Beautiful area wonderful trails. will definitely be back for more biking. only complaint is lack of signs for start of trail head. spent a while lost in the woods but it was a good lost. can't wait to come explore again.

First of all the location is beautiful. You can't find better scenery for cross country skiing and snowshoeing! And the trails are great so many options for both skiing and snowshoeing! Secondly - the food is definitely a major highlight. it's very hard not to overeat because all the food they make is amazing. Especially the brisket and custard dessert on Saturday nights. And who doesn't like bottomless cookie jars?? Their gift shop is great, and I highly recommend the sweatpants they have this year, because they're amazing. So comfy!

Note: we went as day skiers and not overnight guests and this is during covid. They charge a fee of 25 dollars per person for day use of their XC ski trails, which I think it pretty spendy. I understand that the lodge is closed to everyone except overnight guests but when we got there they were short with us and told us we could use the porta potties outside and that we had to change and warm up in our cars. They wouldn’t let us walk around the lodge, and when I tried to get a cup of tea and a cookie the front desk man told me it was closed and shoved a policy paper in my face. They watched us like hawks while inside and ushered us to the door and did everything but shove us out the door. The ski trails were very nice and we had a nice time once we left the lodge.

Maplelag is pure magic - It is by far my favorite place to go cross-country skiing. They do a wonderful job of reporting the trail conditions, and keep their trails in tip top shape. I highly recommend getting out and experiencing their beautiful property, and treat yourself to some hot chocolate and homemade cookies!

An amazing place to spend a weekend cross country skiing, skating, and enjoying endless hot chocolate. They are taking COVID precautions very seriously with takeout meals back to cabins and masks required in indoor areas. We felt very safe our entire stay!

We have so enjoyed our decades of family visits to Maplelag so were disappointed when we thought that we may not be able to go this year due to COVID-19 concerns. After talking to the Richards family and hearing about all the CDC recommended safety protocols being implemented, we decided we would self-quarantine and give it a try. Some of our favorite memories outside of skiing the miles of beautiful trails are from dining in the Lodge. Unsure how it would go without that experience, we were surprised and delighted with the delicious, all-you-can-eat meals served take-out style in our cabin. Social distancing was never a problem. The fresh air and snow were beautiful and we made great memories once again!

Visited during a beautiful fall day, just to walk the trails. This was our first time there. Just beautiful scenery and the hosts were so gracious. Even though we weren't staying, they invited us to walk the trails and to enjoy free cookies and coffee in the lodge, which was just a cozy atmosphere. I could easily imagine spending a snowy winter weekend there.
