Literally everything was great. The inn, the atmosphere, the breakfast. And of course, the service. Katey does a wonderful job.

Perfect choice…clean house, friendly staff & perfect location PLUS hot cookies each afternoon. Walking distance to great restaurants, shopping & sites. Plus parking.
Walkability: All immediate area attractions are less than a 1 mile walk, most within .5.

This hotel staff went far above and beyond to make our experience special. One of the better hotels we've ever stayed at. The location is also excellent, as it is walking distance from Edgartown restaurants and two blocks from the bus station. Can't speak highly enough about this place.

This very elegant boutique hotel in Edgartown offers breakfast and extremely upscale rooms! Cable TV and Netflix, Hulu are available too. Many places to sit and lounge throughout the property. My room (15) was awesome with small fridge and Many windows! Location is walkable to all that Edgartown offers. The fresh cookies upon arrival were delicious as was the breakfast in the morning! Local eggs and fresh baked croissants and bread. The front desk staff (Mia) was also the server for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel although it is pretty pricey!! That was the only part of my stay that hurt a bit. But it's worth it!

Rooms: The Lark Suite was a perfect space for our recent stay. The rooms and decor had a modern look and feel.Nearby activities: A day trip to Oak Bluffs is fun with a rustic feel. Best lobster roll ever at The Lookout!Food & drinks: Local restaurants are all excellent: Alchemy, Bettini, Covington, and The Port Hunter.

Wow! We recently stayed at The Richard while getting married! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with an incredible staff! We couldn't have asked for more. The breakfast was always fresh and the cookies spoiled us. Yari is absolutely irreplaceable! She had answers for all our questions and wonderful suggestions. We felt at home! We will definitely come see you again!

This was our second visit to The Richard and it was just as wonderful as our first visit in 2019. The hotel is perfectly located literally steps away from the restaurants, shops, and bus station. We loved the boutique feel and Mia at the front desk was sweet and helpful. The rooms are modern and very clean and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is more bite size, but everything is home made or brought in by local bakeries/farms. They had fresh cookies every afternoon and they always had tea, coffee, and water available. There were beach towels and beach chairs available if you wanted to go to head to the beaches that are easily accessible by bus. There’s also a beautiful outdoor patio with couches and chairs with a nice fire pit if you wanted to bring your own drinks there instead of heading to a bar at night.Staying the second weekend in June was perfect because it was busy enough in town, but it was before the summer rush. We had no issues getting dinner reservations and stores/streets weren’t overcrowded.Out of our two stays we have 0 complaints and cannot wait to come back again.

The Richard was an overall great place to stay. But here are some things to consider:Pros: Location, location location. The Richard's location is possibly the best in Edgartown. Whether you want to bike to South Beach or walk downtown for dinner, this is a great starting point. The courtyard was great, my wife and I enjoyed reading outside in the afternoons. The breakfast was convenient on our departure day.Cons: The rooms and property are small and cramped. While staying at the Richard, you are in very close quarters with the other guests. The staff also appeared live on the property and use it as their own. This gave more of an "AirBnB feel" to the property. The breakfast was little more than finger foods and would certainly disappoint those with a hearty appetite. The service was adequate and nothing more. Our room was only cleaned once during our 3.5 day stay despite using the door hanger we were provided. Conclusion: I'm not overly picky about vacation accommodations, but I don't feel like the lodging and service at The Richard reflect what we paid.
