Wow! What a find. From the moment we stepped in the door, greeted by assistant manager and baker extraordinaire, Ellen, who had our room ready early, it was a lovely experience. Everything other guests have said about complimentary breakfast is true. Coffee is excellent, and I haven’t had such a tasty and healthy breakfast in a long time. Go here!

Quaint Penthouse room with premium amenities. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets and pillows like diving into cloud. The inclusive breakfast accommodation was delicious and the back fireplace a dream with a nice glass of wine.
Nearby activities: A few bike shops for a beautiful ride to South Beach Edgartown
Food & drinks: The Atlantic around the corner is the best restaurant on the island.

Excellent boutique hotel that avoids the day traffic in Oak Bluffs. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and had good variety. When we return to the Vineyard, this will most assuredly be one of the few places we will go.

Always a delight. One night we got home too late for cookies and the manager made fresh ones for us. We stayed here for years when it was Victorian Inn and Lark has only built upon what Steve and Karin created.

This place is just the best!! The location couldn’t be better - steps off the middle of Main Street. The breakfast was to die for - a healthy mix of baked goods and fruit. And freshly baked chocolate chip cookies every afternoon. But the staff! They were so lovely. We can’t wait to come back! Thanks so much Ellen and team! ?

Perfect stay at a perfect (for us) hotel. Historic charm, Super convenient location, pristine room with lovely details (super comfy bed) and warm and helpful clerk (who graciously upgraded us to a king suite upon hearing of my husbands birthday...and of course availability). Room 11, 3rd floor has two entries to a large balcony (with chairs) and a fabulous view with peaks of the water. For those with mobility issues this may not be for you as the stairs are narrow and steep (there is one queen room on the first floor). Nice to offer a small breakfast selection of danish and fruit, but it's not going to fill your belly :) My only other tiny peeve is that the sheets were a thin tencel fabric, which, while super silky, are not helpful for us women with temperature control issues :)I look forward to returning to this Edgartown gem!

The Christopher Hotel is an absolute gem in the heart of Edgartown. If you are a Jaws enthusiast, you will love this location. In addition to the front of the Christopher hotel appearing in the movie, Jaws, the kitchen in the Christopher is also the set of the coroners office scene in the Jaws film. Aside from the movie fame, this hotel is in the heart of downtown. You can literally park your car and spend a weekend just walking around the local town. Thanks to 3rd and 4th generation islander recommendations you will enjoy the finest cuisine in the area within walking distance of The Christopher. The local people in all the shops and restaurants are probably some of the nicest people we have ever met, and made us feel like family within minutes of meeting. The rooms at The Christopher are clearly newly renovated in a beautiful nautical design and the gorgeously varnished banister leads you up to your rooms. Once we entered our room you could clearly see all the wood work/wood staining and all of the beautifully executed renovations they did. The bedding/ comforter were perfectly executed, clean and crisp and bath towels were also perfectly cleaned and crisp. I cannot say enough about the main suite, bathroom, balcony, and the balcony view from our room which overlooked the beautiful garden area. At night the garden area has a gorgeous gas fire feature which is cozy and inviting. If you enjoy star gazing, you will love to just lean your head back and enjoy the skies from this location. The staff at The Christopher were some of the greatest hosts we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Neusa and Ellen were like family to us while we were here. The banana bread they brought out in the morning was absolutely delicious!!! We went down for more than one helping!!! Not to mention the giant fresh baked chocolate chip cookies that just drew us out of our room!We will definitely be revisiting The Christopher and would highly recommend staying here!!!Rooms: Absolutely beautiful!Walkability: So close to so many stores and restaurants!

We were there on our honeymoon. We also specifically told them it was our honeymoon when we booked. We ended up next to a couple with two very noisy children... At times, it felt like the children were in the room with us! Luckily, they checked out the second day. The sheets are cheap microfiber with random hair all over it! Just everything stuck to it! Drove me nuts for 5 days! I immediately notice all the hair upon our arrival (before sitting or laying or touching the bed), they changed the sheets. However, every time the room was serviced there would be new hair! They clearly did not vacuum the room before our arrival because the floor also had random hair all over the carpet. This would stick to our feet then to the cheap sheets. I complained, as we were headed out for the day. They said they would take care of it, and they didn’t. I kept taking sheets out of the closet and changing my bed myself ( with lint roller to assist). I have never experienced something like this issue before, and I have traveled a lot and stayed at many hotels ranging from low to high end. They need to invest in regular linen sheets, and have a better laundry process. For the price, I wish we had just stayed at Harbor View which is more expensive but has more amenities, and likely not a hair problem! The breakfast was good. Lobby was decorated nice. Location good.

