They diagnosed it for free, which is great. They also rebuild their own transmissions instead of buying rebuilt, which I like.

I have had work done at Multistate Trans multiple times over the years. Most recent was a clutch replacement on a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. I trust these guys to determine the problem and get it fixed. Cal and company have done excellent work for me now and in the past. It’s a pleasure doing business with them.

Multistate Transmission has been successfully servicing my personal vehicles, as well as all my business trucks for over 17 years. The service is excellent, and Cal always keeps us informed. They are priced extremely well, and they stand behind all their work. Their expertise allows them to work quickly, but never sacrificing quality. Multistate is invaluable when it comes to keeping my personal and work trucks on the road in excellent working condition.

My 88 Wrangler is back on the road with a huge thanks to Cal at Multistate Transmission of Clawson for going above and beyond! He repaired the messy wiring and figured out why my neutral safety switch wasn't working fabricated a throttle kickdown bracket repaired my linkage rewired a different starter so we could use the available flexplate (btw they discontinued the Z 187 which was what I needed) replaced my coolant lines that were hacked together AND he fixed my transmission. I really can't thank him enough and I would recommend everyone having problems to take their vehicle to Cal @ Multistate Transmission of Clawson for top-notch service at a very reasonable rate.

I recently paid $4,000 for a transmission repair. Thinking after spending this amount of $ I would have an excellent car on my hands and I sold it as excellent working condition. Within 50 miles the transmission failed and I had to give the buyer back the $$ and take it back to the shop. They had the car for almost 2 weeks to repair the transmission again. They used to be a good reliable shop, but they aren't what they used to be. This was a botched transmission repair in the worst case. They originally offer to by the car for $1000 prior to the original repair. After they "fixed" the transmission for the 2nd time they were not longer interested in buying the car saying that they just bought other cars. Seems suspicious they no longer wanted the car after their repair failed. Personnel was nice .

This has been the worst experience getting vehicles fixed I have ever gone through. This is just the short version of the situation. First brought my van in for a ball joint. They said my ball joints were fine but I needed brakes over $1,200 later I got my brakes fixed only to have my ball joint break after they told me it was fine. Few months later the brakes go on my van they warrantied them and didn't have an explanation on why they went bad. It's now a few months later after they warrantied the brakes on my van and they're squealing and grinding once more. The second car that I brought to them during this time I brought it in for a squeaky belt. They said I needed new head gaskets because oil was spraying onto the belt and causing it to squeak $2,200 later I supposedly had my head gaskets fixed. Although the engine light was still on and the squeaking came back they then said it was power steering. Hundreds of dollars later I get it back everything's leaking again. The oil leaking was not their fault things like that happened but the leak was coming behind the transmission. They had to drop my transmission in order to fix the leak. Immediately after I got the car back after getting the leaks fixed my engine rebuilt it was stalling and then hand transmission problems. No more than a month later my transmission went. I go up there to get a report of everything that they did on my vehicles to know what exactly was replaced and what the process was on fixing what they have touched. My only intentions were just to know what exactly was fixed and not fixed and what the problems could be. They would not give me any copies an absolutely refused to give me extra copies of the receipts. He said that I should have already gotten them which I did the first time however some of them I was missing because I have misplace them. I think that was a very shady move not giving me a record of what they did to my vehicles upon request, if they did nothing wrong then one would think they would have had no problem giving me a copy of what they did to my vehicles. They got upwards towards six or seven thousand dollars within the last 12 months out of me supposedly fixing my vehicles. I can promise you everything that they have touched on my vehicles is still broken going bad and addition to the car is even worse then the first time I brawt it in. I recommend that everyone stays away from this place. They seem like nice guys however I think they pick and choose who they're going to screw over and who they don't. I am a small business owner in the community and tattoo thousands of people in the area many which are car mechanics. The reason why I don't go to them and try and find others is because every mechanic I have tattooed has bragged about ripping people off that don't know it. This experience has taught me many of lessons and I know how to protect myself next time... this last part will go to Dave....I hope I was able to help you pay your bills why you screwed me over. You gentlemen have definitely schooled me in finding a mechanic and what mistakes that I have made by coming to you. I'm responding to your response and yes I did bring in my vehicles multiple times to you to fix the same problem that you fixed once-over before and then you made the situation worse so yeah why would I bring my vehicle back in when I brought it to you multiple times over and over and over again to only have the same problem and multiple problems arise after? This whole ordeal has been taking months and thousands of dollars. Another thing is why wouldn't you give me my receipts and copies of what you did on my car huh? You guys got caught up in either not knowing what you were doing or ripping me off one of the two.
