’t find in the Boston area anymore.Everything they sell you can find online m.

This is a wonderful store selling gorgeous handmade items which are displayed in a unique and beautiful space in Harvard Square. I think the owner, Kim, has a great eye and I always manage to find something that knocks my socks off. (Hence, I can't visit often!) I have bought mostly jewelry and scarves here over the years, but also some lovely pottery and home wares. The prices are generally on the high side, commensurate with artisan quality and materials, but you can find some great inexpensive items as well like puzzles, candles and coasters, even if your budget is under $30. Customer service is friendly, helpful and accommodating with no hard sell tactics whatsoever. I treasure this store and hope it can weather the pandemic economy because there is no online or chain substitute for what it offers.

Lovely store offering a variety of carefully curated clothing, jewelry, and decorative objects. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Located in the heart of Harvard Square, just a 30-second walk from one of the MBTA "red line" Harvard station entrances.

Made my first visit to the new location last week. It is even more beautiful than the old shop. The selection is larger and the irresistible home items collection has been expanded. I fell in love with the Zero translucent bags. I bought 2 different ones to use for packing toiletries on my upcoming trip. They are so special, I can't wait to use them!

I finally had a chance to stop by the new location and it's beautiful! So easy to browse the collection, which is a very pleasant way to spend some time. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but fell in love with the translucent Zero bags. I bought 2 different shaped bags to contain toiletries for traveling. They are so cool. Thank you, MOTTO!

Thank you, Kim, for locally owned durable excellence: Beautiful handcrafts that are curated by you and like-minded makers. Folks who receive gifts from me are the beneficiaries!
