I like this store, but the employee that assisted me yesterday definitely did not care about his job. There was an earbud in his ear the entire time and it was clear from his unresponsiveness that he was listening to music. Lots of sauntering and “don’t annoy me by being here” vibes. I’m not a high maintenance person or anything, just looking for a modicum of care. And for Pete’s sake, how hard is it to work at a super small paint store?! There was only myself and another customer in there, and they had two employees working. Not hard at all. Manager should be aware, because a robot would provide better customer service.

The store employees were fair. I wished this store would have mixed the colors into the paint. All they did was add the color to cans and then closed them. I bought 10 gallons. I guess Sherwin-Williams customers are on their own when mixing paints. Benjamin Moore has far superior service.

Store manager got an attitude when asked a simple question. I don’t care what kind of mood you’re in you do don’t talk to customers like that.

I have an account at this store, and when I asked about an offer I had received as a text message, I was made to feel like I wouldn't qualify because this salesperson said it was only for preferred customers! Then Rich stepped in, and he was rude, impatient, and seemed bothered by my questions. The tension in the shop was palpable, and I won't be back!

The Royal Oak store excels at preparing in-store and online orders for paint. If you haven't used the website, online orders are the way to go! I used them for interior repainting projects, and they mixed up samples or gallons with minimal delay even during their popular sales. Colours come out true to samples and well-mixed, and they always take care to make sure lids are on firmly and tightly.Staff are happy to answer questions and don't treat beginner painters with any attitude. I found the employees generous with their knowledge, especially when it comes to selecting the best finish for a project. Much appreciated there.I deduct a half star from this for location. The parking lot is a complete bear to get in and out of. You can only enter off Woodward Avenue northbound. If you're coming off Catalpa, you can *only* park behind PetSmart. The tight corner is uncomfortable at the best of times and difficult at rush hour.

The man I assume is the shift manager or franchise operater (white, bald with glasses) is super helpful. The girls working the counter were always pleasant and recognized me every time I came in during my home reno project.

We've been coming to this location for years. The staff has been consistently knowledgeable. Today I was helped by Charisma and Rich who helped me re-tint a color that didn't work out. They made the calculation of what paint needed to be added to the mix and turned a disappointing color into a success. I appreciate their expertise!

Really bad and uncomfortable experience at this particular location. Nobody greeted me, two employees just talking to each other about personal things. Asked to order 2 different kinds of paint. One they said was in stock but didn’t even check on the availability of the second. They just wanted me to choose something easier for them. automatically kept saying they have no idea when it will be in and wouldn’t check the warehouse or any other stores. The particularly rude guy was bald didn’t know his name. I called Birmingham location , lady was super helpful. She said it’s coming in 2 weeks after checking the trucks and warehouse. Way different exorzierendes with two different stores

David and Felicia are the best! Very kind and personable. I am the most indecisive person (especially when it comes to choosing a paint color) and they were very patient and helpful! I definitely recommend coming to SW Royal oak for all your painting needs!

Their paint went on smoothly and didn't require as many coats as other paints I've used in the past. The employees at the Royal Oak store were well informed and very helpful. It took me to get a few colors before I found the right one. After they made a suggestion and showed me more samples I came back and made my final selection. I'll be going back to them for my next project.
