This insurance agent denied coverage based solely on my credit report. This is illegal. While a credit report may be considered in determining rates it may not be the sole reason for denial. To be perfectly honest my credit is listed as fair but I also have an impeccable driving record. My only infraction was a speeding ticket 12 years ago and the only claim filed in the last decade was for a cracked windshield. I was also previously a State Farm customer for over 5 years in the past. There are much better insurance options out there. Had zero issues with Progressive, General, Root, and Geico.

Most of my interactions were by text or email. Derek was quick to respond to my questions. The only phone conversation we had was to provide my payment information. We got home and auto insurance at almost half of the cost of our previous policies.

Derek Hanson made the process very easy to get signed up and setup with State Farm. I spoke to him late Aug/ early Sept and told him that we should meet on 9/24/25 at 9:30am. He checked in prior to the date to make sure we were still on for that and also promptly called me on the 24th. We were all said and done in 20 minutes. This kind of service is not common today and I really appreciated this experience!! Dan
