Was here before the pool! Great massage. Great view. Great people. Lovely rooms even back then. And I still have the book so graciously gifted me. Have always wanted to return... And bring a book! Love to The Emerson!Rooms: 5/5

Awesome Anniversary weekend for us! This historic Inn is elegantly decorated in period furniture and accessories. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating especially Jennifer who we loved. They carried our bags to our rooms, provided us with ice, water and information in a timely fashion. The parlor lounge was perfect to entertain our local friends for drinks and dinner on Friday night. Not knowing what the Saturday night function would be like we joined the Kentucky Derby party and had a great time and met some nice people. The staff did a great job. Our room was sweet " The Emerson Room" It had a lovely view of the Ocean. Growing up on the North Shore of Boston I had many trips to Rockport and had passed by this inn numerous times. The enjoyment we felt, sitting on the porch rocking chairs soaking up the sun was wonderful and breathing in that sea air.I must return someday whether it only be for a cocktail and a look at the ocean.Food & drinks: Very good !

Excellent staff, amazing service, and wonderful room with a lovely view. The location right by the sea was breathtaking and the ambiance throughout was enchanting. Loved the live piano music in an inclusive lounge space that had us meeting new people and having the best time. I plan on trying to get back annually now.Rooms: 5/5

Very poor customer service. Had to cancel a reservation due to covid. They were very nice when I canceled and said I would receive a credit for the deposit (which they said they don't usually do but due to our situation they would do it). Was told I would get information to confirm this. Never received one. I sent email requesting cancelation confirmation and the information about the "gift card" credit. They left a voice message on my phone and said I would receive an email with information that night. (Again Never got said email)A month later I sent another email when I was charged the full price of our canceled stay. I got an email back saying I misunderstood and agreed to full amount being charged to my card and to boot had to use this said credit by November 2022 which they said I agreed to. Not sure how or when I agreed to anything IF NOBODY ever got in touch with me about this. Email even said no one ever responded back to me. I responded and asked when I agreed to this since no one responded to my emails. I have yet to get a response or apology from them. Disputed charge on my card because In my opinion they lack customer service. Sad thing is we were looking forward to a stay there. Definitely will stay someplace else next time we visit family in Rockport.

What a wonderful stay!!! Beautiful views and excellent staff! I have to say one of my favorite places of all time. Short drive to many many things. Surrounded by history and beautiful scenery. My wife and I enjoyed every minute and the sunrises were amazing. Our favorite person at the Inn was Cameron. Look forward to coming back.Rooms: 5/5

The service was beyond expectation! The views are incredible and the hotel is delightful. There is a wonderful porch to relax and enjoy the views or read a book or sip wine with friends. We would definitely return.Rooms: 5/5

We have visited Rockport every year for the past 36 years. We usually stay in the village, but decide to stay at The Emerson for this trip. We had stayed there once many years ago, but hadn't returned in a while. We plan on coming back - it was wonderful. It started with great staff and then the room was perfect. A dip in the salt-water pool after a 5 hour drive was terrific. Although there is no dinner, there was a very nice selection of appetizers and the bartender did a great job. There is nothing like sitting on that beautiful porch overlooking the ocean with a favorite beverage and some nice munchies. And the breakfast was top notch - great way to start the day! We look forward to our next visit!

My husband and I called for a room in a panic after another hotel we had reservations at was filthy. I called and was able to get a room that was ready within 20 mins of our call, despite the understaffing issue happening at all hotels.Upon check in, I casually expressed my gratitude in them saving my anniversary trip. They upgraded our room while we went to get our bags out of the car, and truly made a horror of a day much better. The staff went out of their way to give us a positive experience, despite only two staff being on site. It was apparent that the manager is dedicated to her field and enjoys her job.The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean and a pool. There were also games and lounge chairs in the grass area in front of the hotel, overlooking the ocean. All the staff was extremely friendly and personable. We enjoyed our included hot breakfast and the fantastic drinks at the bar.I stayed at the hotel prior to the change in management and the changes seem to generally be good. The hotel is more expensive than it was in the past, but clearly the pool/lawn area and the hot breakfast was upgraded. Given the price of all hotels at the moment, I don't think it's crazy but it certainly makes you think twice to do more than a night or two. Will return!

