Wish I would of read the reviews before stopping in. Thought it was a nice place to look for watches/clocks as I'm a collector. The blonde older lady about 50yrs old plus: I asked her if I could see it out the case. (A pocket watch behind the counter.) I didn't need to take it out and have her let me hold it. It was in a case surrounded by other items and couldn't get a good look. So for a 200 purchase I figure I was allowed to inspect it a little before buying but I guess here you have to buy it before she lets you look at it. Lmao this lady is racist and it's so passive aggressive and obvious it's sad. Self awareness made me and my s/o leave the store we didn't even say a word and even she could read the body language. If youre a minority make sure to leave your wallet in the counter with her or she'll doubt you'll buy anything and watch you like a hawk if not. Don't bother asking to look at things before you buy them. In Saint Paul 2023 is quiet tragic! Never going there again!

I love this place! Always new stuff to look at. Greeting cards and art and other great goods from local artisanal makers. Tons Surprising vintage books, jewelry, home decor, furniture. A one-of-a-kind store! (if I could, I’d give a bonus star for the store cat)

My favorite store! Love this place. Artwork, jewlery, furniture, clothes, records, and just all kinds of cool things. The owner is amazing, so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend stopping by!

Love this shop!! Full of old books, and records. Walls full of local art!! Lots of locally made jewelry and loads of little treasures. Will be back!

Very rude and unprofessional reaction from the employee, it was very embarrassing in front of my family and the other customers in the store. it is interesting to see from the other reviews that this was not a one off incident, i should have read the reviews before visiting.

*UPDATE* An apology from the owner goes a long way. Businesses don't need to be punished for one bad incident.ORIGINAL REVIEW: rude owner when I came in at opening (11am). From other reviews, sound like this is standard practice. a shame you can't just be cool with customers....

Really neat place! I just find it weird that every time I’ve been in here I’ve never been greeted/acknowledged by any of the employees.. And after seeing the owners response to some other reviews on here, it doesn’t seem like this establishment is run by a very kind person.

I’m not surprised by your response to my review. Reading through other reviews, it seems you have a habit of lashing out. Again, to set the record straight, my son did not touch your doll head with glowing eyes. He simply pointed to it and joked about buying it for his room. He was next to me the entire time in the shop- he was not running in your store- he’s 12 not 2 and anyone who’s been to your store knows there’s hardly room to walk. Sad, that this is how you treat customers who have frequented your store often. Even sadder that you are not being honest in your response. It’s also very difficult to see and read your signs- there are simply so many to keep track of- bit paranoid. A couple of tips 1) maybe don’t put a toy jet next to a creepy doll head you don’t want kids to be near and 2) maybe try not to traumatize budding antiquers in your shop. They have decades of purchasing power ahead of them- not a smart business plan!

Got yelled at in the store for trying to check the condition of a $4 LP. To be fair, there were signs saying don't look at the records but I had missed them since they are below eye level. Asked them if they guaranteed the playability of their LPs since customers can't check them and they swore up and down they were all playable. The gentleman was good natured about it, the woman extremely rude. Pulled one of the albums I purchased out of the sleeve when I got home and it looks like a cat went after it. First song has at least 3 skips. If I had been able to look at it before buying, I would have known it wasn't even worth $4. Hoping when I give my husband the more expensive collectable LP I bought from this store for his birthday that we don't have the same situation.
