We adopted a puppy from them year's back and have had nothing but issues. Be warned they neuter and spay their dogs way to early. It has caused developmental issues with our dog. After speaking with a vet it was made aware to us that by neutering a dog to early it can effect their hormones, bone growth, and longevity of their life. We contacted them and they're only response was to charge us to take back the dog that they neutered to early. Our dog has behavioral issues and is now more prone to aggression due to being scared. This is after attempting to have him trained and speaking to 2 vets.

Charging people hundreds of dollars to get their pets back is deplorable. Along with being raided by the state for animal neglect.

Absolute garbage organization ran by pathetic garbage humans who have no regard for animal welfare. The owner is more worried about pocketing a 6 figure salary (you can verify this from there tax returns) than she is about the animal welfare. I hope everyone involved in this organization gets what’s coming to them someday for all the destruction they’ve caused animals in their care. Run, do not walk, from Happy Tails. Do not adopt from them.

so, apparently 40+ animals were seized from this rescue because of the conditions they were living in.

Got a wonderful dog from happy tails.
The dog was in horrible health and they lied to me about the age. It's a shame that they don't tell you about the health issues until after you fall in love and buy the animal. Hope this place gets shut down.

We were interested in a cat named Gilbert at this rescue early March 2023. At first they would not let us see him because he had an upper respiratory infection and said he was at a vet's office some of the time. When we did go to see him on March 19th, 2023, they took us to what they called their "quarantine" room which was maybe the size of a large bathroom. One of their staff admitted there wasn't HVAC/ventillation in that room. They said they were renovating another bigger room to move the cats to at a later date. It was full of cages stacked on top of one another, all with sick cats in them. I remember one cat had dried bugers visible in his nose. Gilbert was in a cage with another cat. We did decide to take him home that day. He would not eat for a few days so we took him to the emergency vet. The bill for that was $1,600-some. They thought it was odd he was sick for so long (at least for a week and a half based on what Happy Tails had said) so they tested for Feline Leukemia. It was positive. When I told someone from Happy Tails this, they were shocked as they'd tested him the previous June and it was negative then. Nobody must've been paying attention to whether or not he was eating at the center, odds are if we didn't adopt him when we did, he would have died at the center shortly after. We were not given any options to remidiate the situation, only that they were sorry, thanked me for letting them know and that they were glad we wanted to keep him. We lost Gilbert less than a year later from complications of having Feline Leukemia. They should not be allowed to care for animals if they end up getting sick and dying early as a result of being there.

We adopted Cecil in November of 2023. He was healthy but skinny. We figured he was so clingy because his rabies tag was from Montana (9/2023), he was a year old, and he'd been with Tails for 2 months. Rough start .
With the recent news, his early behavior makes a lot more sense. I'm his support person and he follows me everywhere. He's happy, and healthy and getting the socialization skills but it wasn't easy. Glad I insisted on adopting him the day we met him.

This “rescue” is EXTREMELY neglectful, abusive, and deceitful. FIFTEEN DEAD ANIMALS, more than 20% of those in their “care,” were seized from them just this month. Everyone involved in this operation should end up in prison and I sincerely hope justice is served for all the animals they tortured and the customers they scammed. Disgusting.

AHS dropped an advisory about your "rescue". That is absolutely deplorable. This isn't a "rescue". This is a living hell for animals. I hope your "rescue" is shutdown for inhumane practice.
"Our Humane Investigations agents removed 42 dogs, cats, and critters from Happy Tails Rescue in Fridley, Minnesota, where they endured poor medical care and inadequate living conditions in a place that should have provided safety and compassion.
Nineteen of the 42 animals brought to AHS needed urgent medical attention. Ten cats have significant hair loss, three dogs have infected skin conditions, one dog has severe muscle wasting on his rear legs, another has a major ear infection that erupted into ulcers, and multiple animals have upper respiratory infections. These medical issues could have been prevented or easily treated with basic care. Instead, these animals, ranging in age from puppies and kittens to seniors, suffered as their conditions progressed to the current, painful stage
These animals are finally receiving the expert medical care they deserve at AHS — because of you. With your support, AHS serves as a trusted leader in the animal welfare community and a place where dogs, cats, and critters can count on the love and care they need."

We adopted our dog from Happy Tails on 3/31. We love him to pieces. Have since learned that he has heartworm. Happy Tails said he tested negative on the paperwork but in light of recent news, I wonder if that's true- if they ever even tested. Does anyone know of a route to get financial compensation from them? Sounds like there will be a long line for that.

This “shelter” had over 12 dead cats found in its facility. I hope the people who run this place are never allowed to own an animal again.

Wonderful service. Does a great job of helping our four legged friends.
Nevermind. They have issues.
