Stopped in here on a road trip randomly. Definitely did not expect much in a small town bar, but this place was actually quite nice inside. Service was pretty slow, but food was good and atmosphere was solid. Great onion rings!

If you want that small town feeling with amazing food, great drinks, and friendly staff, then do yourself a favor and go to The Lakes! They have daily food specials and great happy hour prices.Food: 5/5

We went to The Lakeside Bar and grill carvery in Bowness today for lunch and were very well looked after. I am vegan and they told me about the new moving mountains burger meal which I had and it was delicious. My parents had the steak and ale pie and carvery baguette and were both very happy. Staff very helpful, pleasant and gave my dad who walks with a stick an alternative exit instead of going down the steps. My little dog was allowed in also,in designated area and had a lovely view to top it off. Highly recommend..

The Lakes can be hit or miss. The food is decent, not amazing. And the service is good when it isn't busy. But it's typically a pretty busy place so be prepared to wait.

Amy and staff are GREAT! Super friendly service! Wraps and burgers were good. Love that they offer tots! Pretzel sticks with beer cheese dipping sauce are a fav appetizer, and the fried pickle spears are good, too.

Staff is very entertaining and pizza is good. This is Minnesota small town great bar and grill. Popcorn is super salty...wow....but everything else is great.

We held our wedding celebration here in one of the private rooms and the service was fantastic! For only $75 we got a personal bar tender ( who was fabulous btw) and a nice space to dance, eat good food and laugh the night away. 10/10 FANTASTIC experience. I highly recommend this for any small or large gatherings you have. They have a bigger section you can use as well! The smaller section comfortably fit 20-30 people. :)