We had a lovely experience at this majestic hotel. While the room was small, waking up to the sunrise on the ocean was Everything!! The highlight of our stay was the entertainment on Thursday evenings in the summer. Tom Smoker and Friends performed for over 2 hours! This was a room filled with gifted, amazing talent. Our 12 year old son plays piano and he was invited to play a tune! THANK YOU for an unforgettable birthday!

We booked a one night stay a few weeks in advance. Incredible to even get something for an August date. The outside and inside are amazing. We were lucky to catch the entertainment on a Thursday evening. Very talented musicians. Piano and song. A few oldies and many from Broadway. Many patrons in the audience just happened to be musicians and gifted vocalists. A great night. Back porch views are epic. The Atlantic foot path is just steps away for a hike along granite cliffs that meet crystal clear water. Just a few minutes from downtown Rockport and its shops.

Place was lovely. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Kamron, are waiter was absolutely ? AMAZING! Problem was with stairs. There is no elevator and no rooms on first floor. We had a room with a king size gigantic bed and you needed stairs to get into it which was awkward. So beware. All in all in was beautiful.Rooms: 5/5

The inn's broad porch overlooks a lawn with interesting boulders popping through it, and beyond that, the ocean. Rooms vary in size and view. The people who work there were overwhelmingly helpful, and really made our stay relaxing.

We just returned from a four day/ 3 night stay and wanted to provide a realistic review of our experience and why we chose the rating we did. First, the not so good, the room and bathroom we had was TINY. I can't speak for all the rooms but the neighborhood queen was small and there's not really any place (Dresser) to unpack so we just sort of lived out of our suitcase at the foot of the bed. You're also going to want to be on very comfortable terms with your partner because the (minuscule) bathroom feels like it's pretty much in the room with you. I've stayed in "micro hotels" in NYC-this was smaller. There's nowhere to plug in things in in the bathroom and the only storage was over the toilet-not ideal as when I pulled a washcloth down, a tube of body wash fell in the toilet. The bed was hard and canted to one side so it wasn't the best nights sleep. I don't know if it was COVID related or due to the change in ownership but there was a new chef who started on our first breakfast day so it took about 1.5 hours between when we were seated to when we got breakfast and, in all honesty, it was bad. The special was lemon blueberry pancakes and they were dense, grainy and had bits of onion in them. We chose to eat offsite for the second day of our stay. Finally, for the not so good, the front desk staff was really inconsistent. The woman who was working on the day we checked in wasn't super hospitable-I was telling her about how this was a getaway for not only my husbands 50th but also our wedding anniversary as the dates fell between both and she gave a vague "that's nice" and just handed us the key. At the end of the night, after we had a few drinks on the porch, we brought in our glasses to try to make things easier for her and she sighed and seemed fairly annoyed. The good, the views are AMAZING. You cannot ask for a better view anywhere; it's honestly breathtaking, I can't say enough about how absolutely gorgeous it was. The pool was pretty and neat but too cool to use-not sure what type of heating they use but it couldn't have been more than 70 degrees at most. The inn and rooms were extremely clean and well kept. Aside from the first day, the remainder of the staff was super great, friendly and helpful. Cameron (I think was his name) was great and his mom who works the desk had him prep us a little to go breakfast bag before we left to pick up our kids from camp early sat morning which was really thoughtful and I wish she had been there when we checked in. The hotel is located about a mile or so from halibut point state park and that's a beautiful hike (I'd suggest walking if you're able as parking there was $20). The bartender who was there thurs and Friday night was really friendly and we enjoyed talking with her. There's always lemon water out And coffee and pastries were put out in the early am which was nice. There are some lawn games but one of the biggest highlights was just sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the ocean. I think with better training this place could be even better; the potential is definitely there but there are a few tweaks that need ironed out. All in all we loved the area and would absolutely return.
