You can always count on this place to have checkout lines backed up at least 2 aisles, it is this way every time I come here, this seems to stem from people going through self check out with a zillion items (which they kinda have to cause there is usually maybe one person actually physically checking people out??), kinda the same for the Kroger in royal oak as well but that one is still better, not sure why they don’t staff at least 3 people to actually physically check people out with large carts

Can/bottle return area is DISGUSTING and employees are RUDE.I normally shop next door at Aldi, but there are times when Aldi doesn't have what I need, so I thought I'd try Kroger. I figured it would be great because it's a known name, and literally next door!I was sorely mistaken.I went in to return cans and was rudely "greeted" by an employee who snapped that the recycle center wasn't inside the store. I hadn't approached her, yet she acted like I had interrupted her day, and I was a huge inconvenience. She grabbed the front of my cart and started marching me toward the opposite door and pointed me in the direction of the can/bottle return. I had to go back outside, walk across the front, around the corner, and go to the back of the building to get to the return center. A bit of a trek, but no big deal. But let me tell you - every return room has its own aroma, but saying I was assaulted by the stench when I walked into that room would be putting it gently. Not only was the smell nauseating, but there were puddles on the floor, carts were left and crammed in there, there was garbage all over, and only 2 of plastic/can machines were working. On top of that, the machine I was using kept refusing cans, despite the fact that it had accepted identical cans prior. The room looked like it hadn't been touched by an employee for DAYS.After I finished my business and had gone home, I realized I had lost a personal item. I called Kroger to enquire if anyone had turned it in. The first person that answered didn't even let me finish my sentence before cutting me off and transferring me. The next employee that answered (presumably the lost and found) barely took the time to listen to what I had to say before abruptly dismissing me and hanging up.The store itself might be nice and shiny, but don't let it fool you. I'm sorry, putting up with that disaster and those attitudes is just NOT worth it, especially with the prices they charge. I had hoped and expected more from Kroger.

Today Tenia was super nice and helpful. I was standing in line and she told me come over to self checkout. She scanned all my groceries and bagged them even though she didn't have to. I forgot my Kroger discount card. She scanned her card to ensure I received my discount. I appreciate her awesome customer service and the fact she went above and beyond ????????. We need more kind people like her.

This Kroger is just awful. I was so excited to have one close by but this one has bare shelves, a disorganized layout, unhelpful employees, and if you don’t love self check out or waiting for 45 minutes on line to check out don’t go here. The employees are rude and prefer to sit and chat with each other than to actually help customers with anything, even if you catch one not chatting you’re guaranteed they won’t know where anything is.Doing a pick up order from here is also a joke. They will lie and say it’s not in stock, they will only put one item when you request multiple, they make substitutions even when you say not to, or they charge you and don’t give you what you ordered at all.I honestly don’t know why Kroger corporate doesn’t step in. As an avid Kroger shopper this location gives the Kroger corporation a really bad name.

Unfriendly staff. Twice a person vacuuming the entrance has made a point of not letting people pass. I watched an elderly woman freaking out at the self checkout because she couldnt understand the computer (no lines were open with a human checkout person). At every other Kroger I go to, staff smile and say hello. Not here. And another note: With the large Jewish population in this area, a little sensitivity would be nice in the days following the recent events in Israel. I am not Jewish, but I know how much it can mean when someone expresses common courtesy.

I ordered for pickup on yesterday and the shopper who shopped for me could not have cared. My strawberries were horrible and they put them in my order. I had to go back to Kroger today on my lunch to change them and the wrong carrots. Such an inconvenience for order pickup. I know what to do the next time we pickup an order, that is review the whole order before leaving.

This store is the WORST. Save yourself the aggravation.1) It is the most irrationally laid out store I have EVER seen. Even employees have no idea where anything is unless they stock it. I talked to three today - not one EVER shops there.2) They have half the selection of food items than other Kroger's have.3) Many shelves are bare4) Prices for the SAME EXACT ITEM are significantly higher than other stores.

Ordered home delivery. Driver showed up at 10:19am when delivery was due between 8 and 9 am. He was nearly 2.5 hrs late!!!! He spoke with slurred speech and expected me to beg for my groceries, refusing to deliver my groceries if I didn't stop complaining about his late arrival and rude behavior. Then he falsely reported that he delivered when he didn't and drove over my grass while leaving my driveway. I got replacement groceries from Aldi and Walmart.

I get it’s a grocery store, but no matter what time of day or day there’s always long lines. Mainly cause there’s no employees even working and ones that do are clueless and don’t help. Very limited stock, most stuff is out. Overall, gross store, long lines, no stock. Would rather drive further for somewhere else.

Solid chance of there not being any carts inside the store any given time of day, the self checkout lines are frequently backed up all the way down the aisle if you make the mistake of showing up at anything close to normal shopping times. Prices are not good, you can often find the exact same brands and items cheaper in other stores like Target or Meijer. No reason at all to go here other than if the location is convenient and even then there's an Aldi literally a hundred feet away.

Greetings. This is one of the largest and cleanest Krogers I have ever been to. I loved the selections and the people were very helpful. Check out was quick and easy. The bagger and clerk were courteous and polite. There were several shopping carts with wheel issues and when we left there were none in the store racks. Hopefully they had someone collecting them from the parking lot, but we didn’t see anyone. There was a person serenading people in the parking lot. He had a really good voice. That was nice.

Store is garbage. I wish they would hire someone that knows how to run it. It’s often dirty, crazy long lines, low stock. How can this store be out of cucumbers so often. Whomever is in charge of purchasing should be fired. Trash.

DO NOT buy gift cards from the Oak Park Kroger. I purchased Nike gift cards for my son and his family for Christmas. Why they waited so long to use them is beside the point. Anyway, in spite of the cards being still packaged and never scratched, when he went to use them, they had already been used. Did Kroger purchase bogus gift cards or are scammers really that good? Either way, it's cash gifts going forward.

I was having a hard time finding the baking soda in the baking isle, and I found an employee, Sabrena, who told me the baking soda was on the isle I just checked. I went back to check, still couldn't find it, and I asked if she could show me (she was 2 isles away). A male employee and her explained to be rudely that if I couldn't find it, then the store is out of baking soda or they don't carry it. A vendor overheard our conversation and showed me where the baking soda was. I understand the Kroger employees are busy, but please don't be rude and blatantly lie because you do not feel like assisting a customer. Instead if you're too busy to help, just say that, and I can find someone else.

No carts were available. No hand baskets either. This is common at this location.
