First of all. There were bugs in the ice maker. The drain plug in the bath was completely broken. The hallways were dirty. The courtyard looked gorgeous until you sit down and realize there are weeks worth of cigarette butts and every table outside throughout our whole stay were dirty. Left a message with the manager and have never heard back. The front desk wouldn't even let us write out compliant on the complaint card . Will never go back here. Do not recommend

We stayed in a suite and the room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The room was by the exit door so it was easy to get in and out. The location was close to two major highways. So easy to get around the city.

We booked through IHG website. The day of our check in. They took out the full amount of our 3 rooms we booked. We reserved rooms for friends and were expecting to have them put their rooms on their card when they check in later that day. “This location” takes the full amount out before you check in. Never seen that before. So that caused a whole bunch of drama. There is a 6” red spot on the carpet. It’s paneled carpet and can be replaced. The door latch flashing is falling off, the refrigerator leaks about 12oz of water overnight from the freezer down to your groceries. The front desk accused our ID of not being us when we checked in. And was upset that our family let us into the lobby when we arrived stating twice that they keep the doors locked and don’t let anyone in without a key. Our family arrived a few minutes before us and were checking in and let us in while they were checking in. There was uncooked sausage and peppers inside the egg omelet today. I’m glad my wife saw this before I ate it. Ran out of coffee and butter and scones. No ice maker. Said we have to turn on the ice machine in the fridge. No way to turn it on. We won’t be back. The drury inn is better

We tried to leave comments directly to the front desk when we left, but the agent told us that was the general Manager's problem and he wasn't in and they didn't have cards to contact him. So public review it is!
Room: Had bugs in the ice maker, the stopper was broken in the tub and the mattress for the pull out couch was stained
Amenities: We tried to eat outside during breakfast for both mornings of our stay because I'm high risk for COVID. Both mornings, every table outside was dirty. No one was maintaining anything and we asked for a towel to clean things off ourselves the second morning. We left it for others who wanted to eat outside so they could clean their own tables and several people did. Staff did not assist. The fire pit, both mornings was full of cigarette butts. All the chair cushions were stained. The breakfast itself was nice and a lot of different options were offered for cold and hot food.
Corridors: We stayed on the 3rd floor which had significant water damage from a leaking roof and there are no efforts to repair in progress.
We will not be choosing this hotel again.

The location is central to all of our activities while in Independence, so it was good. The staff was very friendly. The rooms could be a little cleaner. I know sometimes they are on a time crunch to get a lot of rooms cleaned in a short time but parts of the room seemed dirty- around the toilet, behind doors, and the carpets could use a good cleaning.
The living space was good, the bed was easy to sleep in, and it was fairly quiet.

If you’re in your 30s or 40s and missing your spring break years, this might be your spot. Here, you can party in the courtyard till 3:30 AM, blast music, smoke weed that smells like a high school hallway, and challenge hotel staff to power struggles like it’s a reality show.
Got kids? No worries! The pool is fully fenced, which apparently doubles as free, unsupervised childcare. Your child can throw rocks into the deep end, toss all the towels in the pool, and sprint from hot tub to shallow end while you scroll on your phone. Supervision is optional, because the hotel sure isn’t providing it.
Want to do your nails on the couch cushions? Break a cabinet? Ignore quiet hours entirely? You’ll fit right in. The room we were in had visible wear and tear, and from what we saw, that was just the tip of the iceberg.
To be fair, the staff was nice. But it was clear they didn’t have the support, or authority, to enforce even basic rules. After multiple nights of high-conflict guests taking over the property, we decided to check out early, refund or not.
Because when the guests are running the hotel, it’s not really a hotel, it’s just a free-for-all with beds! 🥳

The stay was okay, the check in process was terrible, not fast, the employee said multiple times that she was not signed in and it would take a bit and that check in never goes smooth? Not sure who checked me in but they did not know what they were doing and I had questions about what I was signing such as a statement that said something like by signing you agree to USA weekly subscriptions, i told her I did not want this and she said that it just guarantees that I will be able to stay the night and I had to sign it? Before your employees have people sign things they should know what they are signing. The AC unit in the room had mold all over the vent. All in all the room was okay minus the mold, for the price I paid for the room and the service I will not be back.