This was our second year in a row staying at a lark hotel. Last year we stayed at the Richard in Edgartown. The room was very nice, bathroom was small but the biggest problem were the ants in the room. I let them know and they sprayed the room, then it smelled like insecticide. That would have been okay if the problem was eradicated. That night I found ants crawling across my pillow. When you spend almost $700 per night, you definately expect more than an I'm sorry and I told my manager from the kitchen staff.

My cousin was getting married in Martha's Vineyard and there were so many hotels listed on her website it was hard to choose. My family and I ended up choosing The Christopher for its central location in downtown Edgartown. We truly had no idea what to expect. In all honesty, it's probably the most money I've ever spent on a hotel, but I do love staying at boutique hotels for the unique experience. I am aN ambassador for Marriott so it's not often I stay in anything but. I was truly looking forward to this one specifically. A few days before we were scheduled to check in, I got a text message from them asking me a few questions about our reservation. For instance, we had our one year old with us and he needed to sleep in a pack and play. They said they had one available, which was great. One less thing to travel with. We traveled all morning and I was getting nervous about what time I'd be able to nap him since it said our check-in time was 4 PM. They allowed for us to check in when we got there at noon. They also upgraded us to a bigger room at no cost knowing that we had our son. The only issue was, it was right next to the check in so at times it could be loud, but it didn't bother us at all and we loved the extra space. The location is perfect seeing as that it is right downtown and within walking distance to so much. The service was great, Josie was the front desk receptionist who was there the most often and she was so sweet and helpful. The check-in process couldn't be more easy. They have you pay half of your reservation upon booking, and the rest when you arrive. They also have a plated breakfast with coffee and tea each morning which I didn't even know about, it was really delicious and healthy. There was hard boiled eggs, yogurt parfaits, chia pudding, yogurt, smoked salmon on toast, etc. They will keep the coffee and tea out until about 11 AM. They have a beautiful outside patio in the back with a fire pit. It's easy to miss, you actually have to go out front and walk around in order to access it. They have a great area in the front with chairs you can sit on and watch the beauty of Martha's Vineyard passing by. The room itself was very lovely. They also have a water station so you can fill up your water and not have to pay a bunch of money on buying multiple water bottles. The only thing I would say that would be somewhat negative is that we bought a carton of milk for my son, and it didn't hold overnight because the refrigerator just wasn't strong enough. I didn't complain but I did let them know when we left so the next guest would not have to deal with that. Overall, I enjoyed this stay. It was very expensive, but it was a very luxurious experience and worth it. If ever back in Edgartown, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I stayed at the christopher in martha's vineyard for two days this past week.Marla works at the front desk and was nothing short of amazing from the time we checked in to when we checked out. About an hour prior to getting in Marla gave us a call check and see what time we'd be getting in. I do like that because you can tell they like to be prepared. Upon our arrival Marla checked us in and right away marked out a map of suggestions for places to visit things to do and restaurants to visit. This was extremely helpful being it was a short trip so it saved us time to figure out things. We were able to get to about 6 places that Marla suggested and all 6 that we were able to get to were great! Marla even rented us a jeep wrangler to help us to get around which was a lot easier than having to go to a rental place to get a car.Every morning marlanhad freshly prepared breakfast bags with the menu and music suggestions and a inspirational quote attached, this was a very sweet sentiment and a nice way to start each day. Due to covid a lot of things change, but at the christopher you'd never notice or feel inconvenienced in anyway as the staff does everything to make you feel comfortable and safe.As for the actual buolding, the hotel is very well kept, and clean. Our room was gorgeous and cozy. Everything was well cleaned and well kept. There is a beautiful rear patio with a fire pit to hang out in the afternoons as well. I highly recommend staying here and my wife and I will surely be back!
