Hertz requires a CC as security even though they take and hold your money off your bank's Debit Card for which I use VISA through my Chase acct. Because of this, Hertz would not rent to me the vehicle I requested two days prior and left me stranded. Thankfully Enterprise Rental was nearby and they assisted me. (no CC needed). And oh, my $425.06 Debit Card hold? Apparently its not safe to refund that to me either till 7-10 days pass even though I was not provided one of their vehicles!

Booked a full size SUV weeks in advance and was given a mini van with about 25k miles that smelled of smoke. Pulled out of the lot only to find I had a tire with low pressure (26psi). Turned around and was told it’s the tire pressure monitor sensor and they had no pressure monitors to check. Was told to go to a gas station and get air, are you kidding me?Bought a pressure monitor and Tpms was fine. it was a leak and they knew it. Major waste of my time and will not be renting from this location again.

Based on my custom service experience as of 10 min ago- I will never rent another or recommend this location to anyone. I called to ask a few questions about upgrading my vehicle ( which is rented the dealership ) I was first put on hold for 20 min and then called back to some miserable sorry excuse for a employee working that must be having a terrible day by the way I treated on the phone. As if it was my fault he was working at a car rental place I was trying to get the details of upgrading my vehicle or how to go about it.I even asked him why he was being so rude… He hung up on me in the middle of asking a question and I have called back many times without an answer. I will be showing up to there tomorrow and asking to speak with a supervisor and filing a formal complaint with hertz. 100% unacceptable behavior from what a sham on a prestige rental car business.Shame on you- take your money and business elsewhere!

Very bad experience. I was told to drop the keys without additional charges, if I am returning after 6 pm. I have returned the car at 6:15 pm. But I was charged for next full day. Sorry, I would think thrice before going to Herz again. I recommend very unlikely.

Brought back car full and left in lot overnight. They added $40 to the credit card charge for 1/4 tank on a small car. They rerented it that morning with 3/4 tank, so no cost for their labor to fill up. Hertz should shut them down for defrauding customers.

Adding an additional review based on experience on 20th Nov 2023Yes I had a Pathetic customer experience at Novi HLEPresidential circle member by an old lady for denying the service on 11th Nov 2023 for which I would request Hertz to train people in Novi HLE location (except Mark - Location manager) am Hertz user since last 7-8months continuouslyI did also convince myself sensing that on 11th nov the old lady (Hertz employee at NOVI HLE) was in hurry to finish the day but was unhappy the current list of schedule appointments were pushing her work beyond closing time and hence she would have been rude to meI hope this doesn’t happen again in futureAs lady Denied service on 11th Nov 203, I had to come back again on Nov 13th 2023. I had a return of hertz car and pickup of another car for new reservation on my nameI left my bag with all personal documents ( passport etc)in the car returned on 13th Nov and only realized that after a week on 20th NovI did go back to Hertz Novi HLE today(20th Nov) to see if an employee would have safely secured, if they found it during cleaning of returned carMark, who is always welcoming with customers at Novi HLE did handover the bag.I would like to highlight the HERTZ management to place my sincere THANK YOU and appreciate MARK for returning valuable bag backTHANK YOU again MarkIncreasing review stars to 4 just because of MARK( as always he is supportive , welcoming to customer and he is only one person who is fast in addressing the customer)My heartfelt thank you to MARKHope to see good service from others as well alike from MARK at NOVI HLE

I had an unfortunate experience at Hertz Car Rental. I arrived two minutes past my scheduled pickup time, but despite seeing the female agent and customers inside, the door remained closed to me. A little flexibility and customer understanding would have significantly improved this situation. Service-oriented businesses need to offer some leeway at closing time, especially for minor delays like this. I hope this feedback helps Hertz consider a more accommodating approach in the future.Very disappointed. My weekend travel has been ruined ?

Went for an insurance rental and they lost the reservation twice, was given a car that had a flat tire, traded for a new one and was given 2 different receipts. When I went back on Saturday to return it, the location was closed even after the site said it was open 9-12. Three other people were waiting outside for their rentals, and when calling customer services, no one would answer. Will not be using again, and strongly recommend no one else use them either.

From my personal experience, the hertz Novi has provided me the best service with flexibility of choosing, availability of different type of vehicles. Especially, the service provided by Dabiante at the reception desk was phenomenal, very helpful in answering all my questions & Cooperative.

Do NOT use this location. -Dirty cars, broken hatches, smells like marijuana, untrained staff, long wait times, 1/4 tank of gas, the list goes on... I have rented several vehicles here as a Gold member status, and I have yet to have a good experience. 3 out of the 5 vehicles I have rented, had less than a full tank of gas. On top of that, if you return a vehicle with more gas than you started with, they don't give you a refund or take money off for the extra gas you bought. But if you return it with less gas, they charge you $10 a gallon. So you have to fill it up exactly where the tank was when you rented it. 1 of the 5 vehicles I rented were actually cleaned efficiently. Almost all of them had splatters on the steering wheel or consoles. One of them smelled like marijuana and had all my stuff smelling like it when the trip was done. 1 of the vehicles had a broken rear auto hatch, so I had to swap out a vehicle and it took them 20 minutes to get me into a different one. Just hand me the keys and do the paperwork when I leave, don't waste my time. The employees are not well trained. Every time I went in there, the lady had to ask a manager for help, leaving me waiting. One of the guys mumbles so softly I couldn't even tell he was talking to me. One lady even had the nerve to say "oh no, we might not have a vehicle for you" the last thing a customer wants to hear when I rented it 2 days prior on the app. The final thing that made me never go back. They failed to inform me that their lot was getting re-done and later told me in order to drop the keys off during off hours I had to park at a school down the street and walk to the Dropbox and leave a note where I left their car. How unprofessional can you get. Never going back to this Hertz, or Hertz in general. Using National or Enterprise from now on.

Younger gentleman was extremely polite and helpful.The elder lady must of been having a bad day she did not like that I asked a question. She really should learn how to answer a question properly.I asked for a reason.

I booked a car online a few hours after another company cancelled on me. I arrived and was quickly checked in and given a very clean car.When I returned the car early, I was quickly checked in. I realized I hadn't refilled the gas and was allowed to take it to the gas station. Thanks guys for the great service!!

If you book through a third party and already paid them, don't take the insurance. They'll authorize your card for an extra 200 then leave it on your account. You can't call them or get ahold of anybody to fix the problem because everything is automated and they expect you to go fight it with your bank... Good luck. Never using Hertz again, let alone getting the full coverage insurance.
