The best selection of 17th - 19th century antique furniture in the region. Exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly purveyors. We've purchased many items from Robert Riesberg Antiques and couldn't be happier with them or our experience!

We are lucky to live within minutes of Riesberg Antiques. We've purchased several items of early American furniture over the years and have always been 100% satisfied. Bob knows so much about each historic period and can explain every detail of authenticity.

Riesberg Antiques reminds me of fine home and museum quality antiques. He always has an exciting mix ranging from the 17th, 18th, and early 19th centuries, with some from European heritage, American and Continental sources. Many unique one of a kind pieces come and go quickly, as the owner, Robert Riesberg is one of only a few specialty private collectors in the Midwest who still purchases and sells 17th and 18th century pieces.Bob is impeccably honest; he’s been upfront with me about the condition of an antique that I am contemplating buying and tells me if and how it should be attended to. Now that I’ve bought several pieces from him, he know my tastes, home, personality and style and consults on how things will both function and blend in my home.Decorative objects, clocks, lighting, fine oil paintings, porcelain, sculpture, rugs and tapestries typically complement the case goods and together create a functional home or office. Even though my lifestyle is quite simple, I love a fine piece. My two hundred year-old couch and coffee table are like fine art to me and make my home very pleasing.I highly recommend Robert Riesberg as a top-tier antiques collector and re-seller of select, fine period items. Drawing from his 40 years of expertise, he can tell you the history and value of antiques better than anyone that I have met in the U.S.in a long time. I may know what I want and then be inspired by the personality, and special features of a lamp, table, couch or chair that he tells me about. His wife, Christine is most talented in pulling together an eclectic mix of unusual and attractive home accessories to add personality and fun. Together, they have been very generous to share their passion and advice for creating a home that people love to live in or visit.Robert Riesberg lets consumer’s view his private selection by appointment. While I typically start with his website or newsletter, he is very accommodating to provide a time to meet when I’ve wanted to view an item in person. Parking is no problem. Moving, handling, and delivery – if needed – have been easy to arrange.
