I Family and I visited this place in 2019, and we have plans of going back soon. The art was awesome and somewhat unique and interesting, and we enjoyed the exhibits.

We visited for the day and saw a show in the evening. The space is really neat and the exhibits are beautiful and thought-provoking. The concert space is an outdoor courtyard with drinks, snacks, and food vendors available.

Specifically says on website “allowed to bring water bottles that are EMPTY” i had multiple staff harassing me and following me until i went back to my car. How are your staff so uneducated?? Fix this now or else im telling my family about my experience.

This is truly an amazing museum. I have never enjoyed myself this much in any museum. Loved the exhibits and particularly the installations.

A wonderful museum full of ever changing exhibitions, modern art that stimulates thought with being pretentious. Take time to wander and ponder and remove yourself from the noise of the world. Wear comfortable shoes......lots of hoofin' ( like we say in Massachusetts)....

There are excellent light-based exhibits that require you to reserve a spot ahead of time. The museum closes at 5, but one of these light based exhibits is only available during dawn or dusk when the museum is closed, so plan ahead to do something in the area if you are spending the whole day at the museum anyways.

One of my top 5 places on earth. The best modern art on the planet... accessible, immersive, and refreshed often enough to warrant a yearly visit. The latest big exhibit (kaino in the light of a shadow) is one of the best pieces I've ever seen. Best here since the Phoenix in ~2013.
2024 update: still incredible. Lots of investment in digital art, which is very fun to witness as an evolution.

MOCA as my local friend calls it. Is inspiring. Historic, local, quaint, ingenious. And it's ancient post-industrial largest or the grand wabi-sabi hallways of a perfect Museum scale. I would love to come here in Winter and experience The Great Indoors there. And then that's referring only to the space. The exhibits we saw were provocative enjoyable beautiful. Artists I've heard of like Laurie Anderson and many others I have not heard of

Fantastic place to check out art, and Music! In addition to wonderful exhibits, MassMoCa also Hosts Wilco's "Solid Sound" festival, which is a 3 day event showcasing a large gathering of Indie Musicians, comedy, and all around entertainment. This event happens every 2 year, and is easily worth the trip to North Adams (whis is beautiful in general!). I definitely recommend visiting MassMoCa any chance you get!
