We had a really great experience renting a pontoon for the day except for at the end having to interact with Avery. Essentially told us we couldn’t leave the boat until signing a document (fine) but then scolded that we weren’t leaving fast enough! It was peculiar and illogical. There are better ways to communicate policies that aren’t so hostile and aggressive. Hopefully she can grow up to be a better person with more effective communications skills and if she stays in this role receive additional customer service training. This was a disappointing end as the other employees throughout the day were wonderful.

Girl working the desk when we came in seemed ready for a fight. We had a 4h rental, and I asked in a friendly way about return timing since things were slow to get going, and what happened if we were 10 minutes late trying to get back. Should we stress about it? She said it's $300 or any portion thereof, even 10 minutes! Then she said, I mean, if you call and plead and say you're on your way, instead of just continuing to play out on the lake, we might consider a discount. She said it's not ok to just shirk the time, like I was planning to do that or something, some kind of base assumption that I was going to try and take advantage. I was just asking so that I didn't have to be super stressed, she did not make things easy.

Great experience for us. The day was rainy and we were offered refund if we decided to not use the boat. They shifted our rental slot to give us more time if wanted. We went out for two hours and had a blast. 25hp engine got our group of 10 around fast enough. Iris at front desk was sweet and empathetic because of bad weather. George helped get us started on boat and was happy to take some group photos for us. The boat was simple, not the newest but totally great for what we needed! Also the rental rate was about half of what other rentals cost on the lake. I had low expectations because of some of the poor reviews, but was very pleased with our experience. Most of these marinas employ high schoolers during summer break so it’s not surprising that in previous years employees may have been immature. All 4 young employees that I interacted with were polite, helpful, empathetic and professional. For sure we would rent from here again. Thanks for a great experience!

Rented pontoon today and had great time with friends! It was a large group and they adjusted our time together so that both group can start at the same time.

I had an emergency boat repair needed the week before July 4. I was sure that nobody would be able to get it fixed in time for the holiday. But Cliff and his excellent crew got me in their service queue and got right on it. They got the repair done fast during the busiest week of the season! They were awesome to work with and communicated daily with me about the repair and the timeline. Rockvam is a certified Volvo-Penta service center and they are my go-to shop for repairs. 100% Rockvam rocks!

I’m writing this review regarding one of the boat yard workers Justin. He was incredibly disrespectful when we had asked him a question regarding the boat. While our boat was being cleaned he spoke with blatant insults to the other workers assisting. This kind of staffing does not belong at a boat yard, and his employment seems to be negatively affecting the general population. Disappointed to see this kind of behavior.

Was a little cautious due to the varying reviews on here but I have no complaints after spending a half day on one of their pontoons.
Our boat was clean and the staff took time to explain things and answer any questions we had. They had varying sizes of lifejackets to use, including infant. Everything on the boat worked properly and we had a great afternoon on the lake. No one was rude or inconsiderate and the reservation rules and staff were reasonable. I would rent from here again.
I will say the map we were given could have been easier to read, but we just used Maps on our phones.

We will be finding a different place to rent from next time. On top of the employees being super rude when we returned with our pontoon..(20 minutes early I might add) they also did not explain anything in regards to the seats not being anchored down, the anchor it self, or the ladder. We ended up losing the ladder not realizing it needed to be taking off when driving (because not a single person told us this) but then they charged us $300 for a new one when ladders online cost $50-150. We understand paying for what was lost but Absolutely insane the price they charged us. They gave no time for our group to clean the boat, rushed all of us off and then complained about the boat being a mess. The radio did not work on the boat which also was a huge disappointment, but we don’t get money back due to that. They get to decide what the nickel and dime you for. I would consider looking elsewhere where before booking here

I’m writing to share our frustration and disappointment regarding the condition of the pontoon boat we rented and the way our group was treated by the staff.
To begin with, several of the pontoon seats were not anchored to the deck, and we were given no warning about this before departure. As a result, multiple people tipped off their seats, even when going over small waves. This was not only unsafe but also completely avoidable with proper communication.
Additionally, the rear ladder fell off the boat multiple times throughout the day. It was small, unstable, and poorly secured. We were never given any instruction on how to manage or reattach it, which made things even more frustrating. Several people in our group, including myself, were injured while attempting to use or fix the ladder. We did our best to reattach it each time, but by the time we returned, it had come off again without us realizing.
Despite returning with more than 20 minutes left in our rental, we were rushed off the boat and immediately confronted by an employee named Captain Cliff. His tone was rude and accusatory, particularly regarding the missing ladder. We are reasonable people and more than willing to take responsibility if we had been negligent, but his aggressive and belittling approach was uncalled for. We weren’t disputing anything, yet we were spoken to in a way that left us completely caught off guard.
As he walked away, he made a sarcastic remark, saying the boat was left “a total mess,” but that we wouldn’t be charged for it. That statement was both unfair and untrue. We had cleaned the boat thoroughly—especially considering how quickly we were rushed off.
We also were never told what the ladder would cost to replace. While it’s understandable that it might come out of the deposit (and that would be fine), better communication was expected and would have been appreciated.
Frankly, we were surprised to receive such poor customer service from a long-standing, family-run business.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, and that future customers have a safer, more respectful experience.

We use their in and out service which is great, great location and speedy service. The dock crew are especially helpful and cheerful Drew always goes above and beyond. Well trained group. The office staff are friendly and ready to help. Luke is the best…very professional knows all the answers and Roxanne runs a tight ship with rules but she has a lot of responsibilities, marina has many services and continues to be a success..can’t be easy. Thank you to all of them.

Very professional and thorough. This group really knows how to take care of your boating needs. Way nicer than hooking up your boat to your vehicle, driving around looking for a place to put it into the water and having to find parking, etc., etc., etc., they do it all!

I use Rockvam for my boat slip/drystack storage and have had nothing less than a great experience. The younger staff are respectful, friendly and well trained and Luke at the front desk always goes above and beyond to help. Also - I think Rockvam has the best spot on the lake to catch the sunset, so it’s always nice to end the evening at the Rockvam docks!
