I purchased 23 flat Roman shades for several rooms in my house back in 2019. The shades look fine and served their purpose for several years, however, the quality is not the best compared to many other companies. The sales person was helpful and the installation went smoothly, however, I would like to point out the issues I have with the hope that it may help others who are considering purchasing from The Shade Store.Until the shades were installed in my home I did not realized that they are constructed using some type of glue rather than being stitched with a sewing machine, which definitely affects the quality. I chose several different fabrics, some with privacy liners and some with blackout, and all the shades hold their creases, even when left closed for long periods of time. I have had these for four years and have tried steaming multiple times but the creases remain. Lastly, the continuous loop controls do not run smoothly and are very loud. I have to finagle the control to close the shades all the way. If any of these issues concern you then it may be a good idea to take a closer look prior to making your purchase.I was unable to add photos to this review.

I’m now waiting for the third round of delivery after two rounds of wrong/missing shades. Yikes. Stay away!Also they mixed up my email and an internal email so they exposed client data to me. They don’t care about customer privacy.EDIT: they tried to bully me via email into taking this review down. I won’t and I lowered it to one star as a result.

The experience from start to finish with the Shade Store has been terrific. We walked in cold and Laura Stanzione could not have been friendlier, more welcoming or helpful. We found the perfect material for our Roman Shades and they came out beautifully. Their process has been seamless from the choosing of material and type of shade to the measuring person to the installation team. We couldn't be happier and we recommend The Shade Store unequivocally.

My experience with Laura Stanzione was amazing. She was helpful from the beginning to the end. A pleasure to work with her and the drapes were just beautiful . The drapes were about 20 feet long and required a lot of extra attention to get them installed and motorized.They did it seamlessly. Very pleased with everything.

Having just bought a condo and struggling to figure out our interior decoration situation, we headed to The Shade Store to look at window treatment options. We worked with Laura to figure out our needs and overall vision for the rooms. She was extremely helpful and patient in giving us the tools and designer insight (and so many swatches!) while we worked on finalizing our plans for the rooms. The results were stunning and definitely extremely luxe! Our bedroom looks like a 5 star hotel with its beautiful drapery now!When minor issues regarding scheduling or fit did come up, Laura and the store were extremely helpful in accommodating our requests.Overall, we were thoroughly impressed by the professionalism, customer service, and the sheer variety of fabrics that TSS offered. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful experience with the shade store. My design consultant was Laura Stanzione, and I cannot recommend her enough. She was very patient with me and helped me pick the right materials, color and scheme for the entire first floor and basement of my new home. She spent time with me in the store, getting to know what I wanted and recommended fabric and woven woods shades accordingly. She steered me in the right direction whenever I became overwhelmed with all the choices. She went above and beyond, even helping me take pictures in natural light. I explored other companies, but I ultimately chose the shade store because of the quality of their products, the vast array of choices and because of Laura's excellent customer service. The free measurement went off without a hitch and their installation was smooth and quick. I highly recommend you ask for Laura in the Chestnut hill location; you will NOT be disappointed. I was initially skeptical because of the negative reviews the Shade store has online but I was pleasantly surprised, I dare say Laura made all the difference. She monitored my order even after it was placed, called to inform me of delivery, and called me after installation to ensure I was satisfied with the products. Her recommendation for drapes was totally spot on, I'm so glad I listened to her. She's an excellent design professional and very passionate about her job. Thank you, Laura! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have more windows to treat on the second floor and I look forward to working with Laura again.

We couldn't be happier with our flat Roman shades. Our Shade Store rep helped us every step of the way, making sure we got exactly what we wanted. Our shades are beautifully made and the quality is top notch. We would recommend The Shade Store without hesitation.

I'm updating my review to 2 stars instead of 1. After 3 months of not getting anywhere with fixing the problem, I received a message right away to make things right after I left my first review. Tami was understanding and friendly on the phone. She assured me that she would take over management of our order and expedite the delivery. She did so and also honored my request to have an experienced installer come for the third installation appointment. I'm happy to report that the remade shades fix the initial problem and Tami did follow through on what she promised.It should not take a negative review for a company to stand behind their work. Also, it was disheartening to receive an email after such a positive phone conversation with Tami (and before anything had been made right with my order/installation) saying, "I do hope my immediate response and actions are helping to turn your experience around and I would like to ask if you would please remove the review in good faith, allowing me the opportunity to double all efforts to make this right for you." That sentence definitely sounds like better service is conditional on removing the review. I told her that it was premature, since nothing had been done yet, and that I would update my review after everything was resolved (as I am doing now). After that, I received additional emails asking me to remove or update my review. Those emails made me feel uncomfortable.I am grateful that the problem with the shades was finally addressed and that Tami oversaw the matter well. However, it should not take a negative public review to get decent service and a company should not push a customer to remove or update reviews that accurately reflect poor service from their employees. They should just be apologetic and make it right.Based on these experiences, I would not order anything from the Shade Store in the future. We ended up putting Smith and Noble shades in most of our house and, though we ran into technical challenges with their motorization, the customer service at Smith and Noble could not have been better. They continued to work with us and stay in touch until our issues were resolved. Next time, I'll definitely purchase from Smith and Noble again, not The Shade Store.

UPDATED REVIEW:What really matters to me is how a company handles things when there is a problem. Things happen, what matters is how you handle it. I have to hand it to The Shade Store - Tami reached out to me and once she understood what had happened, she had my new shades here on site and installed within a week. I really appreciate her effort to make things right, and I recommend them highly because of this. The shades themselves are exactly what I wanted and look amazing. Kudos to Tami!---These are lovely but expensive shades. So imagine my surprise when installation day finally arrived only to find out that the box contained an order for someone else. Now I have to wait for the company to make new shades for me and for them to be delivered etc before I can schedule installation. Again. For this kind of money, this is not what I expected. Customer service line was apologetic - but I had to call them. My salesperson did not seem particularly concerned or interested. Once the shades are up I will post final review.
